      Stoked to be riding the red dirt gold at Cuyuna with you, we hit all the classics this day. Now Sinter and Sledgehammer need to be open for once there!

      Cuyuna is always a great ride, especially with Jeremy showing me the Dialed in route on all these classics!

      "Now that's some TECH!" Haha always great riding with Dialed In, he really knows the Cuyuna Lakes trail system and showed me all the good stuff! Sinter and Sledgehammer are always closed when I'm there so still need to get back there sometime when they're open.

      @@AndrewGehn Absolutely! A great guide. I'd be down to try and get a group going there sometime this summer. I went last year and struggled to get enough speed for the jumps/ features.

      @@Kirk_Knoll Absolutely, a group ride here sounds like a great time! I’ll ask Jeremy about riding here again sometime, he can show us sinter and sledgehammer!

      It was a great opening weekend at Cuyuna, trails were running the best I’ve ever seen them. Hope you get up there for a ride!

    Outstanding riding and footage you guys. It was great meeting yous during the later hours of this day. From the looks of it, I missed you on Sand Hog and Roly Poly by mere minutes.

      Thank you, it was perfect conditions at Cuyuna and it was great to meet you and talk at the end of a great ride. I think by mere seconds on Sand Hog Mountain, I’m pretty sure that was you through the trees around 9:50 !

    After replacing two derailleur last year I won't do a skinny unless it's straight or at least 8 inches wide. 😢. Hiw were the trails overall?

    • @AndrewGehn
      @AndrewGehn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Trails were great at Cuyuna, Bobsled was running the best I’ve ever seen it. Good call, I’ve seen more than a few derailleurs get wrecked by skinnies

    • @Dialed1
      @Dialed1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Harry, I hear you on the derailleur bashing, I’ve burned through a couple now also due to falling off a damn skinny.

    Great video! Nice riding, as usual. I need to get to Cuyuna. Way to handle those skinnies! I’m beginning to love skinnies more and more. I love the challenge. How’s the ankle coming along? It takes a long time to get back to full strength after a serious injury. It’s definitely mental and physical.

    • @AndrewGehn
      @AndrewGehn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Randal, if you haven't ridden Cuyuna before it's a great trail system to ease into the dirt season. I love skinnies too, I used to ride them all the time when I lived near the metro, now none of the trails near me have skinnies and I'm getting rusty at them. We both got serious injuries last year, you joined the Clavicle Club and I joined the Fibula Fraternity. It certainly is a long, tough process both mentally and physically that you just can't understand until you've gone through it personally. The ankle is mostly better, since I had a triple fracture and a syndesmosis tear it will take 1-2 years until it's fully healed, but it feels good enough to ride after recovering since the incident in August.

    • @Randy_Johnson

      @@AndrewGehn Great news about the ankle. It sounds like you’re on the road to recovery. Yeah, it’s a tough road to full recovery for sure. It took about a year for my collarbone to heal and get back to full strength. As a matter of fact, today is the anniversary. It took 3-plates and 18-screws to put it back together. The surgeon said it was the worst collarbone injury he’s seen in 35-years of surgery. I’m healthy now and ready to ride! We don’t have a lot of skinnies around the Duluth area, either. I made my own out of 2x6x12’s. I have three of them and can lay them at different angles to challenge me, rather than just having a straight one. They’re slightly elevated. Nothing too crazy, but it’s great practice. I need to get to Cuyuna. Never been, but heard it’s amazing.

    • @AndrewGehn
      @AndrewGehn  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Randy_Johnson Glad you were able to make a full recovery, that sounds like a brutal injury with 3 plates and 18 screws. My injury anniversary is in August, hoping my ankle continues to improve.

    • @Randy_Johnson
      @Randy_Johnson ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@AndrewGehn It’s sort of crazy, because if I run my finger along my collarbone, I can feel a couple of screw heads!!

    • @AndrewGehn

      Wow, glad you’re excited for your trip to Cuyuna and enjoyed the video that much! I’m not sure about switchback videos, I know Brian Vaughn and Ridin’ Dirt have lots of videos at Cuyuna, I’d look there.

    The uphill rock garden qualifiers are stupid.

    • @AndrewGehn
      @AndrewGehn  ปีที่แล้ว

      They have the right intention so that people can check themselves before they wreck themselves but they should at least match the style of trail. It's hilarious that you're qualified to ride a downhill jump line after riding the exact opposite qualifier. There's a couple other stupid things about that trail too but it's just beating a dead horse at this point. Overall a great trail system though and I always have a good ride here.
