    Hi Janson, great video!
    I'm shipping my products by sea, as they are relatively heavy and have predicted to be out of stock for 2 months, how detrimental will this be to business?

    • @JansonSmith
      @JansonSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh Brett hi mate, thanks ! I was out of stock for a similar amount of time. Unfortunately you will lose your rank, but you will be able to recover it a lot quicker than if you were starting out. Just have your relaunch strategy ready for when the stock comes in - PPC, an attractive price, and make sure your listing is fully optimised so you can hit the ground running! Also make sure your listing now is closed and keep your eye out for hijackers!

      @@JansonSmith cheers boss. do you pay for Amazon to deliver your fba items or is that included in the fee? im trying to work out my sale profits after fees, postage and what i brought the item for.

  • @ericlloyd5355
    @ericlloyd5355 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    TFSB fab you don't have to register for VAT until your annual sales reach the threshold which is about £85k. Then you either have to add 20% to your price or swallow the difference. Or just up the price slightly. But you would be able to reclaim the VAT charged by Amazon on their fees, e.g. referral fee always shown as 15% is actually 18% with VAT., but that is not such a good deal overall at the end of the day. They (HMRC) have you over a barrel however you look at it. But it is still a viable business model at the moment.

    • @JansonSmith
      @JansonSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can reclaim vat on fees, import duties and ppc, so the net difference in the end isn’t a huge amount thankfully!

    Morning Janson, I’ve noticed when you look at a listing you ignore reviews mostly which is the opposite of what Jonny recommends, as I’m struggling to find products without high reviews do you have your own launch strategy to deal with the high reviews? Cheers mate, Jack

    • @denisescally7090
      @denisescally7090 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah oil diffuser top 10 sellers on first page hundreds of reviews like 600+??

    • @JansonSmith
      @JansonSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In my experience, reviews don’t mean a huge amount when it comes to a customers purchasing decision. I became top seller within 2 weeks (see my launch video) and I had 15 reviews. My competitors had 150+. Just because some of the gurus say it, doesn’t make it true. Jonny even just launched a water bottle which he initially warned people against, and he has had success and now ranks in the first page. If you’ve got a more attractive proposition to the customer than your competitors, then you will get sales, how many reviews a competitor has doesn’t make a huge amount of difference, provided that you yourself have some. All in my opinion of course ! :-)

    • @jxhc8748
      @jxhc8748 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Janson Smith - Amazon FBA thanks for this mate, I’ve seen many many products with crazy sales that I’ve been out of from by reviews, going to be re visiting them for sure

    • @JansonSmith
      @JansonSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      jxhc exactly, it’s all part of the box ticking exercise I allude to in the video. If the product has fantastic sales, good profits and is cheap to get here, don’t let competitor reviews put you off, because it ticks all of the other boxes. However if the sales are average, and the profit margin is quite low, then possibly having competitors with lots of reviews means not enough boxes are ticked and it’s not worth it! Good luck

    • @denisescally7090
      @denisescally7090 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course anything is possible. I think it's a bit rash though to encourage beginners to jump in to established, competitive niches. PPC wouldn't leave much of that 'easy £50k' on the table.

    Hey janson love ur vids... got an important question for ya, ofc we all know brexit and its possible effects, i was wondering if its still going to be worth selling in the uk/eu after brexit or not, and whether it might be too hard or too pricey etc bare in mind i havent started yet but i was looking into until now... pls let me know what you think, cheers

    • @JansonSmith
      @JansonSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      azim hussain thanks dude! Brexit is a tricky one as there still hasn't been a deal that's been agreed.. so it's difficult to say implications of selling in Europe right now. However, selling in the UK won't be impacted provided you aren't sourcing products from within Europe (I.e you're getting them from China). I'd say it's still definitely worth looking at Amazon in the Uk, and I'd guess there will be some sort of arrangement agreed so that selling in Europe isn't prohibitively expensive.

      @@JansonSmith thnx for the reply it means alot. I guess i only asked since i read alot about it which actually discouraged me alot from starting something that i was at one point inspired to do. I mean blogs and forums alike mention factors such as buyers confidence being low and the pound being weak can be an issue as well as other stuffs that i cant remember. What do you think? Maybe things can become back to normal after brexit? Would love to hear your opinion.

    • @JansonSmith
      @JansonSmith  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@azmo_8055 You have to see challenges and barriers as things that can be overcome, and opportunities for you. The fact is that a lot of people (maybe even yourself) will be put off by Brexit and other obstacles, which is great for people who are focused and determined, because it means less competition when we do eventually succeed. I'm currently launching my second product, and i've faced so many obstacles, and the thing that kept me going is that I know most people would give up, which means less competition for me. So you should take the same mentality.
      In terms of the impact on Brexit.. well, I think that sterling has pretty much depreciated as much as it's going to, unless we have a Brexit with absolutely no deal whatsoever, which I can't aee happening. I think for what we are trying to do and the amount we want to earn, Brexit will have little impact. If you're a business looking to make £50m+ e year however, then yes, you probably will notice a difference in earnings as a result of a loss in consumer confidence!

      @@JansonSmith again thnx for taking your time in replying, guess i can say it helped me to feel alot more relieved. About obstacles and challenges, i guess you're right, its safe to say that as long as ur determined that you can pretty much become successful and nothing can stop you, especially if you got a mentor of some kind
      As for brexit, guess you are right about that also and i hope you are right about that. We'll just have to wait and see
