No dolphins were hurt in the making of this video...🤣 What an awesome result on your floating cabin! You'd never guess looking from the outside how spacious it feels on the inside. The additional floating docks will knock it out of the park. Amazing job y'all!!
I'm so glad the youtube algorithm directed me to your channel! You both brightened up my week, every week since. I race home from work every Friday just to watch your videos
Now that your project is almost complete and I have no doubt that it will sell very quickly.. you both deserve a nice vacation… there are many places that accommodate pets.. so you don’t have any excuses bring the baby with you. You both did a magnificent job. It looks amazing. Congratulations.
My annual family beach vacay is next week! 🙌 might not be 1000% done with the house by then, but it was planned way in advance so we’re taking the week off anyways. 😝 Thank you!
Just coming home to that girl's happy dance on the deck would make every day better! ❤ The new island has added so much to the living space of the cabin. Absolute beauty! I hope the person who buys it will get to see these videos of hard work you put into creating their new home. Have a great week! Looking forward to next weekend already😊
I'll just bet that you could wrap that hole in the compressor hose with a sheet of Alien Shield and it would shut up! Not too long ago I came out of the store to find that someone had bumped a jagged chunk out of my rear light panel on my old Mazda 5, and after I slapped a sheet of this amazing stuff over it, leaving the plastic film on the outside, I swear you have to get right up to it to even see the repair. It's holding up real well, it's waterproof, and if that sheet ever looks like it's giving up the ghost, I'll just slap on another one! Also, thank you for teaching me what to do with the slightly rusting roof panel of said microvan!! I got a can of elastomeric paint for outdoor metal roofs, and, as soon as we reliably stop having rain around here, I'm gonna roll on several coats. I can't hardly wait🌤 Give Iko a big 💋 for me, well, maybe a hug🤗🐾
Very cool, we will have to get some of that stuff for future repairs! one of our patreon members saw this video and actually just mailed us a new hose! 😅🙏 so we’ll prob just ditch the old one! 🙌 Before you do the elastomeric coating, probably would be good to do a coat or two of primer! The rust will sometimes still come back thru the roof paint, no matter how many coats, if not primed first. We learned that the hard way once! 🙈🤍
I look forward to the chapter when what was 3 becomes 4! Sarah, you’re such a fun loving mom to Iko, can’t wait for the wee folk to join in. But, all in good time. The house is looking so good, almost done.
Howdy, Sarah, Brandon, & Iko! Wow, y’all will be done before you know it! The new place is so cute! Y’all will have so much free time on your hands once the new place is finished and sold. Can’t wait to see what you come up with next….although, was that Brandon dropping some hints? LOL. Hope you have a wonderful weekend. See ya next week!
I really enjoy your channel and look forward to each episode. FYI...I keep a boat in a southern California marina. To combat mold and moisture, it is common practice to keep a dehumidifier on board. In case you don't use such things, I thought you might appreciate the suggestion. They work great and we never have any issues. Take care and keep up the good work.
dehumidifier is a MUST 🙌 we have one rated for 3x the square footage of our house and even so, it’s astounding how many times a day it fills up 🥴😆 but it does keep moisture under control!
Hi Guy's, I have to say I think you Knock this build out of the park.👌 I'm sure someone is going To fall in love with it ! You definitely have a way of makeing your place and this one warm and inviting and Functional. Stay safe and happy 👍 🇨🇦 Craig
Hey S&B! We’re loving how you transformed the floating cabin! The stove island came out perfect! Funniest moment of the video was Miss bear and the rope fish. LOL! Have a great week! T&C!
HA! me too.... "Go Home" ..... I always say. ...."okay, get out" to friends and family after a long visit here. I hate loooooooooooooong good byes at the front door..... lol.
Note: That appears to be a slide in range, which you made the island too high to install properly. It is supposed to slide over the counter to keep spills from the stove or the counter top from running down the side of the range. I assume it could be caulked in if it will stay sealed, but never tried that myself when delivering from my store. You would have days without rain in July or August, but I use tarps when when needed in the spring, one it gets set. I once painted a shed and a couple hours later a storm blew up and washed about half of it off in stripes.
Everything looks amazing in the new cabin! I was unprepared for this episode to be about putting in the final touches. It feels like coming to the end of a great book- very satisfying but also sad!! 🥰❤
I was unprepared too! 😂 it has snuck up on us. But alas - it is not quite the end! You still have the extra docks we have yet to build to look forward to (will be a huge difference!), and a few other fun little things. Happy you’ve enjoyed the journey 🥰🙏
Well thank you! We figured these little touches were moreso just “staging” 🙌 still trying to leave room for a buyer to put their own touch on it if desired! But if it sweetened the deal, I could certainly fully decorate it before purchase 😉
I know how annoying an Air compressor can be, they drove me nuts on the job site. I solved it by buying extra long hose and extension cords, we placed them outside covered by a three sided ice chest. Less noise
We used to have a couple of those chairs. Not great for taller people. If you want to stretch out your legs that metal bar kills the back of your legs.
Oh gotcha, interesting! brandon is 6’1, not short but not super tall, but thankfully he’s been loving them. think it will be just us using them 99% of the time so if it’s fine for him I reckon that’s all that matters! 😋
I know you’ve said it in previous videos but now I can’t find it. What do you use to stain? I always love how good it looks even when you used it on older boards.
Just curious and i hope this doesnt sound stupid, but wouldn't a composite wood planking be a better decking material than a pressure treated lumber since the composite wood doesn't need yearly staining and maintenance? Or is it problem with mold/slime issue? Ive seen comments both positive and negative comments about it in wet conditions. What do you think?
Composite wood like Trex would DEFINITELY be better! It’s better in every way haha, no comparison & no negatives except 1 crucial thing… cost. It’s super expensive in comparison to wood. We weren’t able to afford it when we built the house. Maybe one day!
No need, standard culinary grade stain/sealant is fine. 😊 Marine products are important in saltwater environments because of the corrosive salt in the air and water, but in a freshwater environment, unless the surface is actually IN the water (like the floats on this house), marine grade products really aren’t necessary. besides the floating foundation, everything else is no different than the materials you’d use for a lakefront home 20ft away on land
oh how weird! i’ve never had that happen, though that could be a function of being on the water. I wonder if the worms came already in the ferns or from the ground and made their way up!
not to preach but, any sun exposer you get now you will regret in your old age as sun and smoking cause the most wrinkles and skin damage / I hope you use as much sunscreen as possible because you will get all and enough sun exposer with trying on purpose / I want you all to live your best, long and happy lives
Thank you & yes - sunscreen always!! 🙌 have been wearing it on my face every day since I was 12, even in the winter! And always on body in the spring/summer. I don’t think i’ll ever regret an hour outdoors under the sun, as it brings my soul alive in a way being indoors doesn’t, but I know I will regret times i’ve forgotten to wear or reapply sunscreen 😆
Love seeing the pure joy on Iko’s face when she sees mommy & daddy coming home to her!! 😍😍 Sooooo sweet!!
Nothing purer or sweeter out there! 🥲
Always, always love your music choices!! Down home, upbeat and southern/southern rock/bluegrass all the way. Can't go wrong with that!! 🙂
that’s right!! 😎
No dolphins were hurt in the making of this video...🤣 What an awesome result on your floating cabin! You'd never guess looking from the outside how spacious it feels on the inside. The additional floating docks will knock it out of the park. Amazing job y'all!!
🤣 thanks so much!! Yes, can’t wait for those extra docks!! Probably coming in another 2 weeks or so! 🙌
I'm so glad the youtube algorithm directed me to your channel! You both brightened up my week, every week since. I race home from work every Friday just to watch your videos
Love hearing this 🥲🤍 thank you & so glad you’re enjoying!
Iko's little dance shuffle is just the best! And WOW - is your project looking fine!
Nothing better than her lil dance!! 💓 thank you!
Now that your project is almost complete and I have no doubt that it will sell very quickly.. you both deserve a nice vacation… there are many places that accommodate pets.. so you don’t have any excuses bring the baby with you. You both did a magnificent job. It looks amazing. Congratulations.

