    Did you find one of the rounds particularly powerful? #1 Heart 💖, #2 Third Eye 👁 or #3 The Crown 👑?

    • @claudiacano1774
      @claudiacano1774 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, this exercise do you only use the mouth to breath?

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@claudiacano1774 Yes. Typically it is taught in this way. If you want, you can breathe in through the nose and out through the mouth. But I find, to get the most powerful effect, mouth breathing is best.

    I am also Wim Hof and kundalini tantra practitioner . I do my breathing practice very similar to this video. Only differences is that i usually make four rounds. In the fourth round i focus on the descent of kundalini Shakti from crown chakra into my heart and also dripping of Soma from Pineal gland down to my heart. This is what is known in a kundalini practice as descent of Devi into the hart.

    I have intuitively been doing this practice on the manipura and utilize the slower bhastrika breathing that is wim hof breathing. Building the fireball sun within the abdomen. I do the empty retention visualizing the energy going from the fireball clearing my nadis throughout my body during the empty retention phase. Then I breath in and do a long internal retention gathering that energy into the fireball and purifying it then breathing out and watching the flame rise through sushumna through all the chakras above and out the crown cascading down around as golden light energy. I do about 3 to 5 rounds of this and there is a sound of discarnate hissing like it is outside me in the room. I have been doing this practice for a few weeks and much of my negative thinking and attitudes have gone. I also feel more energy to do things and less lethargic. One side effect is similar to wim hof I can have ice cold showers no problem also my hands become very hot. I often follow this process with mantra japa of the mantra I have been initiated into and have found the benefits of japa manifesting much more as of late

      @RefeelYoga  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Amazing Chris! This is a beautiful practice. Thank you so much for your clear and detailed description of your intention and visualization. I really like it! You're taking this practice to a very advanced level!
      I wonder if after, when you hear the "hissing" in the room around you, if you can try to bring that sound inside and render it into a high pitched ringing vibration from within your being. This is what would be referred to as the _nada_ and can be a very powerful form of meditation, which would pair very well with your mantra japa after. At a certain point it will seem almost as if the mantra "echoes" and blends into one with this high pitch of the nada.
      Let me know if you give it a try. And thank you again for your sharing 🙏💕

    Hi Andrew, wonderful technique. Is the inhalation and exhalation happening through mouth?

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, through the mouth. Sometimes I like to inhale through the mouth and nose simultaneously, but exhale through the mouth.
      We want to fill and expand the lungs as much as possible (comfortably), on the inhale, and just relax and let the exhale be more passive.

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  ปีที่แล้ว

      The body is always vibrating, in a myriad of different rhythms, which change throughout our days, weeks, lives, etc. The more still the mind becomes the more aware we can be of these different vibrations. So this buzzing is always there, it's just that usually the mind is too busy to notice it.

    Lovely beach background! 😍 I noticed that it is a lot easier for me to hold the breath while contracting Muladhara as opposed to holding the breath and relaxing the body totally. Is that weird?

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      No it's not weird at all. Especially if you've been practicing with Mulabandha for some time and it is comfortable for you. On the physical level, it gives you something to focus your mind on, which is a big component to keeping the mind calm, which of course helps you with holding the breath longer. As well, on the energetic level, it's keeping the energy contained within so you are actually conserving energy/prana, another factor to holding the breath longer.
      If it helps, and is comfortable, you can use Mulabandha at any time throughout this practice.
      It would probably be quite intense, but if you want to experiment you can try to apply mulabandha throughout an entire round of breathing. A gentle warning, this makes it a much more advanced practice so please don't push it.
      Thanks for your question, and your support 🙏💞

  • @chetanagarwal8380
    @chetanagarwal8380 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Is it good to breath in from mouth? Usually we inhale through our nose specially in every other practice.

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      You're right! In most pranayama and in most circumstances we want to breathe through the nose. This is important as the nose is very important for heating and cooling the body, cleaning the air of dust, etc., and especially in Yoga, for activating and balancing our two main energy channels.
      This practice is an exception however as we are solely focusing on maximum gas exchange, increasing oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide. The best way to acheive this is through mouth breathing! Also, in the full Wim Hof method a big focus is placed on cold therapy - training the body and mind to withstand extreme cold. So mouth breathing is another way to bypass the normal heating of the air that occurs through nose breathing and intensify the bodies need to heat itself.
      Remember, as with most pranayama, it is a practice which is to be done for a limited time. Not an action to continue all day long.

      Holding the breath out, in an external retention, is a very challenging practice to develop. A lot of things can arise in this moment when we feel like we need to breathe. So don't feel bad that is challenging for you. It's normal to be challenging.
      The biggest advice I can give you is really focus on relaxing all the muscles all the tension in the body the mind, etc. The more you're able to relax into that space the easier will be to find comfort without the breath.

