The irony in this video for me in my life; I recently permanently quit WoW and dove back into OSRS after not playing since my childhood years! On the contrary OSRS content is truly cozy but yet progressive and fulfilling at the same time! My take away so far from OSRS compared to WoW is that the amount of progress a person can get done in OSRS as a SOLO player! Its so refreshing to see a completely uninfluenced & unbiased take on osrs. With no guides or wiki help whatsoever, it was super interesting to see what the first things you decided to do were. I would love to see more!
Its ironic that you cant imagine watching OSRS PvP videos but they are unironically the sweatiest of the sweats. You will not find a WoW player who can swap out his entire gear set-up in less than 0.6 seconds, then do it about 3 dozen times in the space for a minute or two.
Yeah I pretty much played rs in like 2004 cause everyone played it at school, then from one week to the next everybody seemed to switch to WoW as it was new, but I didn’t want to ask my foster parents to pay that subscription fee as I was a quiet and shy kid, so while all my friends switched over because their parents paid the sub, hell, even one guys dad played wow with him, I just kept going with rs😅 didn’t get member until 2009 but its been an enjoyable mmorpg to sink 20k hours into spread on my rs3 acc and my osrs acc
As a life long RuneScape player, it’s really nice to see a different perspective on the game. Really enjoyed watching you actually solve the puzzles, I would absolutely love to watch you do a series on a guide-less play through.
As a longtime Rs/OSRS and Wow/Classic WoW player, this video made me feel such a strong wave of nostalgia and took me back to my first experiences with the game in a way no other video ever has. I laughed so hard and love seeing someone experience it for the first time again. Please keep playing and sharing your experiences via videos!
My man coming out of nowhere for an OSRS series is crazy awesome. A lot of your takeaways are very accurate for a new player, but your assumptions of how some things work later on (i.e. PVP) is so far off base that I'm pretty excited to see you dive in and learn more and reassess your takeaways later. Whether you do or not, hope you're a happy guy with whatever content you work on
If the bond clip is his own and you played for longer than that you'd know that bond price hasn't existed for many years so maybe he's been secretly playing osrs for years
The "murder mystery" quest in the video is actually a permanent version of a seasonal Halloween event that was kept because players liked it so much. It's thematically a bit off compared to most of the other quests in the game (as are most seasonal events) but nice that you enjoyed it anyways. There are some real banger quests in Runescape and I hope you get to experience them.
Brother I was just scrolling through yt the other day seeing all these “Runescape player tries WoW” videos and I wondered if/when a WoW player would make one for OSRS and you did it. You did it.
24:04 Runescape has a really interesting way of doing progression. A lot of your critique, like long traveling is initially very tedious, but becomes pretty trivial twoards the mid-game as you get items and gear. Reaching a milestone (levels, quests, rewards etc.) gives you a lot of convenience or accelerates the rate at which you can make progress, like unlocking a new crafting method or boss to makes a certain item way easier to get. I don't think the two games is comparable, but where WOW is linear, Runescape is open. Which is not necessarily better, but different.
Lifelong wow player here too (Im 30 and still have my rogue from 5th grade) Ive been playing an Ironman and something I really love about the game is the slower pace grinds coupled with items having real identity really make it satisfying to earn stuff. It also feels more like an rpg when you can say stuff like "I just got the master wand" or "I finally got Tumeken's Shadow" instead of "I got a 626 weapon!" Still love WoW though but I'm hard addicted on osrs atm
yeah bro the pacing of this game is amazing, 30 day playtime in and finally being able to do mid-midlate bosses. finally saved up for bandos and the dopamine is crazy
Wow’s gear/items are the reason I quit. It’s all junk. Your bags are cluttered with so many useless things, so many items that do exactly what they did in the last expansion… then gear is 2 stats that are hardly noticeable to gameplay and an overall power level. It’s just boring and uninspired
Each hit is calculated through a mathematical formula. First, the game decides if you’re going to hit 0 or above 0, which is based on your accuracy and the monster's defense level. If the roll determines you’ll hit above 0, it rolls again to determine the damage you're about to deal. This number is between 1 and your max hit. For example, if a bronze sword gives you a max hit of 2, you then roll between 1 and 2, meaning there's a 50/50 chance of rolling a 1 or a 2. The higher your melee strength, the higher your max hit becomes. So, if you have a max hit of 30, you roll between 1 and 30, and since the range is larger, the odds of hitting a 1 are lower. The average damage per hit will be around 15 over a long sample. RuneScape is a game of statistics and mathematics, where players use the old 0.6-second game engine to tick-manipulate for skilling and PvM. It’s one of the hardest MMOs in terms of skill cap, with a huge range of activities that truly challenge players. Understanding how damage works is a good start. Good luck!
