- Decades after the Holocaust, Irene discovered the most painful moment of her life had been captured by a Nazi photographer at #Auschwitz in May 1944. She saw her 13-year-old self, wearing a scarf and leaning forward, searching for her younger sister, Edith. Irene never saw Edith again.
The innocence of a child; to be frightened for her sister to be lost in a large crowd in such a dire circumstance. Thank you for sharing her story and ensuring it is preserved for generations to come 💕

It is still unfathomable to me that this really happened. I cry every time I hear a holocaust survivor, even though there aren't many left. There is still so much hate in this world. God help us.

I'm a second generation survivor... My family was not Jewish, but a difference of opinion placed my Grandmother in Auschwitz And my mother at Ravensbruck as political prisoners.
Mind if I ask if they made it? I haven't heard many stories about political prisoners. I hope their story is kept alive. It's important now more than ever to have it heard ❤

Absolutely,I can't hear r watch anything about the Holocaust without breaking down ,how these people kept any of their sanity is a testament of their strength and bravery ,the horrors of what happen to so many must never be forgotten ,History is doomed to repeat if We ever forget .There r people around the world right now being persecuted and abused because of their race r religion.
Absolutely heartbreaking. I can't imagine the fear and horror she felt as that innocent little girl. every time I hear one of these stories I cry and cry. I was blessed and honored to see Renee Firestone speak many years ago, and I could not contain my tears.

After hearing the first-hand experience at Auschwitz, reinforces the desperation I felt as a child when I was taught this in 6th grade. I pray for peace and comfort for all of the survivors and their families. We can NEVER forget the horror of the way that God's chosen people were treated.
The heartbreak so many felt doesn’t diminish all these years later. God be with you always.

The world needs to hear those heartbreaking, tragic stories, maybe then they will understand why Jewish people need to have their own land and why they protect it at all cost
The Land belongs to the Jewish people. It has been ours for thousands of yrs, Jewish artifacts that are thousands of yrs old. There are NO Palestinian artifacts in Israel.

I first read of the holocaust at age ten. I first understood at age 14 what death was. I ever since then, I had for a few years a regret that I wasn’t born 90 years sooner. So that I might have gone before the terror happened and saved more lives.

The more awareness of it may help prevent such an evil again, however the modern world is fizzing with tensions and much needs to be done. Knowledge is helpful. But ignorance, or denial of it ever happening, can just be smug and very dangerous. 💖🥀🙏
