- I just wanted to share how I restored my hats since I've been getting a lot of questions about it i know there are many videos explaining the steps but this is mine 💪🏽(@pjmont3)
What you will need
-hat
-hairspray or starch
-water/sink
-a pot
-an iron
-a good attitude

I have a boatload of old hats I found going back to the late 80s that need a cleaning...especially a "reshaping" back to its original form ...or close to it!

Finaly a video showing and explaining the trick ! I bought a very cool Linkin Park hat and put it in wash-machin, wasn't excepting the result, horrible. Your video gonna save me for sur on this one, thx you !
Good video. I do pretty much the same for my vintage NCAA Zephyr Collection.. i get most of them from ebay and they're old and dirty as hell most of the time. He didnt go into detail about what kinda soap to use so if any ones wondering i get my best results from a good cold water laundry detergent that has color safe bleach in it, for stubborn white hats or real dirty sweat bands i use a good laundry spot/stain remover like OXY Clean after the first wash. Any kind of heat is NO NO .. use cold water and let the hats dry naturally, dont be impatient and use a blow dryer or clothes dryer.. if possible put it outside in the sun to dry. Instead of hairspray use a spray on laundry starch. Then you're good to go.

Does the hat have to be wet to restore it from being soft?
Reshaping the hat with a pot gave it a very squared-off look. Would filling the crown with towels, old clothes, etc help reshape the cap to how it originally looked since the pot method stretched out the top of the hat?
