    Those batteries also work on your Black and Decker 20v Max or Powerconnect, too.
    I ain't afraid to admit it - I'm broke...:-)

    6AH is gonna last a lot longer so it’s great deal to go off brand. If it were to break you just get another one and you have 2 batteries for the cost of 1 craftsman one! Great video

    Thank You. Very informative. I just purchased a Craftsman 6 Power Tool Kit and was wondering about purchasing additional Batteries. You just saved me a bunch of $$$!

    I got 2 Chinese 4amp hour batteries for half the price of 1, 2 amp hour craftsman and they work great! And last twice as long !

    thats a great deal, it looks about the same battery but bigger. Why spend top dollar on tools that are going to get all beat up during use.

    Thanks bro! I specifically came here because I was considering the 6.0 AH for my brand new Craftsman Brushless Reciprocating saw. I used the 1.5 batteries that came with my drill set on testing the saw. I ran one of them completely down and the other one almost all the way down. The one that ran all the way down was extremely hot too. Was considering the higher capacity because of the cheaper price, but also the higher capacity. How well do the off-brand batteries work in the saw for a normal job? Not sure what you normally cut but I also got a bunch of blades with the saw so I plan on going to town on some wood/wall when we demo and rebuild a hunting cabin out where the only power is a propane generator and an electric power station generator. We do have a solar panel for recharging it, but yeah, multiple batteries in high capacities it is.

    How about an update as to how they have held up? I try to catch the Craftsman Batteries on sale rather than buying off brand. I tried two different off brand batteries with the older 19.2 Volt tools and those batteries were lighter and felt "cheap". They did not last very long compared to the Craftsman 19.2 batteries. I haven't tried off brand with the V20 tools so would like to know how they have performed since you posted this video over a year ago. Thank you.

    The craftsman batteries in stores are WAY over priced. He’ll even the kobalt high output batteries are $40 cheaper. I have both brands and it kills me.

    I'm somewhat curious to know longevity and stuff like that but honestly at the price point I'm picking up one of them cheaper batteries right now... 😅

      I still have the off brand craftsman battery years later and even for my Ryobi tools I have off brand. Never had any batteries burn out or any tools fails due to using off brands. Its worth it in my opinion.

    Honestly, I will take a knock off 6.0 amp hour battery before I use a 2.0 amp hour original battery. I do know that the knockoff batteries don't work that well with impacts.

    As a battery recycler for battery walls every time I have gotten my hands on a Craftsman battery, all I have found is cheap Chinese cells. The Amazon versions of the Craftsman batteries are NOT any better. The cells that are used in these packs are very poor quality and do not perform well under heavy, high demand use. They do not stand up well to extreme temperature changes and have a very short service life. My advice is if you're going to shop at Lowe's for tool and are on a limited budget, purchase a Kobalt tool. At least they put a half way decent cell in their packs.

    • @JTyred

      Look at the battery pack. The cells are made in Malaysia are better than the cells made in China. At least that has been my experience.

    • @dolrr54
      @dolrr54 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @JTyred That may be true about some of the newer batteries, but the packs that we have found in the battery recycling bins have been the cheapest Chinese cells and are not worth reusing. Besides, Stanley-Black&Decker has done nothing but destroyed and prostitute the Craftsman name.

      @@dolrr54 I won't argue with you there. I use Craftsman Tools more for sentimental reasons than anything else. So far they have served my needs. I have too many to think about switching now and suspect I'd run into the same problems with the batteries with other brands regarding cheap cells made in China. I usually buy batteries online but the next time will probably go into Lowe's and check to see if the cells are made in Malaysia. I won't buy the batteries if the cells are made in China.

    • @dolrr54
      @dolrr54 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @JTyred That's a good idea. What I have found is that major brands like Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt, Rigid, and even Ryobi usually have LG, Samsung, Sony, Sanyo or a few other quality brands. The aftermarket batteries sold on-line are often the cheap Chinese junk. If you buy on-line avoid the Vanon products. About the only aftermarket brand that has a quality product is Waitley. They are cheaper than name brand but still have decent performance and quality.

      Do you have links? Where's the statistical analysis of off-brand vs Craftsman battery fires? Most battery cells come from only a few manufacturers anyway. Just because a company wants to mark them up and make huge profits doesn't mean I have to subsidize them. There are quality off-brand batteries out there that have regular certifications like UL etc. But if you have the data, I'd love to see it.