This is the reason He said: "I'm not gonna read comments". Dont spoil it dude. Like really. Renember those days then you played rs for the first time. How you learned everything slowly. He is at this point. Dont spoil it for him. if you really want to say something - be abstract. Like well well attack increases your chanse of hitting and strengh increases how much you hit. Defence is self explanatory. These types of comments might kill the vibe and we lose a good series we might get if he decides to make more videos.
FYI Ironman mode isn't permanent character death. It just restricts you from being able to use the grand exchange (auction house) and trade with other players. They do have hardcore Ironman mode, which when you die you just lose your 'hardcore' status and become a regular ironman.
@@johnnygongy i think it depends alot on your personality as a gamer, i seen some quickly realise they should have taken ironman instead after having played the game long enough to learn about GE the youtuber marstead i think did a sorta bronzeman compromise to this
@@johnnygongy i started the game as an ironman because people said you learnt more getting all the items rather than buying them, 4 months later and 1700 total levels later, i think i made the right decision
One great fix is with progress you get a lot more travel options that significantly reduces the amount of run time. There is so much information about the game that takes even veterans constantly having to check up the wiki. The game you can pay for most items with just gold, Ironman mode has grown significantly for people that respect earning everything without using trading. Glad to see you enjoying it!
I have a questcape, done prettymuch every pvm challenge there is and even I just recently when the firelight sword released and i read up on the Arclight i was like: You can use ancient shards to teleport around in the catacombs!? HU?!
Man I almost cried when I saw this. OSRS is my first MMO ever because I was a kid with parents that didn’t have enough money for a PC or even something called a “subscription”. The free to Play at my cousins house have a special place in my heart and seeing all these new big creators giving it a shot brings a smile to my face. I’ll be watching your journey!
Honestly @MadSeasonShow, the depth in OSRS questlines and stories/lore is fantastic. The complexity and difficulty of some quests will have you spending HOURS without guides -- and that's legit one of the coolest experiences when you've finally figured it out yourself and get that sweet quest complete music. Glad to hear you're enjoying it! (I too quit WoW after 20 years as well)
Jagex understood very early on the lightning in the bottle they had. What better to focus on, in an open sandbox world, than the stories your world can tell the players. and what stories the players can make from the game. Glad you had fun
real OGs remember when they released quests nigh on weekly if not bi-weekly! So many people complain when new quests get added nowadays but man, I swear that's what MADE Gielinor come to life for me all those years back seeing the narrative change every week.
@@20ZZ20 Lol, I am trying to play through Runescape for the first time without using guides and focusing on quests and content exploration. BOY DOES THIS COMMENT RING TRUE
@@20ZZ20 100% I understand this to be the reason behind modern day questers woes for new quests being added, but still, RS3 has so many extra storylines that someone could get invested in which someone else may not get invested in. - that's the thing with all of extra the quests though, it gives you variety in a genre that oh so desperately needs it when it comes to quests. (looking at WoW where its kill x, bring x; RS may be similar to a degree, but it has its own unique twists usually with a majority of it being detailed quest lore to bring said world to life) I think we can all agree though - who the hell thought Ratcatchers was a good quest idea?!
@@20ZZ20 rat catchers, underground pass, monkey madness 1 & 2 (those prison gorilla's and ninja monkeys can kiss my nuts) and the list goes on of quests where part of your soul dies
as someone who played since runescape classic, i often do not like to watch early game content. But you sir... your video was so wholesome that i watched every second of it and enjoyed it. Looking forward for the next videos and by the looks of it you have released a new one 15 hours ago. Off to watch that one + subbed! Gl on your adventures!
Gotta say, PVP is honestly crazy on osrs. Without spoiling much; the APM that some people perform while confining to the 0.6 second tick system (sometimes 16 actions in a 1.2 second window while needing to be accurate with your clicks), combined with PID swapping (if we hit each other at same time, who's damage calculates first? The game gives priority to one player and this switches randomly so knowing when you have PID or opponent has PID is an even deeper layer to PVP). Having to perform split second calculations to determine how much damage your opponent can deal and how much food you have to eat to not be in kill range. Some food stalls your ability to attack, some food does not interrupt you. Some food can be stacked on top of other food to eat more in the same tick window and they all heal different amounts and must be ate in a specific order. Do I guthix rest to keep my offensive time up or do I need to triple eat to not die? Do I risk that my opponent doesn't go for the KO this attack? Do I think my opponent is going to switch to a big hitting weapon where I can use the magic spell Vengeance to reflect a large amount of that damage back for a single attack which then has a 30 second cooldown? It is honestly insane how deep the mechanics get into such a simple on the surface game and there are still many more mechanics involved in PVP.
imo you are the only legit one who made this kind of series for example this guy used a pvp clip from 2010 you would have to search youtube hard to find a pvp clip from that long ago so yea your series stays my favriote and from what iv seen yours is one of the only real first playthroughs i just wish you posted episodes more
