Final Fantasy 6 Forever Rachel Orchestral Remix

- This is my orchestral arrangement of "Forever Rachel", originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu. I used samples from a full orchestra to create this piece and put a lot of love and care into this song and video. I hope you enjoy it!
Forever Rachel is one of the most beautiful and (understandably) popular songs in the Final Fantasy series. Although Rachel is a relatively minor character in FF6, the impact she had on Locke is an important part of his character development. The story is tragic, and thus, so is the song; if you listen closely, you might noticed (if you haven't already) that the melody is a slower, more sombre variation of Locke's Theme. I covered this theme in my FF6 Epic Orchestral Medley (here, if you're interested: • Final Fantasy 6 Epic O... ) and bridged it together with a variant of Locke's Theme because of this, representing their interconnected story.

Nobuo uematsu is a friggin genius
One of my favorites! I wish more artists would cover this hauntingly beautiful piece. So great how Locke's leitmotif is woven in as they were dear to one another. It's like you can hear his heart breaking.
That story about locke and rachel,so sad,But it is beautiful in the same time.True love never die.I actually learned a lot about human feelings,relations,friendship,sacrifice,faith,courage,hope and much more as a kid playing this game,such a good game,it show the best and the worst about what people can be or become

Locke was hoping this time Rachel would survive, it can't be Forever Rachel if she keeps dying! Otherwise it's just "For a little while Rachel" and not "Forever Rachel".

still remember hearing this song as a boy and feeling moved in a way I didn't know a song from a video game could move me and this version stirs up similar feelings once again with a nice mixture of nostalgia to boot thank you Rebecca for writing and performing music from the heart like a true artist should

To this day, no other Final Fantasy game can beat this one. And for this song in particular, I can see this being in a play or love story.

This is ridiculously good! The style and tonality reminds me of Final Fantasy Tactics. Compared to the original, this version is a lot more dynamic and delicate, very impressive. :)

One of these moments which makes you wanna cry. Jeez, they were just tiny amounts of pixels, and yet, what a powerful feeling they would inspire me. To this day, one of the saddest and pathetic moment in my story as a gamer. How could you not feel devastated for Locke...?
Yeah! I just replayed it as an adult and found that scene pretty moving. Especially the summon he gets from her.

I remember back in the day when I played first time FF6 (maybe already 14 years ago) and I always wanted to know how it finished the storyline between Rachel and Locke, and I was really happy to see the ending, a little sad but also emotive looking how Locke was released of his inner pain, now free also to get with Celes a new road :)

;-) I really like how you emphasized the romantic sweep of the melody. At first, I was a little shaken by the major melody finish but the smooth approach throughout, including the end, is a totally appropriate way to demonstrate that despite Locke's past giving him "issues", he was pure-hearted throughout the mini-saga.
I gotta ask: Did you shed some tears when making this? If so, how often? (I ask probingly in front of all your fans...feel free to plead the fifth or something)
I sometimes cry while working on my songs. It's not out of sadness though! I just get swept up in the feeling of the music and I let it take me over completely. ^_^

Mostly pretty good, the main theme sometimes gets a little washed out by the rest of the instruments and around the 30 to 40 second it was a little weird with what sounds like one instrument playing and then another taking over but after a second listen it wasn't as bad as i thought and is actually pretty cool. This sounds great.
