  • Using footage from the original camera negative held in the Chaplin archives, film preservationist David Shepard (1940 - 2017) explains the creation and development of one of the many sequences that Chaplin filmed and abandoned for his forthcoming film "The Circus", which begun production in 1926.
Shepard's commentary was recorded in 1993.
Next, the edited sequence, done by Kevin Brownlow and David Gill for the groundbreaking 1983 documentary "Unknown Chaplin", as how Chaplin would have put together.
Accompanied is the superb music score by Carl Davis.
    Edited by João Antonio Franz.

In the documentary "unknown chaplin" it was mentioned that Chaplin always rehearsed on camera. Take after take it will go on, wherein he improvised the scene.