Watching your wow -> OSRS video is probably why I got recommended this video, as a veteran WOW and RS/OSRS player it's great to see the two games mix more!
I was literally watching a random RuneScape video (I’ve never played) and I was like man I would love to see Mads play this game and see what he thinks of it Fast forward 24 hours and you drop this banger Life is a simulation right?
There was a girl that went missing and the assumption was the car went into the water, and i watch a search and rescue channel sometimes, and thought to myself "that'd be crazy if they got involved". Same thing, roughly 24 hours later, they announced they were beginning the search. I was shooketh lol. Life is indeed a simulation.
Funny timing, as a life long RS player I recently found this channel and binged all the OG WoW videos because I feel oddly nostalgic for WoW, seeing as I didn't have a computer that could run it but always heard about it from friends. RS was clutch for us poors with f2p and low system reqs. During lock down I did finally get a taste of WoW on a "blizzlike" vanilla private server, later trying TBC, it was so fun and immersive, I am almost a little sad kid me missed out, beautiful world. Training Attack and upgrading weapons does increase your damage btw, you hit more often so higher DPS! Increasing strength level or item bonus allows you to hit harder, further increasing damage per second. I've always been a PVM guy, but the PVP is actually surprisingly intense for a click and go combat style, to be good you need to have extremely precise timing, quick item switching, prayer flicking, understanding what weapons/armour to use against what, and you can specialize "classes" by training pure accounts. Too intense for my stoner ass, but killing bosses in PVM efficiently still requires those skills. That's one of the great things about RS it's as intense as you like, can be afk click and wait pace or extremely intense with "tick manipulation" and chasing efficiency. The pay to win aspect introduced by bonds (which didn't exist for most the original games history) can be disabled by enabling the Iron Man mode, and you can see players who earned all their skills and gear by having that account. You can form a clan of Iron players who can trade amongst each other which really brings back the pre-P2W vibe.
Love seeing new people checking out the game. If you do want to continue with it, Id recommend checking out the quest log. Its an in-game feature that gives you a summary of the quest steps you have done so far and sometimes gives you hints about what to do next. Its not perfect and sometimes can leave you guessing, but its definitely a good help on some of the more obscure quests.
Been playing RS since I was 7 (I play RS3 but got no problem with OSRS), would love too see you do a progression series of sorts just learning and exploring. Glad you had a good time and hope you continue to do so.
This video made me so happy man. Been playing wow since vanilla and runescape since 07 and been watching you for years and years and to watch you experience it unspoiled was so hilarious and awesome. Cheers man! I wanna see you in a max cape!
DUDE Im actually so stoked, I hope you enjoy your time in our game Ive been a loooong time watcher of you and I dont even play WoW, you do a great job of storytelling WoW stories and its something ive really enjoyed while grinding OSRS :)!
Hope you're really enjoying OSRS. I am both a WoW and OSRS addict since back in the day. I no longer play WoW, but I do play OSRS. As you progress you'll find that the travel system in this game is also S tier. You can be at any part of the map in seconds and really heightens the experience imo. Also I think I heard you say you don't want to look anything up, but I encourage you to use the OSRS wiki. There's so much interesting information in the wiki you would normally gloss over. Even today having a lvl 123 iron man, I constantly look stuff up on the wiki.
Man the similarities we have - roughly the same age, played WoW since Vanilla, gym bros, monotone, living for WoW nostalgia, and recent breakups with gfs -> try OSR…this channel feels like it’s documenting my life.
This was a great video! I've seen a few other videos of lifelong wow players trying Runescape for the first time and love them. It's fun to me seeing people experience I game I loved as a kid and recently got back into.
please make it a series. I have played runescape for 10 years and currently havent played in like 5 years. So I loved watching you play and explore the world I know too well.
Just like WoW this is the type of game I always come back to after multiple breaks. However this game just never loses its charm for me, mostly due to the dev team trying to keep new OSRS content fitting to the classic style of the game. I can't imagine being able to explore OSRS for the first time again, but I was super excited when they re-released it back in 2013. There's so much to discover. The amount of skills makes it enjoyable. Whenever you get bored of leveling one of them, you can just train something else for a while. I definitely understand a point and click game doesn't sound very thrilling initially, but it's really much more than just that
btw this is what people thought Classic + was gunna be.... recreation of a old school classic, made with updates players want and love! Blizz suxxxxxxx
no there were alot of no changes clowns around in classic just like OSRS the ones in OSRS won at first and the game shrank to sub10k players then they started changing things and the player base grew wow did the opposite they did almost no changes and only made changes that hurt players instead of hurting botters there is no competency at blizzard they will always punish the people who just want to play the game
