Congrats on super great sales mate!! And thanks for a heads up on the Actual amount that I might need to spend on my launch. 👍 I’ve finished Jonny’s course just a day before your video with Jonny came out. Otherwise would have used your link. Keep up the good work!
I really like how true your videos are and not exagerated or big like others making similar videos on youtube. PS: can you share details like what your CPC was for the week and then second or maybe just a censored PPC screenshot? Im stuggling with my PPC. Keep it up. Peace :)
What a great video! Really goes to show the ups and downs of this business model and not like any other "guru" acting like this is an easy road to success. I am interested to know: How do you manage cash flow? Did you have money saved to order 3000 units so soon after ordering your first batch? Or did you get a loan? Looking forward to your next videos! Keep up the work
Thanks! Yep, it's certainly not as easy as the gurus make out.. I hate it when they say 'So and so made £20k in a month!' when they're talking about revenue! Cash flow management is tricky, but it is made way easier with a business credit card. I use Capital On Tap - they approved my business for £10k credit interest free, provided you pay it off within 50 days, which I think is great as Amazon pay you every 2 weeks. For my initial order I did have money saved though, perhaps it would be better to do that first, then when you know its a good product you can start using credit cards to help with cash flow!
Great video Janson, very clear and honest. I also have jonnys course and my products should get to amazon in the next few days so this video will help me launch so thanks
@@jcooper15 not good, before I ordered anything I called seller central and asked if my product was restricted to which they said no but it is. I've tried getting ungated in that category but turns out its a hard category to get ungated in. So looks like looking for my next product but what can you do its just a lesson learnt and move on. You ready for the Christmas demand
this video is really useful janson, thanks for your sincere evaluation on launch strategy. A question I think you didn't mentioned in the video; what we can do more to get to the first page by our main keywords. I mean you say that your some keywords get you to the first page but they are not the main keywords so can you share your opinion with us
great content mate appreciate it!, this just shows why a good amount of capital is important, i was thinking of getting into FBA with £1500 but this might not leave enough for marketing, with no to little marketing budget i think i would be in trouble. I wouldn't care about being profitable for a while though, just as long as i can get ranked get some reviews and go from there..
Exactly, main thing is get tthose reviews and a rank in, then worry about profit! Most new businesses operate at a loss as they're spending so much on marketing, why should Amazon be any different!
Hi Janson, is it common practice to put London on the end of a brand name, while sourcing products from China? i want to include that im a UK based company on my listing bio and that we source from quality craftsmen in China.
Brilliant video👊🏼one thing I’m trying to understand is....I see that PPC gets you in the “sponsored” slots....but even then, sometimes those sponsored slots are on the 3rd 4th page etc....will that still generate sales? How do you get on the sponsored slots that actually get seen!
Hey bro. So the way PPC works is a bit like an auction. If you say you're willing to pay £1 for your keyword of choice, but your competitor says they'll bid £1.50, then they'll 'win' the auction and get first spot, and you'll get second spot. If there's lots of sellers in the auction, and you're near the bottom, you'll still get your sponsored slot, but it'll be on page 2, 3, or even 4..which you're right, it won't get you any sales, but it will still make you show up on other people's listings, which will! So the answer is, you need to increase your bid price. Take a look at your PPC report and you'll see the number of impressions (or views you're getting). The higher you bid, typically the more impressions you'll get.
Janson Smith - Amazon FBA ok much clearer!👏🏼but whilst running an automatic campaign...can I control how much I bid per keyword? Or have I got to hope amazon bids higher for me and gets that top spot?
With an automatic campaign, you select what you want your highest bid to be. Then Amazon will automatically adjust your bid for you to try and get you the top spot. So no control. However, with a MANUAL campaign, you tell Amazon what keywords you want, and how much you want to bid for them. So a lot more control - a lot of sellers move from an automatic campaign to a manual one after a few weeks. The benefit of the automatic campaign is it tells you what keywords your customers are searching for.
If you list £10 can you increase it to £15 at a later day? I read create the listing at maximum price you will ever sell it for then bring it down? On the other hand I read to get the offer tick box (save 5%etc) you can't reduce the price too much from the original listing price
Hey Janson. You wrote that your ppc campaign was automatic to start with, how long was it until you went to a manual campaign? How many keywords would you bid for in a manual ppc campaign? I have heard some youtubers say 50 whilst some others say 5-10. What would you say?
Wow! £100 for PPC per day. How long did you run your PPC for. Also is it better to do giveaways or just run PPC in your opinion. Great Channel and great content mate! Definitely will be a lifetime subscriber lol 😁
It depends if you're getting sales - are you? If your £20 budget is disappearing and you're not getting any sales, you need to figure out why. Try adjusting price downwards, and then increase the budget slightly and see if you get conversion. I was only increasing my budget because people were clicking (reducing my budget), but were also buying. You need to be careful with PPC, it can be a double edged sword :)
Yes getting one a day sometimes 2 having watched your video after watching many i think i have done ok but as you say need to be on first page . I have 5 stars and 7 good reviews but not Sure about the PPC element thanks Jane
Take a look at your conversion in your Pricing Dashboard on seller central, and also look at your ACOS for your PPC. Both of those should tell you if you're not converting well. I personally kept the price low until I hit page 1, so took a bigger loss up front but its paid off now.

Janson Smith - Amazon FBA Thanks for the Information! Will look into that for sure!
The problem is people now pricing so low i don’t even understand whats the point then if you cant make profit
Lay Lah the low price is temporary, you'll be back to full price within a month
Awesome video Janson! Keep them coming!

Unlucky I am sorry to hear that, I hope your next product goes well. No, I'm just looking into starting out haha
Definitely agree with you about reviews! I just have trust issues...Thanks for being honest about you making a loss. Keep the vids coming bro!
I'm all about the honesty mate, important to be transparent in this game!

Really useful video thanks. Were your first five reviews from you first five sales? Or did you manage to spread them out?
Great video. Thank you for sharing.
Do you advice people to reduce their price, until they are breaking even so that they can rank and get reviews when they first launch ?

The benefit of the automatic campaign is it tells you what keywords your customers are searching for.
Janson Smith - Amazon FBA love that man🙌🏻nice to have another UK success to learn from, the UK will take over US!!