      This is what is referred to in Yogic terms as the "nada". When you're able to hear this, it is generally a good sign that you have achieved a state of "pratyahara", the turning in of the senses. Meaning that your attention is so focused inward - instead of outward - that you are able to hear the background noise of the mind itself. It's a very good thing!

    Hello 🙏🏻😃 thanks for the video I don't understand one thing
    after the 30 times shall we stay with no air for one minute and after breath is that? I'm confused
    thank you 🙏🏻

      Yes. After the breathing you want to go into a void retention, holding the breath with the lungs empty, for as long as is comfortable. Then to finish you inhale and hold the breath in, for ~15sec, before starting again.

    Truly amazing and intense experience! Thank you! ❤ However, I would like to know does this breathing mixed with kundalini practice can be dangerous? I read a lot of sources that kundalini practice is not something which can bi taken easily, it is a serious thing, especially if you are not ready, and that kundalini thing is something for experts in their last stages of yoga and awareness practice.. So I am a bit confused, does there anything to be wory about, and if it does, how do we know we are ready?

      Hey Nina, thanks for your question. There can be some instances where awakening is not harmonious - usually to people who do not practice Yoga. For Yogis, people looking for Truth, there is very little risk and the benefits far out weigh any negatives.
      We actually made a video where we talk about these supposed "dangers" of Kundalini. I recommend you to watch it for more information: th-cam.com/video/2pxaMXfQlTg/w-d-xo.html

    can we practice this everyday after other yoga practices?

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. I often do it before practice as a warm up for more intense Kundalini practices. But it is also great to do just before meditation 🤗💖

    Why with the Hoffman breathing technique i feel panic and fear ?

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Two possibilities could be that the fast breathing stimulates your sympathetic nervous system in a way that simulates the same state it would be in during a state of panic - this could be an opportunity to explore this energy/emotion in a safe way with great awareness and presence. Or it could be that because the practice is super detoxifying, in the process of detoxication your body is releasing some trauma that brings up the (unconscious) memory of fear and panic.
      Either way, I would not take it as a bad sign, but rather an opportunity to observe your reaction, learn where else this may be affecting your life and grow 💖

    What is tantric?

    • @RefeelYoga
      @RefeelYoga  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tantra is an extremely vast an inclusive spiritual system so it's not easy to put into words. Most simply put Tantra is energetic. A system of using the energies of life to achieve higher states of consciousness.
      If you want to understand a bit more about Tantra we have a few videos in our Tantra playlist. And you can check out this video on the 4 pillars of what makes a Tantric practice and a Tantric lifestyles:

    Breathing by mouth will suck relatively dry air into lungs. Dry air wil damage delicate ciliated squamous cell lining of bronchial tree. That will lead to stagnation of sputum , and infection.. Hyperventilation will wash out CO2, making all body cells to be surrounded by alkaline atmosphere ( body fluids). Our body cells can tolerate little bit acidic body fluid atmosphere but not alkaline. This will interfere with cell functions . Unless this is supervised by medical doctor, one should b careful about breathing techniques which are other than mentioned in Original Yoga ( Indian )

      While your statement cannot be argued, keep in mind that this breathing is meant to be done for only a few minutes a day. It is not a lifestyle breathing. In the same way, the majority of Pranayama mentioned in the old texts would not be healthy to take up as a full time practice either. Pranayam like Bhastrika or Anulom-vilom, if one were to do either all day long it could cause serious negative side effects to their balance of energy.
      This is a practice to be taken up with care, like all breathing exercises.
      I had my own experience of the negative effects of fast breathing when we first moved to Canada in the winter. The intense cold and dryness of the winter air was completely different than the warm humid air of Thailand. Through both the mouth and the nose I experienced big discomfort. So I decided to only practice my breathing indoors.
      As with all practices, make sure you're in an appropriate space for them. The middle of a polluted city is not an ideal place to practice Pranayam, just like the middle of a night club is not a great environment for meditation.
      If you are ever uncertain or feeling discomfort when practicing any breathing exercises, stop and seek advice from a trained professional before continuing.

      I would like to add that in regards to the heavy mouth breathing, and hyperventilating, it is intentional. The practice consists of purposely putting the body in a state of survival and triggering responses associated with such a state. The same with exercising muscles, cold showers, your stress the body so that it can become stronger and more resilient.

      Our body cells can tolerate little bit acidic body fluid atmosphere but not alkaline. If this is what science currently believes , maybe it deserve a deeper exploration. A screwdriver is good enough by itself , having a HALF screwdriver mixing with a hammer , that is just a harder way to fix the screw.