Welcome to OSRS. Glad you’re enjoying the game. And I’d absolutely watch more. This game is my childhood and it always makes me happy to see new people discovering it.
as a 20 year vet of runescape and a 15 year vet of wow. enjoy the feeling of playing runescape for the first time ever and possibly starting at the true golden age of this game just seems magical.
It’s so crazy to think about RuneScape as a person who didn’t play it in 2007 RuneScape can be so hard to pick up. It doesn’t hold your hand. Reading wikis was the only way back then, even before TH-cam. Crazy
I also had the super old RuneScape book I got from a book event at school. Told me how to do quests and everything else. Great times. I remember just hanging around in Lumby.
I’d also say if you’re into it, do a series on it. I’ll gladly watch for the nostalgia reasons. Awesome to see you go at it unbiased and with a fresh set of eyes. RuneScape was to me what WoW is for you
Ironman mode is the best part about OSRS coming from someone who only picked it up a few years ago and started with that account type. Everything is earned by you, and the slow pace allows you to return to it at will. Feels like a garden I can tend to when I have the time and let it sit dormant when I don’t.
I kept seeing this video on my recommended and skipped past it, thinking it was just another WoW player trying out our game. Then I finally realized who uploaded it and clicked immediately!
I've been playing Runescape since 2003, it's a really big part of my childhood. Really cool to see someone discovering the game the same way we all did. Instant subscribe
It's funny, regarding the pvp elements in OSRS. I played Runescape back in highschool before it turned into Old Skool. I had no idea at the time just how complex the PVP was in this game. Between gear switches, ticks, specs, and prayers to name a few, there's definitely a barrier to entry. It takes a long time to learn it.
Loved this Madseason, as someone who also missed the boat on OSRS, yet have wanted to play. Additionally, also going through a breakup - the timing was wild. I hope you are coping alright man. Much love.
Really recommend using the wiki. It's incredibly detailed and can answer any questions you have. Joining a clan is a good idea, lots of veterans can help pointnyou towards goals that'll progress your account and unlock new stuff
Personally i wouldn't, atleast not untill he feels like progression he makes starts feeling unrewarding. It might turn his motivation of doing whatever he feels like doing into doing whatever is most efficient. But i don't know him very well, your advice may be more suited to what kind of player he generally is
I'm glad he tried it out. I think the hardest thing about getting into OSRS as a new player is not knowing or understanding how to "play". People are able to min/max the game so much to get to the middle or end game much faster than a new player who just does whatever they feel like. It would be kinda cool to see him watch PVP content or raiding just to see how it is actually played later on. But the video was fun to watch a new player experience it pretty much how i did back in 2003. And yes...i'm playing OSRS right now as I watch this.
ONE OF US! ONE OF US! Glad to see other WoW youtubers make the jump over to OSRS! Before watching this video, I hope you enjoyed your time and continue playing.
As someone who has played this game for almost 20 years... THIS is what it was really like to start playing runescape. As a little kid I had no idea guides even exsisted... all knowledge came from trial and error or word of mouth... and Like 90% of what people told me was false 😂 This video is amazing.
As someone whos been playing RuneScape for 20 years and still plays everyday it's super interesting to see this new player experience of the game, this is undoubtedly an invaluable resource for the devs to make rhe early game experience better so even though it's a sponsored video, thank you i hope yoi continue to enjoy the game, I'd love to watch someone who is heavy into WoW go from realising what attack and strength do to being able to run hard mode ToB, it would probably consume all of your time to do but my god would it be amazing
I play WoW and OSRS But I actually enjoy OSRS more due to how relaxed it can be. I can AFK at a bank and level up my crafting or Magic skill, I can solo a Fishing boss at a chance for a rare pet, I can take 40 mins and do a Farming run or I can just go smack a goblin It lets me relax and just chill. Plus, the story is nice and the quests are pretty fun! From what it seems though, I would stay away from the Client "Runelite" for now. Its like a GIANT addon that will hold your hand on quests. But it does much more than that It helps in raids, calculations, marks, bosses and so much more. I say experience OSRS the way you are doing it right now. Then get Runelite when/if you want As for raids, they can be pretty sweaty at times, but it doesnt seem to bad. I dont raid though because Im B A D and I just like to skill/fish
you should do beneath cursed sands and try the raid tombs of amascut sometime its very learner friendly, and if you have any friends in the game im sure a lot of them would love to teach u OSRS raiding is a party
Please keep playing, even if you don't make videos from it, it's such a fantastic game to dive into and the more you play it, the more it opens up into itself. Quests give you XP, more levels gives you new training methods and access to better gear and teleports and areas of the map, it's such a fantastic design of progression that feels truly rewarding, and the quests are the best in the genre. Enjoy your time in gielinor sir!

