So, this is my cover of Aeris's Theme from Final Fantasy 7, originally composed by Nobuo Uematsu. I did a different remix of the track a few years back, but I feel that I have improved a lot since then! I incorporated a few elements from the old work into this one, but it's mostly new. Anyway, I love FF7! Aerith/Aeries is also my favourite character from that game, and one of my top 10 from the entire series. I hope I was able to do her justice with this piece.

no reunion needed. Have you watched Advent Children? that isn't him imagining her, there is a japan only book which chronicles her becoming the avatar of the lifestream. Kind of a Thanatos Character helping people deal with their grief and merge into the lifestream. Aerith, Zack, Jesse, Biggs and Wedge are never far from the protagonists of FF7 canonically.

Which is basically what she tells him in Advent Children. It was never his fault. (yes that was canonically actually her via the lifestream)
The memory of Aerith is sometimes sad because of her role in the story of FFVII but in the bottom, Aerith is a character who represents the life and hope. The image is very well made because it's bright and colored what corresponds perfectly to the essence of the character. I liked very much listening to this theme with this picture in head because it reminds me beautiful and peaceful feelings I had when I played to FFVII, in particular at the beginning of the game. Your cover is great too... It's a very beautiful tribute :)

I was 12 years old 1997. My parents decided to move away to the countryside far from my friends and since I only had a gameboy with Zelda on before, always talking about FF, they gave me a ps1 with ff7 for the hassle. A year later or so they separated. I lived in ff7....
my memory card had some failure so most of the times it would erase it self when I got to disc three, I didn't really mind though, I mean, I thought I did, but I didn't.
While a remake will be cool nothing can take me away from the love I have for those polygon fat handed characters, the silliness, the stupid things that made me laugh that for sure will be gone with voice acting.
I look forward to see the remake, but nothing can overthrow the deep love and affection I have for the original. The first game I played with heart and soul, and also the last....
Yes. This is how I felt around that age to a large degree, so I can relate to this tale! For me it was an emulated version of FF4 that got me through my parents' fighting and a move to a new town in grade 7! I don't know whether or not Sakaguchi realizes the immense impact he's had on all our lives.

When I lived in Belleville I received this game for my first honor roll certificate and every day since then It has been my favorite rpg to play I still have the original copy from that day

I always picture Aerith as having never been alive, rather she was the embodiment of Gaia. And she returned to become the planet again to save everyone as a sacrifice of having a body to become her ultimate form: life.
I really enjoy that interpretation of it! Thanks! That kind of enriches the game for me.
I like the part where the embodiment of Life and the Planet threatened to cut off a mafia boss' balls.
Hironobu Sakaguchi said the game was supposed to be about life at its core.
He'd probably be really happy to read your depiction of Aerith.
You give Aerith a very christic role: the planet (God) giving birth to a avatar of Itself (Aeris, in the place of Jesus), embodying the godly will and the love It feels towards all beings. That avatar sacrificing itself for the sake of all, redeeming all sins (Shinra's wrongdoings and Sephiroth's summoning of the meteor).

I can't describe what's being done here. Aerith's theme is such a masterpiece, which really highlights the type of character she is... she is love, and life, almost unconditionally. That is exactly what you put into this arrangement, and it shows. Not many can truly encapsulate the feel of the original while making it their own, and for this I say thank you, for bringing me to a tears of happiness again.

The upcoming FF7 remake could only dream of having an Aerith's theme like this. You created a thick, lush sound, while still maintaining enough simplicity to keep from overwhelming the original track's melancholy feel. It almost sounds like something out of Howard Shore's Lord of the Rings soundtrack.
I would love to hear a small chamber orchestra play this version.

There is no guarantee that she will die, or anyone for that matter. That led to the bad ending, therefore we can assume: The unknown journey will continue, key word being "unknown".
When I heard this piece for the first time while Aerith's backstory is being told, it nearly brought me to tears, and still does when Aerith's backstory is being told. Aerith did not deserve to be skewered at all. Damn you Sepheroth!!

I am old enough to remember her as Aeris and I must say after spending hours in the crater grinding magic pots to master Knights of the Round several times, it only took 1 opening intro in the FF7 Remake and a song like this to bring me back to my teen years. Hard not to get emotional when your childhood is brought to life in a new way. So thank you for your dedication to your craft, it shows you enjoy what you do
Let me say that I love your touch on this theme, as Aerith is my favorite FF7 character and one of my favorite female characters in the FF series overall (If not my ultimate favorite, even though there are lots of beautifully written female character for this series), and the fate that befalled her tremendously affected me in my videoludic journey (be it through music or videogames), and she really opened the eyes of multiple generations of kids/teens by simply being herself and sharing her objectives to help create a better word through hardwork and, most of all, the hardships and sorrows that come into our lives whenever we try to reach out to something. I view her presence in the story like a little but bright blossom in an arid land, I fell in love with your music thanks to your interpretation of this marvelous piece of art, and I thank the TH-cam recommendation system for once for leading me to you. I wish you all the luck you deserve as a great composer and hope you find the most satisfying path while creating the music you (and we all) love.

