- Join us as we visit Alton Towers Theme Park for the first time in 2017. We check out all of the changes across the park along with sharing plenty of on and off ride footage from the fantastic variety of attractions. After a season of closure we check out the changes made to both Hex - The Legend Of The Towers and the newly named Cuckoo Cars Driving School.
On top of that we discover the many other changes across the park for this season including the removal of 2 attractions in Cloud Cuckoo Land, 2 new additions in CBeebies Land and much more. We also keep you up to date on the latest from Secret Weapon 8, the parks new wooden roller coaster opening in 2018. We hope you enjoy the vlog and we look forward to sharing more videos than ever from Alton Towers throughout the year.

I hope this will give you a laugh - way back in around 1998 I think it was, during my coach driving days I was booked to take a small group of 8 people from the Isle of Wight to Alton Towers for several days. 2 things stand out - I had to drive one of our midi coaches (which I detested) and due to this group booking rooms on site in the hotel, I was included rather than thrown out to a b & b, BUT for a laugh, the group had booked me one of the special, themed rooms (I did not know this, just knew that accommodation on site was included) and I can still remember sitting in this room with fairy tale figures and pictures and lighting all over the place!! A little bit embarrassing to be seen, an adult man, coming and going from what was really a childs best dream of a room!!

No one else but shawn would sing if you're happy and you know it on a ride
It would be nice to see the Towers fully opened to the public, not many theme parks can boast such an iconic building.
To do in Cloud Cuckoo Land
1. Move Spinball Whizzer to area (place it round back)
2. Replace Charlie & the Chocolate Factory Boat Ride with another indoor boat ride. But it has an outdoor finale drop (like Jurassic Park boat ride
3. Have an 'Animaqique' style show where Ice Age 4D used to be..and other shows aswell (the shows can be on a rota, on different days is different shows. like also have a magic show etc.)
4. Bring back Twirling Toadstools. Need more flat rides at Alton Towers. And a family flat ride (like Twirling Toadstools) is great for Cloud Cuckoo Land
5. Replace Driving School with a large scale water fountain area for kids (like Splash Safari at Legoland or Water Kingdom at Paultons Park)
Twirling Toadstool is staying, it's just under refurbishment

It was freezing yesterday I was so cold all day. We stayed over in the woodland lodge. It was much warmer today. Shame smiler was shut x

Anyone else notice the Black Hole music around Oblivion - and, and... get this.... I even heard the "Dont Look Down" blurting out at intervals from around the bottom of the hole
Ahhhh! the story for Hex seems so much more believable now because of the fact that it was just actually being refurbished
I enjoyed Hex so much - I was in the first public group on Saturday. Only thing I could say, when I went into the gardens I could hear the film being played for the next group in the cinema room, it was that loud. Altogether however, it was a really enjoyable experience.

I disagree with the towers comments, I think the scare mazes being hosted in the towers adds atmosphere whilst queueing etc. The authenticity feels right. However, they do seem to close early in preparation given the mazes don't seem to change drastically (mostly)
It was work very well, just with it was closed a little later to prepare like it always used to be

We went last Sunday, I noticed a few improvements too, like the wheelchair access in Duel is now lit where as last year it was completely dark, Hex as you said is louder but to me that was a good thing, hope the VR is fixed soon though, even tho I thought it was better without it

Are Alton Towers trying to pull a Drayton Manor by making a rapids close to a roller coaster, including great views? ;D
I had an idea that Alton towers should do a mini game thing like at 12:00 in the after noon and should play a theme tune to a rollercoaster of the big 6 challenge backwards and the guests has to guess it and it's slogan, for example nemisis-sit back it's a fright time
I was surprised back in January on TLC's photo of Duel, they stripped off the crypt roof and did that overhaul to the area as well. I thought they were getting rid of it or something.

I went on Saturday and Sunday and both days I saw theme park worldwide at the gates. Alton Towers had alot of rides down and broken

So what's actually happening with Sub-Terra? I assumed it was closed, along with other rides, at the end of 2015 after The Smiler incident. It's a shame that it hasn't been opened again.

Yeah I know! I just thought, like those other rides, it may have been opened again. Free to your own opinion, I actually really enjoyed it.
It'a all opinion based, of course! It's completely subjective. I was also told that Th13teen was "alright" and, after riding it, it's up there contending with my favourite rides at Alton Towers.

Ollie Johnson every year we go (and I'm going again this year) we leave at half 9 so that we get there just after it opens at say half 10.
It Is So Annoying That I Live In London. If I Go Alton Towers It Will Take Me 3Hours To Get There, Which Means If I Do Go, Then I will Have To Wake Up At 5:00 am, Which Is Too Early For Me To Get Up

I do love the new Rita train, but I don't think it fits the theming because Rita is a old car taken over by the forest. The new paint job makes it look brand new! At least the colours look good 😊😂🙈 As always great vlog 👍👌👋👏
I'm going to Alton Towers soon and I've never been on Nemesis before - is it a very intense ride? Or is it really smooth and just glides along the track?
It's intense but smooth and enjoyable
I think they should put something from the log flume at the entrance like they have with the corkscrew.Maybe one of the boats on a stand.

13:19 seems like alton towers have got few qsc speakers which are really great sounding speakers but are very expensive

maybe they should either keep it as a 4D cinema and do either their own film or maybe do something by a British studio like a film by Aardman (maybe Flushed away or Pirates! in an adventure with scientists) or repurpose building into a regular theater or a small dark ride (if there is space for one)

When you compare the kids driving school to hex
As this appears to be a channel where there are no "haters" or people eager to make someone else feel stupid, may I ask a question please? I really do not understand computers and technology and i rely on help from others. I have a high powered system here but I cannot watch this video with the recommended setting of 1080p, your audio is out of sinc and the picture is very slightly hazy, but if I set it to 720p, it is perfect. Can someone explain why, please if you have the time.

And yeah what Sanbrooke said is right - the LED strobe lights in the Screaming Room are AWFUL and so are the ones for the Bats and the Trommel Zombie! It's an annoying health and safety thing though but why don't they just use more vent fans.
Going here with my friend, I didn't know about Alton towers since I've come across this channel, the sad thing is, my school fins,lay got a school trip to come here, all my friends are going, but I'm not aloud because I'm going on holiday that day so I won't be going to school, really sad but I'll be going here on September with my mom and my boyfriend, so all is good :3