If the bond clip is his own and you played for longer than that you'd know that bond price hasn't existed for many years so maybe he's been secretly playing osrs for years
Started last year for the first time, maybe all roads leads to Osrs eventually?

The "murder mystery" quest in the video is actually a permanent version of a seasonal Halloween event that was kept because players liked it so much. It's thematically a bit off compared to most of the other quests in the game (as are most seasonal events) but nice that you enjoyed it anyways. There are some real banger quests in Runescape and I hope you get to experience them.
Brother I was just scrolling through yt the other day seeing all these “Runescape player tries WoW” videos and I wondered if/when a WoW player would make one for OSRS and you did it. You did it.
I’ve played RuneScape from the beginning days… never played WOW before. Love this take, would watch every episode of the series. New subscriber
Just wait 'till Leagues season next month
yeah bro the pacing of this game is amazing, 30 day playtime in and finally being able to do mid-midlate bosses. finally saved up for bandos and the dopamine is crazy
bro was grinding for the master wand on the iron? I'll say a prayer for your sanity😔🙏
@@Nick-ij5nt I appreciate the love, tele room hurts my soul
Wow’s gear/items are the reason I quit. It’s all junk. Your bags are cluttered with so many useless things, so many items that do exactly what they did in the last expansion… then gear is 2 stats that are hardly noticeable to gameplay and an overall power level. It’s just boring and uninspired
I quit wow 4 months ago and started old school runescape. I love it. I advise everyone to give it a try
Been playing rs since 06 on and off. And wow on and off since 08. Both are amazing games.
Welcome! Enjoy the early grinds, they're so fun. Here the journey truly is the main part of the game.

