    I have the old school one the V20 but is a brushed, model. I abused daylight out of it and still kick ass. I am thinking to get this 1/2" RP version. Is much smaller and lighter than what I using now. Thanks for the video.

    Never use chrome sockets use the black sockets meant for automotive

    • @JohnVHLife

      haha, they work fine, no big deal.

    • @luisinhoens90

      more than meant for automotive the black ones are meant for impact tools, regardless of application.
      Chrome ones will likely get rounded up around the edges and/or break after taking repeated impacts from the hammering mechanism.

      @@luisinhoens90 Cool, I don't have impact ones for this, so these work great, and have for decades!

      @@JohnVHLife chrome will work... but they are harder metal and will break and can be quite dangerous when on a impact. Impact (or black sockets) are softer and will not break dangerously if they do go. Using chrome on a impact won't kill you but extended use on a impact will make your chances of injury from one much higher.

      I don't think you would be having such difficulties if you were using 1/2 inch impact sockets instead of that adapter for your truck.

    Hey man I wouldn’t use chrome sockets on these guns, I have split far too many, when they split it’s usually in 3 different spots in a triangular pattern, when they split sometimes you won’t even know until it’s stripping the nut, only the end splits, the socket as a whole stays together, I would get impact socket set for general hand and gun use impact sockets work fine with hand ratchets but chrome does not work well with impact guns, just thought I’d save you a socket or two

    • @VC-TV
      @VC-TV 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not only that but it eats up the socket at the anvil port

  • @BedjamRivera
    @BedjamRivera ปีที่แล้ว

    Using a chrome socket with an adapter for 3/8 to 1/2 inch. You're losing so much torque. Spend $30 and get yourself the craftsman lug nut socket set. You'll have a better socket, the correct one for the job and you won't be losing torque.

    • @JohnVHLife
      @JohnVHLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I got some recently. Good to go!

  • @VC-TV
    @VC-TV 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Here’s a pro tip for impact guns, the further away from the anvil you get the less power is applied to the nut, so avoid using extensions and deep sockets if you are able to, if not use a stronger gun, those 1/2 to 3/8 adapters will lose torque to nut as well as most of the power goes to trying to break the adapter in half, also you are using chrome sockets which are hardened and weighted differently and not designed for impact use, weight and type of sockets do matter on an impact gun believe it or not, please do not review a product if you are using the totally wrong sockets adapters and extensions, using those things does not give accurate results

    • @VC-TV
      @VC-TV 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Impact sockets are slightly larger than their chrome counterparts, for example a 10 mm chrome will fit more snug on a bolt than a 10 mm impact socket, allowing the socket to have some free play to assist in the hammering, they are also not hardened steel, so it’s softer, doing less damage to socket and nut

    The new RP brushless you would think it would have more torque for the impact wrench and both hammer drill and impact driver come on at least add more power as well
