  • Looking for a fast, reliable, easy to use 3D printer that is capable of printing many types of filaments (including carbon fiber!)? Today we're checking out the K1C, part of Creality's flagship line of enclosed printers that boasts a 600 mm/s max printing speed, many auto features & calibrations (including auto z-offset and resonance compensation), a build-in camera, and over-the-air printing. In this video, we unbox and set it up, cover all the features, share results of some calibration tests, and analyze some of my latest prints in PLA and PETG-CF. I am definitely impressed with the speed and level of detail you can get with the K1C, particularly for the $559 price tag (on sale for $531 at the time of filming!).

    Ive had my k1c for a few weeks. I would suggest the following
    1.install moonraker and fluidd or mainsail. It really opens up the options you have with this printer
    2. look up a lid mod for this. The standard height the lid sits the chain will still slap it and knock the lid off.
    as always thanks for the video. Great as always!!

    Glue is mandatory for Petg and tpu if you don’t you will destroy the pei bed since they love to attach to the bed

  • @FishyAirsoft
    @FishyAirsoft หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Note on the glue stick. It isn't used to make the prints stick. It is to help the prints release from the bed. I ruined my build plate because I used a material that stuck so much to the bed it couldn't come loose without the bed ripping.
    Have been using glue since without problem.

    • @RCGirl
      @RCGirl  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah I've heard it used as a print release. I haven't really ever needed that either. Let the prints cool and they pop right off.

      It can do both. I've had prints that failed to stick without it, and other that stuck scary hard without it. Depends on the filament and the build-plate among other things.

    Great to see you doing these reviews, I think you will introduce a lot of people to 3D printing for the RC hobby. I've been doing it for years now, and also design my own custom parts for all my various hobbies ( slot cars, drones, and the printer itself ). Nothing like designing your own parts, and programs like Tinkercad, etc. are free, and very easy to learn.

      Thanks yeah that's the next step is designing parts. I have a new 3d scanner on the way as well!!

    You should look up the helper script to unlock full kipper mainsail and moon raker. I did that and the amount of control I get through mainsail is amazing and the klipper I put shaping and Nozzle/bed pid calibration is amazing you can even calibrate the belt vibrations.

    My cousin has a 3d printer where he uses a liquid to print things. Can this use a certain liquid to print things as well?

    • @RCGirl
      @RCGirl  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a resin printer (SLA). This is a FDM printer that essentially melts different plastics layer by layer. Resin printers can print in a lot more detail but uses a lot of toxic chemicals. Parts are also more brittle. So it depends on the application, both have pros/cons.

    This printer isn't a true CF printer as it doesnt have a heated chamber. Its great if your doing PeTGCf or PLACf. But not the best for nylonCF and other exotic materials.
    The K2+ will be their first real machine that will be a proper CF printer from Creality.
    Though for a cheap machine, it aint that bad.

    Half of the materials have a hard time sticking to the bed, certainly if the bed cooled down because you ran out of filament or whatever, the other half of the materials stick to hard, if you want to remove prints from the bed you damage the bed,.. That is why you use gluestick/ pva spray,...
