Great song and great reaction. This song was written specifically for Frida (the red head) she did a solo album called Frida Ensam ( Frida alone) and Fernando was first done in her native Swedish language with her alone.. They recovered it with ABBA and her singing it with Agnetha ( the blonde) both versions are great

I grew up with all the fabulous music from the 60's-80's. ABBA was one of my favorites. They had lots of hits & I owned many of their albums. I can't think of a bad song by them. Some of their best are "Mama Mia", "Thank You For The Music", "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!", "Waterloo", "Money, Money, Money", "The Name Of The Game", "Super Trouper", "I Have A Dream", "Voulez-Vous", "Chiquitita", "Take A Chance On Me", "SOS", "Knowing Me, Knowing You", "Dancing Queen" etc.

'Fernando' is a character they wrote about about a young man fighting in the Mexican war of independence. If you google the lyrics and then think of this man facing death during the war its really beautiful and poignant

    I'm going to this video
This is I think a visit from ABBA to the Top of the Pops program in UK 1976
by legal provisions of English television, the artists had to perform live and use local musicians
ABBA came from #1 with "Mamma Mia" and now was about to reach #1 with "Fernando"
For the next #1 ABBA don't go to UK, and send the official video: "Dancing queen"
It is wonderful to see how Frida and Agnetha
understand each other without seeing each other,
    their vocal synchronization is perfect
    They are back to back,
they don't see each other throughout the song,
and they sing each note at the same time.
    a pure beauty
"Fernando" is one of ABBA greatest worldwide hits
at the same level of "Chiquitita"
only behind their insigne song "Dancing Queen"
I hope to see you soon with more ABBA songs
I wish you a great week from
    Buenos Aires, Argentina
    South America

OMG, I have not thought about ABBA in years, Actually, since the early 70s. I loved the style of POP music that this Swedish group performed back then. Songs like Dancing Queen, Take a Chance on Me, Mamma Mia, and Waterloo. The band broke up in the early 80s when both couples divorced about a year apart. Sadly, this was at the height of their commercial success. The song Mamma Mia was actually incorporated into a Broadway musical and was very successful.

In fact, the song Mamma Mia was not incorporated into the Broadway musical.
But the composers Benny and Björn made a musical with ABBA songs titled "Mamma Mia"
and then two movies with the title of the same song

Mamma Mia was a Worldwide musical, ow 23 Years in West End London
Broke up, I don't know if that's correct, went out for "fika" and then back after 39 years with a new album in 2021 and of course # 1 on the charts again

'Fernando' was about two old freedom-fighters from the Mexican Revolution. It was released in 1976 as a single before the Arrival album. The song was one of Frida's solo's before Abba and was re-written in English.

I agree the music of the 70's and such just has a feel good factor to it.
Maybe it is because the instruments are real and not sampled, the voices are not autotuned, the music is not overproduced and generic or perhaps it is just that things were less cynical back then and music was performed for the joy of it rather than quick riches and fame.

This actually live as it differs from the studio recording, which is rare for ABBA outside of a concert situation they mostly had to lip-synch for TV appearances as was common at the time in order to guarantee the best sound or they would have done (wonderful) video clips.

      thinking precisely of your baby
There is an ABBA song that you might like to listen to,
especially because of its beautiful lyrics:
      "Slipping through my fingers" (1981)
      ABBA also performed it live

@@eduardooscar309 She should also watch the clip from the movie musical with songs by ABBA called "MAMA MIA" where it is sung by MERYL STREEP (playing the character "DONNA") and by AMANDA SEYFRIED (who is playing "Donna's" daughter "SOPHIE" in the movie, while "Sophie" is getting ready for her wedding with the help of her mother "Donna") I GUARANTEE it will make SUSHI shed some tears. Here is the link th-cam.com/video/KaVlt-JyDGk/w-d-xo.html @eduardooscar309 It makes ME cry EVERYTIME I watch the movie, it still resonates with my own feelings about my 3 sons (I had no daughters) while they were growing up and now are all grown and on their own for a long time now.

On some occasions and ABBA presentations, like this one,
Benny has been seen playing the guitar
(including in the official ABBA video for "Fernando")
although obviously, his natural instruments are
the piano, keyboards and synthesizers, and the accordion
