I didnt use chalk, but you could use earth tone chalk to simulate dust and dirt then fix it in place with thin pva glue or paint medium

Siiick. Question, did you use some sort of clear coat once everything was finished?

i clear coated the chrome with al clad clear kote, but didnt seal the whole helmet, the gray is matte, the blue is satin and the chrome is shiny so i didnt want to make them all look too similar
