Careful !!! It seems great but it’s not. I’ve worked as a teacher in Luxembourg and left after 1.5 years . The taxation in any of these countries can be 20-30%!! Also, many European schools do not offer accommodation or flights home, like they do in Asia and the Middle East. In Luxembourg for example , as a single person you’re taxed more !! 30% on tax, 30% on rent …with 30-40% of the salary left …you can hardly afford to pay bills and live . Not a chance when it comes to saving . Be careful , HIGH SALARIES BUT ALSO VERY HIGH COST OF LIVING IN ALL THESE 5 countries !!!
I spent 6 years in Switzerland, and I can say that your facts are mostly right, although there are some teachers who can earn more. I now live in DC. Salary for first-year teachers with no experience in any field with a bachelor's is $60k. Depending on years of teaching and degrees, teachers easily make over $100k/year, not including bonuses which can be as high as $25k/year. There are plenty of private, charter, international, high-performing community-based schools---as well as schools with academically-challenged students from which to choose. In a country like the US, it is far more sensible to break down salaries by states. California is larger than Netherlands, Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg combined and teachers make around $90k/year. Same can be said for New York.
