    • @holmer9413
      @holmer9413 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SD-Plumbing-Heating yeah, and you can over do it too. Ask me how I know. lol. It's how I started for sure. I just over time kept moving the ball back farther trying to get the crisp ball first connections I was missing because I was swaying. And the farther back I moved the ball the more it turned. 30 yard wide draws with the driver. Sand wedges were turning 20 feet in the air. There were holes I couldn't play because trees lined the right too close and I couldn't hit it any other way.
      So yeah, it can go too far. But, I fixed that and if you end up needing to later, you will too.

    This is GOLD. I was a chronic slicer. I thought for years I had to move the ball forward to give me time to close the face. It just made things worse. A few years ago I moved the ball back, drop my hands to come from the inside, and started hitting beautiful shots. The ball position felt wierd at first but just trust it. It works.

    We have a real short par 4 that I can reach with my 5 wood for a first hole on the home course. My favorite shot is putting the ball just behind center stance and hitting a big draw to that hole. There's an evergreen of some sort that stands 50 foot tall about halfway there that I wrap the ball around the top of. It's so satisfying when I get it right.

I recently moved the ball just slightly more forward in my stance to try and get under it more and now am hitting a nice fade when i need one. I had wondered why i had started being able to fade the ball again. With this info i should now be able to learn where in my stance the ball needs to be for both fade and draw.

    I know this is probably going to annoy some of the life-long slicers out there, but I've never had that problem and despite not being a very good golfer, I don't think it's very hard at all to correct a slice. My father, who is 79 years of age sliced about 1/2 of his drives and I was able to explain to him why it was happening and get him to fix it in about 10 minutes lol. Once he understood that it was his club head that was imparting the side spin on the ball because of his swing path, he could visualize the difference between my hits and his (mine are square on the face and dead straight). I think most people who slice the ball and can't fix it, are simply swinging too hard and that's why they can't stop because doing something at full speed makes it much harder to fine tune things.

    Clubface manipulation is the reason people slice , the clubface should close naturally and you should let it , if i want a fade i hold it open a bit if i want a hook then i do whats being described , turning slicers into hookers isnt the answer .
    Im an ex slicer that progressed to hooker and it can be traumatic hitting all over the show .
    Ideally find a swing thats repeatable and a way of gripping that closes the face through the ball at the same point naturally and without any manipulation .
    This is what should be getting taught not some fix .
    Slicers try to hit down the target line and thus hold the face open , its not an over the top the problem its manipulation or thinking you must .
    Put the ball anywhere and a slicer will slice ( or pull eventually)
    Lets have some honest teaching .
    Find a swing thats fluid and repeatable.
    Find a grip that suits it and eliminates the need to manipulate the face ( impossible to repeat ).
    Hit balls , have fun .

    You need to make up your mind buddy. First you want us to set up like Jon rahm and then you want us to move the ball back in our stance so that we are hitting the ball in line with our right thigh. I would say you're probably the top 50 golf coaches if you measured them on the basis of how much they could confuse😂 if I put the ball that far back in my stance I would cup my left wrist more trying to make contact with the ball instead of having bowed or flat wrist at impact. A ball that far back in their stands for someone that comes in over the top is just going to cause an even worse attacking angle. Congratulations to you for being able to hit the ball well from all of these weird positions🎉

      @@RealDeeArthur I’d love to be there when you walk up to a tour pro and tell them the same thing. I read from your comment that if you “put in the time” that an individual (including a top tournament professional) could actually achieve this level of perfection. Read the title of the video again then look up the definition of “never.”
