- My humble opinion on these great heavy weight contenders in the 'hard use' folding knife category. The quality of the fit and finish of these knives is very good, but a few design short falls need to be addressed in order for them to reach their full potential. I'm German EOD and we use ER as everyday workhorses. I love them

The knife seems a tight fit in the sheath because you are trying to put it in the wrong way round. Put the other end in first and your troubles will be over.

Good point re the locking screw bolt. I ended up putting mine onto the sheath to get it out of the way. BTW the bolt can easily be replaced by a common 1/4 inch 20 bolt too.
Oh yeah I put the pin on a piece of paracord, you can even put the pin on a high quality fishing swivel so it will not tangle anything. These high quality swivels, are stainless and u will never bust then as they are designed for catching very big fish.

That being said , I will stick with the frame rock. The Extrema Ratio knives for the most part are ugly. I do not mind the RAO II. Great review btw.
I´ve come to the simple conclusion that ER knives are overpriced knives with development potential which should been ironed already prior releasing. Funky, modern designs with a good will and effort but not quite there. There just always seems to be some room for improvement in both the knives and sheaths. Great video!!!!
Dark Of Light I think the price of the RAO 2 makes sense. I've owned it (ended up selling it) and it is a very nice knife imo. It's just a massive axis lock drop point. it has a great blade geometry and steel and the aluminum + polymer spine feels very silky and well made. My hand ended up really liking the two finger grip, I have to disagree with the guy in the video. It is a pretty good rugged all arounder but of course, you could just be using a fixed blade. I really liked that it could be folded, It was fun to just throw it in my bag or car and know I have a bloody big knife with me. It is really not worth the money compared to a traditional fixed blade that does a similar role, but it's a very interesting folder that is certainly in line with the rest of the folder market's pricing atm considering what you get. For better or for worse ER does use very high quality materials and parts. The biggest downfall with the RAO is definitely not having the bottom hole threaded for the pin, and giving you a sheath that is just super beefy for no reason. I kinda wanna buy another one and just use the hell out of it.
