He speaks to 3 people. The first recognises him as a recruit and so, despite his rank, he'd see him as beneath him. It's not completely unbelievable. Then he speaks to the Purge Trooper who works for Vader and you can hear the ISB talking about how much they dislike Vader's men throughout this part of the story. Then the guy at the end is just doing his job. He isn't particularly rude, just firm.
"Rather you than Lord Vader" Really shows how much the ENTIRE empire fearfully respects Vader. He'd rather die disgracefully to a jedi than at the hands of god knows what Darth Vader would do. As many have said in the comments, Cal sparing Denvik isn't mercy, its only handing him to a much more brutal end.
I have no idea why. He's easy with the right tactics. All Force-users are. Stun weapons. Lightsabers and the Force can't stop them. Stun 'em, kill 'em. Moving on.
If I were Cal, I would say, "Hey, I'm a Captain. Don't you see my rank? And I don't like that tone of yours, do that again and I will report you for YOUR insubordination and disrespect." And Cal nearly killed Denvik is almost a reference to Anakin executing Dooku, plus "Do it." quote. His actions as well as the loss of Cere could be the path to the dark side for the young Jedi. And by the way, the developers finally made dismemberments.
I think throughout most of those encounters they meant for the player to use the Berserk ability that slows time or whatever, just based off of how many enemies there are and how it tells you to use it right at the start of it.

Sparing Denvik is a cruel mercy. He should've been struck down on the spot. That would've been ten times more merciful compared to what Vader would do to him.
I know the inquisitors fill the role of force sensitive imperials but I do wish that there were many lower ranked force sensitives (not even necessarily dark siders) that worked for the empire as officers or one sided negotiators.

At first glance this scene makes Bode sympathetic, just a father doing what's necessary to protect his family, while Cal comes off unreasonable and bent on revenge and maybe teetering on the dark side. But then you remember that Bode was a Jedi and a textbook case of putting one's attachments over the greater good, and he sold people out to the Empire - the agents of the Dark Side.
I have an Xbox one and I’m really upset I’m not able to play this. I love games but I don’t spend enough hours playing to get a new console just for a new game. Fallen Order is one of my favorite games as well, loved it so much it only took me a couple of days to play through the whole story.

Dude SW has always had real life guns. han's gun is an obvious luger, E-11s are submachine guns, the DLT-19 is literally identical to the iconic German machine guns (not sure which specific MG it was though) of WW2.
Cal should have let Denvik speak. It was obvious the Commander had something to lose and it could have been beneficial to both parties. That and I despise that the personnel say “New Recruit” and Cal agrees even though he has a ISB Commander’s rank Tab.
