    Extrema ratio in latin means "last resort" in english

      extrema ratio is "last solution" or "last chance" or something like "top of force escalation"

    I have two extrema ratio and they're beasts in every possible way, the only issue for me is that they can't get a clean sharpness, they cut well but not as good as other brands, but they're purpose is not peeling tomatoes, they're made for tough use

    It's more like "Moskin" and "Extrema Ratio" is latin (not "extreme")

    The one you have is the civilian version. The military version is double edged out of factory. The official website says the they don't sell double edged knives to the civilian market due to legal reasons, but I have seen people have double edged ER knives. I'm not sure if they have different souce or just sharpened the swedge themselves.

    Why would a longer run of serrations be more beneficial? I actually prefer shorter runs of serrations, even shorter than on this knife if possible. It’s mainly for cutting rope or fabrics which you don’t need a lot of run to do so. I also wouldn’t compare the n690 other knife manufactures to the n690 on extrema ratio knives. I have other n690 knives and they dull soo fast, however my extrema knives still have yet to dull and I’ve used them for years

      Well hobby wise I do alot of just random tasks when ever I think of a project so to speak, but I would probably use the knife for assorted jobs whether it be cutting, slicing, or chopping I couldn't tell you, mostly cause I'm unsure myself but there id one thing I am mostly sure of and that would be the budget, being that less than $40 would be preferable if that's not too much to ask. Anyways thank you for your help.

      kershaw skyline is a nice knife and i just saw it on amazon for $38. It has great looks, easy to carry, not too small or too big, very comfortable in hand. I would consider it a great knife for general cutting tasks. check it out, if it dosent appeal to you let me know i can throw out some other suggestions. one knife I always suggest is the cold steel code 4, but its a little over your price range. But dude I'm telling you its one hell of an awesome knife.

    This is the third unboxing of this knife I watched on TH-cam by american reviewers. I appreciate your thoughts about the product but... why not take a couple of minutes to check on Google the meaning and pronounce of it. "Extrema Ratio" is Latin and means "last resort", and it is not pronounced as you would in the American English language. Same for the italian "Col Moschin" (that is a toponim, from which the Italian regiment took the name for their exceptional performance on that place during the First World War). "Moschin", particularly, is pronounced as, more or less, "Moskin". How would you pronounce the motto of the United State Special Forces (that's also Latin)? Just curious.

    • @YoungBrave2006
      @YoungBrave2006 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I actually like the sheath more than the knife itself. I´ve used many combat knives, and always the sheath was the sticking point for me. I´ve actually had to buy or have made separate sheaths for some of my knives, because what they came with was such garbage. I even bought a Nieto in the civilian market, and later found out that the military issue has a decent frog; but the one I bought, the sheath, while not absolute garbage, was meh, at best.

    This is a stabbing knife. Can't use it on wood or anything other than combat. I have the KH, doberman and fulcrum. The n690 steel is a problem it's cheap stuff that chips very easily especially in large blades. That's why they thicken their edges like crazy it's like cutting using a log. I dont recommend this knife maker for the steel they use

    Into the Austrians army the name Arditi create panic, ‘cause who fight without fear only with the knife finished hand grenades. Now Col Moschin is the name of Italian special forces Incursori. This knife was created for them who descend from the Arditi of 1918

    Yea that knife would break probably in the first day of survival. Ka-Bar USMC is much better knife.

      The Ka-Bar is meant to be a a good overall knife. Meant to be ok at everything a soilder would need but not great at one thing. Its good for Survival and surprisingly better than i thought for bushcraft but still not great but it wont ever compare to Esee or Tops knives.
