    Adding texture to hide layer line is brilliant.

    this is so fucking cool. people wondering why this isn't done after a month are insane. Ask Punished props how long some of their helmets take, let alone an entire space suit, ask Daryl from Offearth 3D how long his ODST armour took, this shit takes time and we can see the effort you've put in here, you're rocking it

      Exactly.. even without hold ups, for every step for a whole lotta pieces.. it takes months, if not a year.

    This already looks supercool! Such a project takes time. For my first two kits, they took me two years (okay, maybe one, as basically worked on them parallel). I got them approved by the Mando Mercs. My problem with them that pretty much every event is several hours worth of driving away from where I live, which also means expensive accomodation every time. So I started to contact a local Star Wars group (I do not enjoy walking around in a costume just on my own), which seems more reasonable to me in these times.

    For helmet ventilation.
    There are Positive air pressure hoods for industrial use. The air hose could go under the armour up to the helmet. And a second hose into the armour for body cooling. Fans can be belt mounted and disguised.

    Looks badass! In my experience velcro does not work well when you start sweating. Even with a helmet fan it gets hot AF here in central Texas

    I’ve always loved some gauntlets, even so, the entire armour is amazing! Love to see all the different designs people have too.

      The mando armour is on a bit of a pause atm, but the soft parts are definitely nowhere near as done as the hard armor parts, was rushing to get those done for halloween, still gotta get a sewing machine too :P

    Good for you, it looks great! The amount you have to learn, acquire, experiment with, redo etc. for building Mandalorian armor (and I assume most cosplay-type stuff) is amazing. It was easy for me to think oh, I print a lot of stuff, this will be mostly a printing project....but you're just getting started when you pull those parts off the bed! It's been two years since I made my first helmet on the v2.4 and I don't think I'll be ready for this Halloween either!

    about the magnets; I once watched a video (don't remember now) that two opposing magnets being side by side (one near/next to the other) make them stronger than just the sum of the "strength" of them independently, by the way their magnet field behave together (there where pictures explaining this in the video, sorry).
    Sounds to me like a good info and I since been curious to incorporate this principle while designing 3d printed parts (I am designing a 3d printer carriage/print head system to use this, but have not reached a prototype stage yet with it), and I hope it helps others reading this!

    How do you take the STLs and figure out at which angle to print them on the bed or how can you slice things for smaller printers?

    • @CanuckCreator
      @CanuckCreator  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on the item really, some things are pretty obivious, others take a bit of thinking and somethimes it better to split a model and print it multiple parts.
      The stl pack i bought just had all the parts as is, nothing pre-orientated for slicing

    Love the progress so far! It's coming together beautifully. I wish there was some way to put a mic in the helmet and build basically a tiny PA system into it, but I don't think speakers small enough to incorporate into the suit would sound anything but tinny. Shame, that.
    Cheers!

    Just working on my own custom Mandolorian armor. Im mixing different parts too, a lot already printed a year ago. Just today i downloaded the Galactic armory heavy mandolorian armor for further part mixing. I was also wondering how to fit into that chest piece...man i wish i had seen this video before my purchase. Do you think it would fit better when scaling up the wide 10%? Im just wondering because it will take a time to print. Or maybe using a heater after print to bend it? What do you think? Good work so far man. Greets from Germany.

    • @CanuckCreator
      @CanuckCreator  ปีที่แล้ว

      I ended up using a different chest piece STL i got off etsy, my torso is in no way narrow enough for the galactic armoury one

    • @pdude83
      @pdude83 ปีที่แล้ว

      Even if it would be 10% bigger or when bending it? I measure around for a day now and im still not sure if i will get into that piece...thanks for your answer
      Getting the right size for armor prints is always Horror
      Guess i will start print friday with two machines, two pieces...i hope its not a waste of time

    I'm a little confused, why do you need the approval to make armour for a costume? Lol explain please

    • @copperdiablo2717
      @copperdiablo2717 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To my understanding, when joining the Mandalorian mercs, an armor needs to be constructed under alot of guidelines for "approval" to join. No pockets on flightsuits, no mixing and matching of armor from different eras of Star Wars. Certain things need to be a certain color or length, for examples. It's to keep everyone's costumes at a consistent level of quality, since they go out in public for charities, marches and other events.

    • @frankcastle3827
      @frankcastle3827 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@copperdiablo2717 i see, that's wack .. I'ma make my own Mando armour but it's going to look like something completely different... in my opinion I think the stormtrooper and Mando armour sucks... too plane and ugly ..
