    Am I the only one who watches these videos while getting ready for work, thinking about the fact that there are other teachers doing the same thing I am and if they can do it I can do it too? I find it oddly comforting.

    For the beach ball, you could write questions on it and throw it around and when the kid catches it, whatever question their hand is on they answer that question.

    27:15 You can put your students into groups, then give each group a paddle, then ask the whole class a question and which ever group holds up their paddle first and has the right answer gets a point. Which ever group has the most points wins a piece of candy or something. :)

I give credit to my teachers for my achievements because they guided me and helped me become the person I am. Teachers are sounder rated. Just by your videos I can tell you are an amazing teacher and amazing person in general. I wish you and your kiddies the best always ❤️

    I have a beach ball suggestion. Use a Sharpie and divide the sections into smaller parts. Put a number in each section. Then toss the ball and students must multiply the numbers that their thumbs land on. You could increase the number of fingers that they have to multiply to make it more challenging. My students love “Math Ball” and even play during rainy day recess. I’ve used also used it for addition with younger students.

    I am currently working on my two year early childhood degree and I find your videos very inspirational. I just recently realized that you have a thing for sloths. I do, too. I have a small collection of four in my classroom on a shelf. I work as a TA in the AIS Math. I love your videos. I also love the Target dollar bins. Those little erasers are the best for math manipulatives.

    With the beach balls you could write different math problems on the ball then you could ask them which question is closest to their left them and if they answer it correctly they get some kind of prize. I play this game at my aunts school and I also play it at church it is really fun and a good way to memorize your math facts!

    Thanks for the google form tips. We have structured play but it’s called something else and it would be great to see what ideas you come up with for the activities. Learning to play co-operatively with others for some children it’s huge. Otherwise they would live on iPads, etc and never interact with others effectively. As always love the vlogs. I’m a 6th grade student. It was hard getting back into routine after our 19 day holiday break. But one thing that kept me motivated was knowing I would be able to see my friends and teachers. I disliked my teachers from last year because o truly felt like they weren’t as involved and energetic as my teachers this year. That has definitely helped a lot throughout the whole year. It’s hard going back to school, especially after breaks. More expectations towards the end of the year. Tests, and more homework. Sorry this was so long lol. Just wanted to share that

    There is a game they play in one of the science classes in my school, where there is a bunch of questions written on a ball, like a beach ball, and they would toss the ball around and what ever questions their thumb was on or near, they had to answer. So you could turn those beach balls into that for different subjects.

    Flicking the ball into the cup on mouse trap was so frustrating for me when I was younger. I remember sitting at the kitchen table crying because I could never get it to go in and I think (this was 20 years ago) that was the first step?

      I know exactly what you mean hahaha. It was super frustrating but it is perfect for engineering practice and problem solving! :)

    I think the whiteboard paddles are so you can write on the circle and hold it up by the handles! I love your channel so so much!!

    • @PocketfulofPrimary
      @PocketfulofPrimary  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, I am aware of that. When I said I would have to think about how to use them I meant specific instances when the paddles would be better than regular dry erase boards which I already use daily.

    If anybody is wondering about more online assessment options there is a website called GoFormative which has so many FREE options that are self grading. Learned about it in my educational technology class and I can’t wait to use it!

    Keep us posted on the games! I am really into euro gaming as a hobby, and have just picked up a few really cool kid versions of some of my favorites! One you might enjoy is Evolution: The Beginning, and Ticket to Ride: My First Journey. I am very currious about the Prime game and Lattice. Explorers is really cool too! It's like go fish, and the company that makes them also does other subjects too! Authors was one of my favorites as a kid!