it seriously does!! even a hard day can’t be too bad when you come home to that happy dance 🥲❤️❤️

Appreciate that!! Only way we know how to do things 💪
It's always a joy to watch you guys every week. Keep them coming.
💙💙 will do!
I look forward to the chapter when what was 3 becomes 4! Sarah, you’re such a fun loving mom to Iko, can’t wait for the wee folk to join in. But, all in good time. The house is looking so good, almost done.

Thanks so much!! 🥰 we’ve got a wedding to plan after this, so no more big projects till at least after that ! 😅💓
I think Iko needs some wooden fish toys! Lol. The house is lookin great. Those new chairs look extremely comfy! Another great video! Thank you
Maybe so! 😋 haha thanks!! 🥰

Hahaha she is so silly. 🐶 Thanks yall!!!
Oh damn!! You mean the chaotic world time you escaped from didn't line up with peaceful easy going lifestyle!!😂 love you guys!
🤣 pshh when u live with Brandon there ain’t no escaping chaos! 🤪
-Sarah
HA! me too.... "Go Home" ..... I always say. ...."okay, get out" to friends and family after a long visit here. I hate loooooooooooooong good byes at the front door..... lol.
Hahaha SAME. Love time with our loved ones of course, but also love our own space & us time! 😆
So glad to have found your channel. Love what you've done with the houseboat.
❤️❤️ happy to have you here!

