      Can you even buy replacement LCD panels outside USA for consumer LCD/LED TVs
      along with the board controller and replacement remote controls in single units without ordering
      25-50-100 off them from a vendor in china ?

      Hey friend, how thick is the metal sheet, that is used as the backplate in TV? Are all of those same thickness or bigger TVs have thicker plate? I mean, does a 43 inch LCD TV has a thinner metal backplate than a 65 inch LCD one?

    Hope you see this, just want to personally thank you for teaching me how to do TV repairs, After finding a 42 inch TV dumped by the bins in my local area i decided to take it home and try to fix it myself, after watching alot of your videos i finally found out what the issue was (it was faulty LEDs) so found a site that did replacement LEDs for the model i found dumped, im glad to say after following your steps i now have a TV that works and for $30 (cost of LEDs) instead of the original price of a new model which was $399

      @@TampaTec that would be awesome! Do you know of any tools that would help removal of a panel to service the LED's below? It's fairly difficult to service a larger TV.

      @@davidbasara6162 If you are talking about the main front panel.. Suction cups are the best way I've found to pick it up without a lot of flexing and not as much risk of breaking it lol

    I just want to say thank you. We have five kids and was gifted a 65 inch Samsung tv just before Christmas. It wasn’t new but boy my kids love it. It was a dream to have such a nice tv for family movie night. Just last week the picture went dark. I was lucky to find this video and by following the simple instructions I fixed my tv. I was so proud of myself because I’ve never fixed a tv before.
    Thank you again and my kids thank you too it’ll be movie night once again this Friday.
    PS it’s kinda hard to find parts these days

    My husband & I are going to try & replace the T-con board. Will have to find a parts source here in Ontario, Canada. This tutorial you made is an enlightening& sobering knowledge that simple folks like us (well my hubs is an industrial maintenance millwright) can fix it for less money that some tv electricians are charging here ($180 to $300 CAD). Will let inform you if successful. Thank you.

    Howdy,
    I have a 60inch Samsung that for some reason is kicking my butt. I have no LED’s coming on at all after changing two of the three boards…power supply and lower center with two ribbon connectors “T-Con”that go the LCD screen.
    I didn’t think they needed to be connected to at least have the led’s on…I did change those as well. The only board I didn’t change is the source input board.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Rafael

    This is helping me understand the inside workings. Just to get some clarifying, my screen on my Samsung UN55H6350 is super dim. I still have a very low lit picture that you can barely see. Sound is fine and all functions appear to be functioning. I have not opened up the TV yet (it scares me to a little) but I cannot afford a new TV. I am thinking it could be the tcomm board. Your thoughts would be really appreciated

    Thanks George

    • @TampaTec
      @TampaTec  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Need to check the voltages to tcon and backlight. It can be bad led backlight strips. If happens on all TV inputs and brightness flickers it's probably bad backlight circuit if the color picture flickers not backlight then can be tcon, or main video board or power board not sending proper voltages. Troubleshooting narrows down the possibilities.

    If you were to unplug the TV is there any kind of stored energy somewhere/ capacitors that could still shock you?
    I'm supposed to open a computer tomorrow and I've seen people wearing a grounded bracelet that's clamp to the computer.
    I don't have one of these so I'm just going to go in and do it.
    I'm an electrician licensed but when it comes down to these microscopic TVs and computers I don't really mess with it.
    I am seriously just starting to get into it now so I know absolutely nothing about it.

I'm talking about the whole screen to see how it worked and the connections to it. Hi, thanks for the video. I changed the tuner setting in the secret menu to auto and changed EU to Switzerland. Since the restart I have the smart TV logo then I get the same blue screen and then the TV turn off after few second and turn back on. I can't go to the menu or source. The screen is exactly like yours after the smart TV logo. I did all hard reset I found but can't find a solution. Thanks for your help. I have the Ue40f6400aw smart TV.

    I have a tv where the entire back light is out. I can see the picture if I use a light to look through the screen so I know the logic board is good and the con board is good. I am now wondering if just one leg of the power supply is bad. Do they ever do the led strips in one line my series?
    I just n Ed to pull the thing apart and troubleshoot the power supply.

    Is it possible to find which smd is blocking the power to the wire?

    I have a 50 inch Samsung where the picture just dropped out one day as I was watching -- like a curtain dropping on a stage. Then everything was black. I tried replacing the T-Con board, but that didn't make a difference. Then I read one of the comments here about trying the output ribbons from the T-con board one at a time. I got one side of the screen (the right side) to work when I had the right-hand ribbon attached along with a white screen on the left side of the screen. When I had only the left-side output ribbon attached, the left side of the screen was black and the right side of the screen had black lines on white background for a short while, and then it, too, faded to black. I interchanged the ribbons to test the ribbons and got the same result, so I don't think it's the ribbons. Also, I tried both the new and the old T-Con boards with all variations of connections and they worked the same way. What else can I check? Thank you!

      see tcon ribbon connections to buffers near the bezel, buffer boards are hard wired to the LCD panel check that, sometimes freeze spray can help locate problem areas.

    • @TampaTec
      @TampaTec  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      make sure tcon board is correct version and from reliable source like shopjimmy.com or electropartsonline.com