Good luck!
You can hit a 0 btw, If you 'miss' its 0, if you hit it's 0 to 30 in your example
I'm so glad to see this video. I've played RuneScape off and on for years and your fresh perspective is really charming. Thanks for doing this.
FYI Ironman mode isn't permanent character death. It just restricts you from being able to use the grand exchange (auction house) and trade with other players. They do have hardcore Ironman mode, which when you die you just lose your 'hardcore' status and become a regular ironman.
Ironman is terrible for new players. Usually you have to have a good understanding in order to play it well or have fun.
@@johnnygongy i think it depends alot on your personality as a gamer, i seen some quickly realise they should have taken ironman instead after having played the game long enough to learn about GE

One great fix is with progress you get a lot more travel options that significantly reduces the amount of run time. There is so much information about the game that takes even veterans constantly having to check up the wiki.
The game you can pay for most items with just gold, Ironman mode has grown significantly for people that respect earning everything without using trading.

(I too quit WoW after 20 years as well)
I had a grin on my face for the whole video. Mads is a good dude and I'm glad he's having a good time here!
Jagex understood very early on the lightning in the bottle they had. What better to focus on, in an open sandbox world, than the stories your world can tell the players. and what stories the players can make from the game. Glad you had fun
real OGs remember when they released quests nigh on weekly if not bi-weekly! So many people complain when new quests get added nowadays but man, I swear that's what MADE Gielinor come to life for me all those years back seeing the narrative change every week.

that's the thing with all of extra the quests though, it gives you variety in a genre that oh so desperately needs it when it comes to quests. as someone who played since runescape classic, i often do not like to watch early game content.
All i read here is a very immersion breaking fight description lol
unfortunately also easily abusable by AHK and bots lol
yeah runescape pvp is kinda like turn based strategy game but the turn is like 1second long
who TF plays RunescApE for PvP? Thats literally how WoW became the standard. It was the mechanics and how good it made the PvP.
@@Archubbso ignorant. rs2 pvp is what carried the game. but nowadays the nolife neets voted it all out in favor of auti simulator
I recently did the same and have a popular video about it that blew up! Long time fan man love your content! Welcome to OSRS
imo you are the only legit one who made this kind of series for example this guy used a pvp clip from 2010 you would have to search youtube hard to find a pvp clip from that long ago so yea your series stays my favriote and from what iv seen yours is one of the only real first playthroughs i just wish you posted episodes more
Watching your wow -> OSRS video is probably why I got recommended this video, as a veteran WOW and RS/OSRS player it's great to see the two games mix more!
love Your series I watched the first episode a while back but at that time there was only one episode!
I was literally watching a random RuneScape video (I’ve never played) and I was like man I would love to see Mads play this game and see what he thinks of it
Fast forward 24 hours and you drop this banger
Life is a simulation right?
God I hope he continues playing this...
I would love to see a series of this. Addicted to Runescape myself and you always bring a cool old-school MMO player perspective to things!
I wonder how long it will take him to get to the "MMO" part of runescape. I've been playing on and off for 10 years and i'm still not there :)
I just started a couple months ago too as someone who's been playing WoW since day 1. It's very charming.
Been playing RS since I was 7 (I play RS3 but got no problem with OSRS), would love too see you do a progression series of sorts just learning and exploring. Glad you had a good time and hope you continue to do so.