Woot woot!!! That looks incredible! Well done! You should be able to sell that NO PROBLEM! Thanks for sharing guys 🥰😍❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Our pleasure! Thank you!!! 🙏
Got to love the akita bear feet shuffle like as if was goinc to attack someone .Always so playful .
So silly! 🥰
Ya'll literally made a video of me showing you how to over/under an air hose!!
Ya it is time again for staining the deck again and ya I am glad you are getting more deck chairs and both house are looking great nice job guys
Yes! Thank you! 🙏
Still subscribed and still lovin’ the channel. 👍👍👍

Wow.... Awesome finish to the deck and Reno👌🏾
Appreciate it! 🩵🩵
Both floating homes are looking great. Aren't you just so excited for spring/summer?
(Love Ferris Bueller)
Absolutely!!! 🙌 & Ferris Bueller is the BEST. Never gets old!
Comment: Good video..
Thanks for the comment! 🤠
I hadn't considered that you would also decorate the place when we were discussing via email !! You have great taste!
Well thank you! We figured these little touches were moreso just “staging” 🙌 still trying to leave room for a buyer to put their own touch on it if desired! But if it sweetened the deal, I could certainly fully decorate it before purchase 😉
Summertime Summertime woohoo 🙌 it's just around the corner. Congratulations on finishing your project. 😊
Loving every bit of it! We’re almost there - still gotta build & add those extra docks to the exterior! 🙌
wow that Iland looks great
🙏🙏🙏
Your background music is soooo good.
Also - what’s the first song - slow down momma ??
Sounds like you have good taste 😉🤠 first song is called Dontcha Wanna, by Gabriel Kelley
We all love Bear she good girl
the best 🥹
Looking great! That's the way to do it!
whoop whoop! Thank you!
I know how annoying an Air compressor can be, they drove me nuts on the job site. I solved it by buying extra long hose and extension cords, we placed them outside covered by a three sided ice chest. Less noise
Nice!! That is worth the effort - they are SO annoying 😆
@@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses Glad I could help.
Lovely!! You're both such hard workers!! You may need to raise the stove up to be slightly above the wood countertop for safety reasons.
Thank you!! 🙏 we will add a heat shield around the countertop 🙌
Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊
Our pleasure 😊
it looks amazing
Thank you! ❤️
So lucky you stained your deck when you did, with a rain soon after.
Worked out for the best!! 🙌
We used to have a couple of those chairs. Not great for taller people. If you want to stretch out your legs that metal bar kills the back of your legs.

I know you’ve said it in previous videos but now I can’t find it. What do you use to stain? I always love how good it looks even when you used it on older boards.
We mix a gallon of cabot stain & sealant neutral base (bark mulch tint) with a quart of minwax golden oak 210b! ✨
@@KeepingAfloatWiththeJoneses thank you!!
P.S. your channel is one of my favorites!
15:35, if you're falling down a cliff... grab an air hose, because that damned thing will catch on everything on your way down!
😆😆
Are there rules stopping you from moving to one side further and putting in a rope bridge to shore.
Can’t add a bridge to shore but we could adjust the position of the house if needed!

When is summer level reached ?
Memorial day usually!
Are you guys in NC? Are there any houses currently for sale? Thanks so much!
yes! & the one in this video is for sale, the Blue Bungalow 😊 shoot us an email at floatingonfontana@gmail.com if you’d like listing info!
Don't you seal it with some kind of marine polyurethane?
No need, standard culinary grade stain/sealant is fine. 😊 Marine products are important in saltwater environments because of the corrosive salt in the air and water, but in a freshwater environment, unless the surface is actually IN the water (like the floats on this house), marine grade products really aren’t necessary. besides the floating foundation, everything else is no different than the materials you’d use for a lakefront home 20ft away on land
I stopped hanging ferns. Every time I tried ferns I would get these big fat worms that would eat the ferns and leave poop all over the floor.
oh how weird! i’ve never had that happen, though that could be a function of being on the water. I wonder if the worms came already in the ferns or from the ground and made their way up!
tie a plastic bottle under the chair so it floats if it falls in
Hahah though they are light, I don’t think 50 plastic bottles would float one of these chairs (but sure would make em look funny) 😝
. i know your games . 😂❤
😂🥰
Ok now that you’re just about done with the cabin the world wants to know…….what next???????
A wedding! 😝 no projects till after that! 👏 Lol
