    This is the best review of Extrema Ratio Requiem on TH-cam. Sorry for everyone else but this guy, laurent, did his job really well and he knows what he is talking about and what he has to say, thanks laurent for this great review and that in english, too. 👍

    Nice review! I got 2 Requiems (black and hsc) both didn't came razor sharp. Same for the one my nephew bought. No big issue. Sharpend it no it is, but from factory it's not.

    Hello,
    Thank you for the great video. A Solid Channel with excellent in-depth reviews.
    My French is passable however it’s now extra awesome to be able to watch in my native English.
    I’m into my third decade as a military guy and have been a long time purchaser/user of Extrema Ratio fixed blades and folders (10 plus years)
    I purchased this blade a couple of weeks ago as a designated plate carrier, rapid access rapid deployment last resort/weapon retention blade.
    In every aspect of its fundamental design it is excellent for my intended use, particularly the very streamlined interface and light weight.
    However my one (and in my opinion) major problem is with the sheath.
    The design on paper is excellent due to the low profile, inside the grid compatibility and rapid adjustment options.
    Unfortunately unlike all of my other Extrema Ratio fixed blade sheaths which are outstanding in all aspects. I believe Extrema need to address two key points with this sheath.
    1 - The blade rattles within the sheath as it is not form or even remotely friction fitted unlike all of my previous Extrema fixed blade sheaths.
    2 - The spring retention lever also being the sole point of retention for the blade. Although secure requires very little pressure to release.
    To use on my typical intended carry setup, I placed the sheath approximately center mass on my plate carrier in the inverted position.
    With a very basic jump check for sound. I immediately found the blade to rattle and secondly with minimal pressure to the retention lever i.e. accessing other kit on the front of my plate carrier the blade will fall free.
    I believe you can potentially fashion a quick temporary fix by cutting to size and inserting and adhering some neoprene strips inside both sides of the sheath although tricky it can eliminate the rattle and increase blade retention via friction.
    I would really like to see Extrema Ratio look at that and produce a from the factory professionally constructed modification.
    Also to increase the tension on the spring lever.
    I my opinion this would make this blade essentially 10/10 for the serous end user.
    Keep up the great content.
    Cheers!

      lee33htzdiscotech thanks for the input ! Apparently the fact that this blade has a slightly smaller profile than the mamba but uses the same sheath creates that rattling problem... The mamba was more adjusted to the sheath and didn’t have that issue...

    • @lee33htzdiscotech
      @lee33htzdiscotech 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      T-Tactical
      Roger that!
      I completely agree, the profile of the Mamba is clearly better suited to this sheath design.
      Unfortunately the one size fits all hasn’t carried over to the Requiem as well as with other designs.
      Have a Good One!
      Cheers!

    The knife is really interesting but the sheath is some kind of joke - it dulls the blade during use so taking it out and putting inside few times will end dull tactical blade - if you gonna use it for self defense think about some kydex!

    • @TTactical
      @TTactical  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's due to the glass-fiber content in the sheath plastic... I agree, kydex will solve the problem. They solved the problem with the new sheaths (such as the contact) they now embed two ceramic cylinders in a "V" shape at the end of the sheath, so every times the blade gets in or out, it gets sharpened a bit.

      @jfc3552 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TTactical Well they should give every old style owners that New sheaths. I pay +150€ for knife that dulls it self after one time you take it out of the holster

    • @Kaine666
      @Kaine666 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, I have this knife and I can say that blunting it on the scabbard is unlikely to work out, because it is initially stupid with a date of 1mm to 1.5mm, and I also slightly scratched the paint on the scabbard, I think if you buy kydex for it he will also shuffle on the blade, this is a feature of all plastic scabbards, unfortunately. Sorry for my english, translated from russian to english via google.

    Is it possible to sharpen the back (top) of the knife? Same question for Extrema Ratio Defender. Thank you very much

    • @grazianism
      @grazianism 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are capable of blade sharpening technique you can sharpen the back side, but at least for italian laws, double side sharpened knifes are illegal.

    Anyone have any idea how to mount this inside the waistband carry style like the crkt obake or spike from cs

    • @TTactical
      @TTactical  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If I understand correctly, I would pierce two holes in one of the molle clips to attach a small piece of paracord that loops around the belt.

    • @Konstantinos340
      @Konstantinos340 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thank you for the reply!. also if i were to pass a shoelace between the exising holes is the knife going to cut it? it doesnt look like there is a lot of room in there. another question, do u think its a good idea to carry this knife that way ? thank you again

    • @TTactical
      @TTactical  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Kon A shoelace in the existing holes will definitely not survive 😅 An other option would be to wrap it around the sheath in between the two molle clips to prevent it to slip away. About carrying that knife inside pants, I would say it’s not a problem but as with others in that kind of carrying method you should definitely be careful when deploying the knife not to cut some belly fat away 😁 For that reason I wouldn’t align the top of the sheath with the waistband, I would let it stick out at least a couple centimeters to have a better control of the tip of the blade when deploying...
