Best knife maker in the world. They look weird but are so ergonomic and are better built then anything around. It’s probably the only folder I would use as a fixed blade.
those two flippers are a dual hilt and if you carry it on your right pocket the knife will be secure and you will have no problem waving it out of your pocket like I do with my CRKT M16-14SF. Im guessing just loosen up the pocket clip or something if its too stiff.
I just bought the Cold Steel A10! Folder that is big, awesome and the first thing I did was drop the closing blade on my index finger! Lots of blood! Awesome option for about $120.00
Those knobs are made to deploy blade but catching on side of pocket when u pull it out like a Emerson opener. I personally love them makes it quick to deploy blade.
Should be used with the pouch/holster, uniform carry on opened not pocket/EDC as it was designed for but USD600+ might as well get a HK/Glock pistol or a Emerson Commander.
What I don't like about the knife is the partial serations, because it looks like only one side is done, and they are so difficult to sharpen, for me anyway, but I like the vid,I'm new to your chann, but very well done, thanks for sharing this with me...
Thanks. Just wanted to get info out there since there wasn’t much. Yea serrations suck especially on an EDC knife. They have there application but not ideal for the average joe in my opinion.
this knife is so similar to the M16-14SF. Its just higher quality, has a better tanto blade style, a little larger and it has a blade steel I've never even heard of... thats when I knew I needed to have it lol
GreenBeret42097 thanks for comment. Did you end up buying it? They just released a new Glauca you should check it out. I am wondering if I should do some reviews of my other extreme ratios.
Johnny Shanksalot not sure edge retention could get much better. It doesn't seem to have lost its edge. I'm not a knife expert so I guess I got duped! I'm loving the knife though. Fit, finish, and function for its purpose can't be beat on this model in my opinion.
@GreenBeret42097 The Steel (bohler n690) is a pretty common mid-range steel, not cheap and not expensive, it's a bit above 440c and widely used in european knives. Good corrosion resistance, easy to sharpen and holds the edge pretty good (it's mostly hardened to 58-59 hrc).
The type of steel is just minor related to a proper heat treatment after milling and forging the piece. And there comes a companys experience. ER only uses this steel so they ran in a pretty stable and sophisticated process. There are Blades from hyped D2 that chip like hell and there are some that don't. There are blades from 440c as brittle as glass and some are tough and rougged and hold an edge. It is just the propper parameters and a well known consistant material supply chain. ER know what they are doing with N690 and stays within their fence. No fancy stuff like ZDP189, H2, D2, S30V or Magnacut. Last thing to do is buy a new steel when it comes to a serious knife serving you in life threatening environment. There is a certain lack of experience here. Best blade is 440c in my opinion from a knife maker that has tons of blades done or a company working with this since decades. Don't let yourself persuade by the claims of marketing. Go fundamental.
I'm italian and i am a big fan of ER knives. I own a DOBERMAN4 and a MATO GROSSO. But i have to say their folders sucks, except for 3 or 4 models, they still use that fucking liner lock sistem and it's a shame for an heavy duty knife, expecially with that range of price, i think the COLD STEEL locking system is one of the best available out there.
Agree. The solidity of a liner lock does never match the solitiry of a 6mm blade and a billet design nor the "purpous". I own a Fulcrum II and have to say that this is my most useless knife in a large collection. A combar folder is senseless. Noone folds in combat. And the brade desigh is goot for combat exclusively. At least with a backlock...

What a ridiculous notion to say a knife is "too dangerous for civilian carry" because it is good. The inference seems to be "let the masses carry the lower quality stuff." Reminder: The military and police work for the civilians, not the other way around.
You need to EDC a fixed blade if you are expecting it to ave your ass one day. I have yet to see an Italian made blade than can go up against the industry standard and survive! The sheath is *JUNK* (cheap shit) and I have no doubt the blade is also. If you have a $200 + blade why would you scratch it to fuck by sliding it in and out of molded plastic (Kydex)? Dude this thing is a lot of money. Walmart sells a blade for 1.97. I use them for just normal use. Kind of disposable. I think I would rather have 200 Walmart knives to one of these lol
looks like a horrible design, too gimmicky and not practical and IMHO not worth the hefty price tag. I would change the title of your video from "civilian" to "anyone" as the blade partially deploying in the pocket is bullshit and I'd be sending the knife back for a refund. N690 is about equivalent to VG10 and a middle of the road steel as far as edge retention goes.
I think there could be law enforcement or military application for it, but I agree a bit gimmicky at the end of the day. Still cool to look at though haha.
@@WallStreetRedneck I agree, cool looks, but cool factor over functionality and safety just doesn't do it for me. The problem is law enforcement and military personnel need simple tools that work, not over complicated, poorly designed tools that could potentially end up harming them while deploying the knife. I honestly believe almost all law enforcement and military personnel would be far better served by the likes of a decent Zero Tolerance, Spyderco, Benchmade, Reate, WE, Hinderer etc flipper (or whatever deployment option that is best suited to Spyderco and Benchmade as they really don't do a decent flipper) and honestly they all (except Reate and Hinderer) will cost a whole heap less, plus most of the above listed brands are all offering knives in premium 'super steels' like M390 that will give a heap better performance.

Is there perhaps a smaller version of this? It's a beautiful knife just a little big for everyday carry.
