      Benvenuto sul nostro canale TH-cam! Which Bajiquan lineage are you studying under?

      @@wutan_nj Thanks a lot! Actually in the part of Italy where I live there's no possibility to study 八极拳: no schools, no teachers, no students. I'm really fond of it but of I don't even know where to begin, I'm completely ignorant, that's why videos like yours are very helpful and valuable to me: I can learn things that otherwise I would have no idea of!

    Greetings from Chile! thanks for the content. I would love to see some specific baji qi gong if thats posible :)

    • @wutan_nj
      @wutan_nj  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the Taiwan Liu lineage of Baji, we have integrated our QiGong into some of our forms and practices. We try not to isolate the practice of Qi from the physical, therefore the reason for that. I will most likely "talk" about it during some of my lessons but I will not have a video talk specifically about QiGong.

    Good content for people without access to teachers/more fine detail! How far are you planning to take the series? (what material/information will you teach)

    • @wutan_nj
      @wutan_nj  4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      jKala thank you, this will be a basic series that’s tailored for Bajiquan. Also for those who’s been doing this for a while but may have missed some details. This series is meant to benefit everyone in the long term.

      WuTan NJ Definitely, always good to get details from a new perspective! Appreciate you taking the time to do it and share. Are you planning on teaching baji movements / line drills, or sticking mainly to stancework and the like?

      @wutan_nj  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      jKala still debating.

      @@wutan_nj speaking as a student, having video of the forms to work off of would be very useful, especially for anyone who misses a lesson.

    Am I correct in thinking that the rear leg and spine should essentially form a single line in this stance? Also what's the weight distribution?

    • @wutan_nj
      @wutan_nj  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For beginners, we want to emphasize on the concept of “center balanced”, therefore we’d want the upper body to be straight, perpendicular to the ground. Weight distribution should be 50/50 even on both legs.
      Then, for more advanced practitioner we would want the upper body to be slightly forward leaning(only very slightly) so that the rear leg is more aligned with the back to allow better power transfer from a structural stand point. This is also more so happening during transitions. Weight distribution should also be 50/50.

    我记得八极拳的马步不是标准的弓步,八极拳的马步是不丁不八的闯步。

      Jacky Li 馬不練得好做什麼步都行,還得按部就班為是、忌超之過急
