I really had an issue with writing notes because I tried to make my notes as aesthetic as possible. It was really depressing, because I couldn't help but rewrite my notes several times. I can write for literally 5 hours for a chapter and I feel so down because I basically have not learn anything. I remember when I first saw the original video, and had this idea to study law. I've already been studying architecture engineering, and lawschool is five year long in my country. I finished my first year of law school a week ago, while i'm doing my masters program in architecture engineering at the same time. Thanks for the inspiration!

Mariana, thank you for this video. It's helpful in the way to show that learning is an evolution. Adapting a style to fit your needs is better in the long run that just changing to fit the new study whim. Great video and lessons as always.
You penmanship is so lovely and love your notes. I wish I learned this during my school learns . I was terrible taking notes and made studying very difficult for me. Thanks for sharing and I believe every school should make sure students know how to take notes and study the correct way like you and that would save everyone great stress and help the students a great deal.

I've always used the outline format, one pen/pencil for taking notes. These other methods are very user unfriendly but do make pretty notebooks but unless you have the time and patience to do so, I recommend the outline method. I tried using a multi-color pen for notetaking and it was just a lot of work, so I went back to one pen/pencil. I do use different colored pens but not for notetaking. Red for debits and drawing vertical lines in tables, green for credits and overtime, blue for horizontal lines in tables, and black for general use. I noticed in old ledgers they use red and blue similarly in preprinted tables and it makes the tables a lot lighter and less busy looking than using all black lines. As for sticky notes, I never cared for them for the same reasons you stated. I've had some coworkers that live by sticky notes all over their work area and they also printout full sheets of paper with notes and steps and tape to the walls, shelves, etc. which makes the office look very junky and unorganized. I use highlighters very sparingly because if not, it defeats the purpose and turns into a kaleidoscope, but I normally use either a star or tick mark in the margin and underline, unless it's really important I'll use a highlighter. If the document is going to be photocopied I'll use a special light blue highlighter which doesn't copy and the copy looks clean without any highlighter shading. Yellow is my primary highlighter unless I need the different colors for multiple differentiation purposes. As for little banners/scrolls, I just put a star in the margin, it serves the same purpose and requires a lot less artistic skill which I definitely don't have. I really enjoy your videos and can't get over how organized you are and you still find new ways to improve all the time, well done.👍😊

Yeees I went back to the note taking videos like a week ago and I don't think it will be effective😊 I an currently finally done with high school and will definitely try this on my college course this fall. Really excited because I wanted to try the collage here in the south before I decide what med school I want to go to😊 btw I used basically every note taking method possible through high school but my favourite was writing down the books titles and adding info to it.. I spent too much time on it and after the chapter summary neatly there came notes from the last lesson before the test. I made sure to take some notes during classes and they were usually useless but Made me more focused. As you already know this is absolutely no the way in collage especially medical school.. 😊 planning on using Dr Najeeb lectures and see how much I can write down and keep up.
Funny you mention the colour coding thing for law school specifically. I can't live without it these days, its just so convenient when looking at my pile of notes to be able to find the relevant article numbers and case names!
For me, color coding is a life-saver. I have a very strong visual memory, and colours are my main tools to keep my notes effective and organised, and as a consequence my mind will be organised too

If you’re going to be just studying, definitely the air, the increase in power vs increase in cost ratio just isn’t worth it if you’re not doing hardcore editing. Hope this helps!
