Excellent video! Excellent diagnosis and explanation. I have a 2005 Corvette and you better believe this video will be in collection "just in case" Your Vette sounds amazing! Im north of you in Alabama and this video is so appreciated
I'm watching this with great interest. My LS7 has been at the dealership shop all this week. I got into the car after it sat and it would crank, sputter a bit, but, no start. Eventually, I had it flat bedded to a dealership I use. The advisor was able to start it the next morning--of course! The advisor just called and said they did everything they could think of and couldn't replicate the problem. So I'm asking if they can just replace the FP relay and anything related controlling the ignition and fuel... just in case the issue only shows up when very hot. This has got to be THE worst kind of problem.
A really well made video. I feel if I am ever faced with this problem, I’ll know what to do. Thank you so much. You more than earned a like and sub from me..
I seem to have the same issue with my 11 GS, it was taken to the dealer and fuel pump was replaced. Not even a week later the same issue no start. I’m starting to think this is the issue.
Did all above, contact should be good but cranks, no fuel, no start. Reminds me of cranking with throttle to floor to circulate oil after sitting awhile and not starting till remove full throttle.
hey my friend, Thanks I will try this I'm having the same problem with my 2008 Corvette Z06, I put in two fuel pumps module in my car thinking that was the problem. I'm here in Ocala, FL
Hey. I know this is a old thread so I hope you see it. My 2011 GS would not start and I replaced the fuel pump fuse. The 20 Amp one. It started but after a couple of weeks it would only start intermittently. It would be fine for a few days and then it wouldn't fire. Then the next day it would. Now it haven't fired for the last 3 days.🤨
@@southfloridagearheads HEY I watched your video again and pulled the relay for the pump. I just reseated it and it started right up. So maybe it was just loose or the pins in the box are getting bad. But anyway thanks a million!! You most likely saved me a bundle.😃
Excatly same issue with my 2012 GS. Have a hard time sepearting the fuse box to expose the bottom connectors. Any tips? I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
I just upgraded to a Mechanic alternator. Mid ride car started jerking hard at idle. Once I shut it off it wouldn't start back up again. I've heard I need to upgrade my wiring. Any thoughts?
Could this be bad even if I don't see any brown marks? Been dealing with this issue for a year now with no luck. Fuel pump was replaced. Fuse block looks fine.
GM opens official investigation into C8 Corvette transmission leaks I wish GM would open an investigation into the inherent manufacturing defect involving premature valve failure of the LS7 427 engine. I just have my heads refurbed of my 2013 at 6k miles and the intake valve had .012 wobble from side to side vs a factory spec of .003 to .005 allowable. This resulted in me spending $5,350 dollar to remedy the defect. After reading a plethora of horror stories about numerous LS7 engine failures I felt anxious about driving my car and wanted to fix my engine ASAP and not a moment to soon!!!! ........this problem seems to be potentially common to all LS7s built between 2006 and 2013!!!!! This whole clusterfuct on GMs part has prompted me to write to NHTSA and voice my concerns!!!! An engine locking up unexpectantly from valve failure would be a safety hazard and could cause loss of life!!!!
Yes, I had shared the same experience with my exhaust valves having excessive wear at around 20k miles. As I approach the 10k mile mark with the re-worked heads I plan to do another check on the valves. It would be good to see GM take accountability for this issue but being two generations old now I dont think we will see it. With our resources it would be interesting to compile a list of all the c6 z06 owners, and also gen 5 camaro z28 owners and see out of the total number of production cars how many dropped valves and caused engine failure. My friend who works at chevy has already had a few c8 come in with broken valve springs. And now transmission oil leaks..
2009 Z06 with 26,000 miles. Parked it in the garage on Monday and on Tuesday morning it wouldn’t start. This video saved my ass!!! THANK YOU!!
Great video. I would've been guilty of jumping the gun and replaced the fuel pump, but i'm glad you did all the preliminary tests.
I’m with you 😂
Excellent troubleshooting, happy to see you were able to figure it out and back on the road
thanks man, you helped guide me toward the fuel being the problem.
You have no idea how great this video is, saved my buddies car that pin sure enough was loose and burning the plastic around it!
Wow. I would’ve definitely replaced the fuel pump before even looking under there. Great video 😂 👌🏼
Yea me too .
Down to the exact wire the exact problem I was dealing with god bless you my G

Thank you hope you dont come across this issue, but if you do, now you know how to tackle it! cheers!

Precisely what happened to mine. Your well done walkthrough saved the day. Good work! Thank you
Enjoy
God I love to sound of your vette!!! If I ever make it to south Florida, gotta take me for a ride
That would be cool man! Make sure to bring some snap-on tools over with you!
Thank you brotha.. followed you step by step and got started up immediately 🤙🏾
Great Video per usual man! Keep them coming!

possible. would need to take the fuse box apart to verify

they are pretty stiff. you just need to grab the bottom and wiggle back and forth to separate them. maybe try a small flat head to help you.

New to the channel. What part of south Florida are you in?
Welcome to the channel. Fort Lauderdale area!
My brother lives there, loves it!!
Could that still be the issue if the spring area isn’t brown?
possibly. the color just shows you the excessive heat from the poor connection.
I just fixed mine same exact issues fuse # 55 1 prong was burnt

@@rbfoertsch69 could still be that pin. did you pull everything apart and look at the pin itself?
@@southfloridagearheads absolutely! Can't see anything wrong. I'm looking for a new one now. Seems to be discontinued.
@@rbfoertsch69 looks on the forums. I remember someone making up a kit to bypass the fuse block and use external relay or something.

Scary, that tiny thing and it stopped The whole car
Where do you get this pin?
I was able to bend mine back. I'm not sure where you can buy it. maybe an electronic component store. it's probably a standardized connector