Somehow, you've made Aerith's theme seem less sad and more hopeful? There are parts that are still sad, but it doesn't take over the whole thing like the original does.
This almost feels like it's telling the story of her life, the happy and the sad.
Also- I loved the inclusion of the Prelude. That was awesome.

Aeris didnt saved the world because she loved it. She saved it because it is the world that Cloud lives in.
This comment is old, but yes exactly. Not to say she didn’t love the planet. But ultimately it was her love for Cloud that made her go to the forgotten city by herself. The novel “the maiden who travels the planet” confirms this. She wanted to be selfish and stay by his side. But she chose to save and protect a future that involved Cloud living on 💔

Just recently got into Final Fantasy Vll with its remake and fell head over heels over the characters and beautiful music but the one character that stole my heart was none other than the flower girl 💜 I now listen to her theme religiously since the remake was dropped and finally after years, more than a decade of wanting this game, got my hands on the Original FFVll! This game is absolutely fantastic so far (just got to world map), and still Aerith is just purely such a fantastic character and this cover really captures her essences perfectly 💜

This arrangement inspired me to write a scene for my Final Fantasy fanfic and D&D game I'm currently hosting. I played this music while narrating. Needless to say, I couldn't hold back my tears in front of my players...
'Dominique woke up that morning in a hall next to a fire, with the rest of her traveling friends. Sari - a little 4 year old girl born with the gift of magic who she had been taking care of for the last 24 hours since the death of her parents - was already awake looking at the fire, smiling.
"Good morning Sari, you seem happy?" Dominique said inquisitively. Sari responded: "I saw my parents in the fire. They were with a beautiful woman with long wavy brown hair, she was carrying a basket of flowers and wearing red and pink clothes. She seemed really friendly! She said that even though she was really busy protecting the planet, she would make sure my parents would be safe. They said they were really proud of me for being so brave and that they trust you to take care of me now. That you have a good heart."
Dominique smiled and tried to hold back her tears, but obviously couldn't and said: "I'll make sure you're safe baby girl. I promise!" As Aerith smiled and believed with all her heart that Sari would be kept safe in the hands of Dominique and her friends, she proceeded to guide her parents' souls to safety in the lifestream.'
Aerith really is my best girl forever. I can't help but cry every time I hear her theme. You did so well!

This is as good, or better than the official orchestral versions released by Uematsu himself! And thank you so much for covering songs from the older FF games too! I played FF1 when it came out. I was in elementary school and it completely hooked me on JRPGs.

there are two kinds of people in this world people who prefer tifa over aerith and people who prefer aerith over tifa and I am definitely the latter to me aerith has always been such a unique and well realized character that I wanted to be more like and her theme, which I have many versions of, is a great representation of her which just makes this theme one of my favorite pieces of music period gaming or otherwise and your version here just does a wonderful job musically showing off all the apects of aerith that make her so great so thanks for that I couldn't have asked for a better version of this theme

This theme just reminds me of how bad I was at games when I was a kid. I never made it past costa del sol. Yet I loved the game, beat it a couple years back, still hold a high ranking in my favorite games of all time.
Most players didn't know, "Aerith is ancient of peace.
And Sephiroth is ancient of War".
During the gameplay of Final Fantasy 7.
But Sephiroth wasn't an Ancient/Cetra. He was a human enhanced with Alien cells. Jenova had been mistaken for an Ancient by Gast Faremis, Aerith's father, but Ifalna told him the truth.

This is so wonderful. Beyond disney wonderful. Beyond old barbie movies wonderful (even though i didnt watch them, i just assumed they have great orchestra). This is just so beautiful there's sadness hope and joy in this that is just wonderful to me.

I always cry listening to this.
So was relistening to this after playing the ff7 remake, got it back in my mind. Then for quarentine a band I like (Elbow) has been making long distance home recordings of their songs.
One of them, "Magnificent", has lyrics that struck me as lining up with Aerith. "Throwing both her arms around the world, a world that doesn't even know how much it needs this little girl." Even a reference to finding a peice of colored glass that she holds value in. Like dang, coincidence!

FF7 wasn't my first FF, nor is it in my top 5 FFs, but the theme itself is pretty high up on my beautiful VGM list. This version of it is just stunning. I'm gonna have to see if I can mod this theme into my PC version when I stream it....
I share you exact feelings about FF7/its music. I think my top 5 are 4, 6, 9, 5 and 12.
Yo buscaba hace años un personaje que me enamorara en el sentido de que ese personaje se ganase mi corazón y lo apreciara como tal, ya que no había tenido la oportunidad de encontrar uno (o al menos uno que fuera una chica) hasta que decidí jugar FF7, con el spoiler de Aerith.
Yo creí erróneamente que sería otra muerte genérica, aburrida, e insípida, pero, al ser ella ese personaje que tanto buscaba, su muerte me dolió muchísimo, lloré y lloré, y a día de hoy la extraño, verla en el remake de nuevo fue como un reencuentro más que una primera vez.
Aerith, la heroína de Final Fantasy VII, es y siempre será mi personaje favorito de los videojuegos.