Your sense of humor is so elite bro. Appreciate the laughs and the vicarious nostalgia.
I’m an osrs guy that only knew about wow through your videos, don’t even know why I started watching, frankly. But real glad you’re here!

I definitely understand a point and click game doesn't sound very thrilling initially, but it's really much more than just that
I would do anything for a Madseason runescape progress series, gahdamn
This was probably your best script for a video ever. Good job brother.
btw this is what people thought Classic + was gunna be....

no there were alot of no changes clowns around in classic just like OSRS the ones in OSRS won at first and the game shrank to sub10k players then they started changing things and the player base grew

Ironman is perfect. The only bummer to me is getting 70 herb for SOE
I kept seeing this video on my recommended and skipped past it, thinking it was just another WoW player trying out our game. Then I finally realized who uploaded it and clicked immediately!

Fantastic video bro. Love these types. Love seeing new Runescape players play the game for the first time without help and just diving in. A+. Subbed.
00:52 Relatable 🤣🤣
It's funny, regarding the pvp elements in OSRS. I played Runescape back in highschool before it turned into Old Skool. I had no idea at the time just how complex the PVP was in this game. Between gear switches, ticks, specs, and prayers to name a few, there's definitely a barrier to entry. It takes a long time to learn it.
I'm so here for this holy shit let's go
Loved this Madseason, as someone who also missed the boat on OSRS, yet have wanted to play.

But i don't know him very well, your advice may be more suited to what kind of player he generally is
3:29 No alts... Good one buddy.
Great video man, so good to hear from you again! Stay strong through the heartache
Is j1mmy doing a react video? That would be neat 😊
Hey Mads, do you plan on resuming streaming sometime ? (OSRS stream copium)

I just found your channel and I'm loving seeing you getting into OSRS. You should totally do a series of you just playing and discovering the game!
I once heard Runescape is a getaway drug for WoW....
I once heard that Runescape is where WoW Players go that hate blizzard just a bit to much.
As someone who has played this game for almost 20 years... THIS is what it was really like to start playing runescape.
As a little kid I had no idea guides even exsisted... all knowledge came from trial and error or word of mouth... and Like 90% of what people told me was false 😂
This video is amazing.
Runescape today is 100x better than it was originally, best time to start osrs, updates have made it much smoother with more content
Welcome MadSeason!! The world is your oyster. So cool to see a fresh player stumble about for the first time and kicking the shit out of goblins
i haven't played WoW, but it sounds like an objectively mid experience when compared even to runescape.
its dog water compared to Runescape
I can barely hear you in your videos
I play WoW and OSRS
But I actually enjoy OSRS more due to how relaxed it can be.
I can AFK at a bank and level up my crafting or Magic skill, I can solo a Fishing boss at a chance for a rare pet, I can take 40 mins and do a Farming run or I can just go smack a goblin
It lets me relax and just chill. Plus, the story is nice and the quests are pretty fun!
From what it seems though, I would stay away from the Client "Runelite" for now. Its like a GIANT addon that will hold your hand on quests. But it does much more than that
It helps in raids, calculations, marks, bosses and so much more.
I say experience OSRS the way you are doing it right now. Then get Runelite when/if you want
As for raids, they can be pretty sweaty at times, but it doesnt seem to bad.
I dont raid though because Im B A D and I just like to skill/fish
you don't have to install the quest helper plugin or use the tile markers etc
i think runelite is just too good QoL
you should do beneath cursed sands and try the raid tombs of amascut sometime
its very learner friendly, and if you have any friends in the game im sure a lot of them would love to teach u
OSRS raiding is a party
Please keep playing, even if you don't make videos from it, it's such a fantastic game to dive into and the more you play it, the more it opens up into itself. Quests give you XP, more levels gives you new training methods and access to better gear and teleports and areas of the map, it's such a fantastic design of progression that feels truly rewarding, and the quests are the best in the genre. Enjoy your time in gielinor sir!
