In the N64 version if step on a yellow switch after stepping on a red switch it will make the conveyor belt slow down again. I assume it also works this way in the 3DS version, however, I don't remember off the top of my head.
Oh damn, I actually had no idea you needed the Stone Mask for that part. Somehow I found a glitch where if you walk into the door crack, I think on the right side, you can clip through and end up in the hideout. I figured that definitely wasn't the intended way, but I guess I just always thought "fuck it, can't argue with results."
You don't need the Stone Mask. It's possible to hide behind the rocks without Sakon noticing you, but if you're not standing in the correct spot then he'll still see you. If you wear the Stone Mask then you can be standing in front of him and he won't notice you. Considering how annoying this sidequest is, it's best to just wear the Stone Mask and not risk it. Also, for anyone interested, it is in fact the crack in the door on the right side that you can clip through to enter with the door closed.
I have a question: How on the first day do you get the reservation for the room? I've tried to stay in the kitchen until 11:30, but it seems I always get kicked out by 8:30. Am I just supposed to say "Yes" to Anju when she asks if I have the reservation, because I thought I did that once and she told me that all the rooms are already booked.
So there is more information in the description, but the basically you have 2 options. Option 1: Talk to Anju without wearing Kafei's mask after 2 & tell her you have a reservation (you can't get this reservation earlier otherwise you get the all booked up line). This will get you the key allowing you normal access in the Stock Pot Inn at night. Then talk to her with Kafei's mask on to set up the meeting in the kitchen. Option 2: Don't bother getting the room key and just talk to Anju with Kafei's mask. You'll get kicked out at night, but if you enter using the door on the 2nd floor that can be reached using the nearby Deku Flower outside then you can get into the Inn at night.
@@EmptyGarbageCan Oh, alright. I'm surprised that I never thought about using that Deku Flower before, but anyways, thanks for the info, I really appreciate it!

Assuming you waited there until 7, were you hiding well/wearing the Stone Mask? If you weren't wearing the Stone Mask and weren't hiding well enough then you won't get in. I don't remember off hand how close he has to get before he spots you. If you don't already have the Stone Mask then I highly recommend getting it first. There's no reason to risk this quest by not wearing that mask. Also, the reason I say him not wearing the Keaton Mask doesn't mean you've done everything is because it is possible for Kafei to get his Sun Mask back (and therefore for you to get into the Hideout), but for Anju to not be at the inn waiting for him because you failed to do something on her end (and therefore you will not get the Couple's Mask). Because of this you'll really want to make sure you've done everything that you need to.

I now know that you, yeah, need to have the even bigger wallet, stop the theif at that time at night, and get it on the, yeah never mind it doesn't matter now, also obviously a big glitch with youtube notifications, because yeah nevermind haha.
@@StoMoComedoPro I'm glad you were able to figure everything out!

If you talk to the girl before will it not work?
I'm not sure which part you're talking about, but I'll assume you're wondering about talking to Anju before the Postman gives her the letter on the 1st Day. If that's the case then talking to Anju before is perfectly fine it's just you won't be able to get the key to the room anymore. What this means is you will not be allowed through the front door at night & so will have to use the door on the upper level reached by using the nearby Deku Flower in order to talk to Anju at night time.
Ok how am I supposed to go from Kafeis hideout to ikana canyon without the bird statue
Go East from Clock Town. You'll need the Hookshot and Epona. Additionally, if you have never been there before then you'll also need the Garo's Mask.
@@EmptyGarbageCan you know what I’m gonna do this before I fight Majora

How u could record in ur n64?
Probably a screen recorder on the tv
@@JM-gj1oe yes he

So I realized I can’t go to Ikana Canyon now. I’m literally trying to do this side quest in the beginning of the game. Haven’t beaten any temples yet. I’m half way through this quest but looks i gotta wait to finish it now lol. You should have mentioned the type of equipment you’d need and how far you been to be to completely finish this quest. Good video nonetheless.
It never occurred to me that someone would be insane enough to try to tackle this sidequest as the very first thing in the game that they do. I added to the description that one needs to be able to access Ikana Canyon and have Romani's Mask to complete this.
@@EmptyGarbageCan I guess I’m insane then lol. When I go back in time, the black and yellow exclamation marks become grey. Would I be able to continue the quests as long as I meet those times during the days again?
@@IamTeddy100 You have to redo all of the greyed out stamps. The reason they are grey is to signal that they have not been completed in the current timeline. Once you complete them again you can continue to new parts of the sidequest.
When I go to the back of the curiosity shop at 1 PM, Kafei is still there and I can’t get the Keaton Mask. What’s the trigger for this? 🤔
Reading more comments, I think it’s because I rescued the old Lady from Sakon?
@@Stroyoo_03 That is correct. If Sakon doesn't steal the bag then he won't visit the Curiosity Shop and Kafei can't follow him.
13:34
When you finish Sakon's hideout, will there always be 6 hours left? No matter when you first enter the hideout???
Yes. If I recall correctly there is only a small window where you can enter the hideout before the door closes so there isn't a lot of variance in the time you enter anyway.
@@EmptyGarbageCan Gotcha. Thanks for the response. I'm playing the game on the Switch and just finished this side-quest to get the final 3 masks. All that's left now is to fight Majora. Before I do though, I am going to spend the 3-day cycles fighting the bosses and doing some side-quests over since everything gets undone when you play the Song of Time. My issue is that when I get to this quest, I will miss the cutscene where Link confronts Majora and he brings down the moon. No way around that I guess?
@@milestone380 You don't have to beat the bosses again or anything to fight Majora. You can just go straight to the Clock Tower on the night of the 3rd day. Nothing is different.
@@EmptyGarbageCan true, but it's just some weird thing I'm doing before I fight Majora. When you beat a regular boss, whatever misfortune that was plaguing the region disappears, but then it gets undone when you go back in time to the First Day. Before I fight Majora, I am going to fight the bosses again and do some sidequests so that everything stays fixed once I beat Majora (skipping the stray fairies though because I don't have the patience to find them all again)
@@milestone380 After reuniting the couple, just run to the clock tower to face the Skull Kid. You have enough time.
6:24
Random thought, if skull kid can only turn others into people he has cused. did kafei recevie the mask of link or a child who died?
I ain’t meaning to chew you out but u got a low heart container for how far this is into the game. I mean I ain’t a completionist but just sayin lmao. No hate tho, thanks for the guide
I waited to get all of the Heart Pieces until after I completed the 4 temples (not including the Heart Containers found at the ends of the temples which is why I have 6 hearts here and not 3). It was easier for me to do it that way when recording the walkthrough because by that late point in the game I would be capable of getting all of the Heart Pieces in an area without having to come back at a later time for more.
@@EmptyGarbageCan ah I see, I was wondering cuz yk. But now it makes sense
