To help people: As a Physics teacher with 6 years experience from London, I got offered £3200 from one school and £2950 from another, I rejected both as my current school in the UK gave me a considerable extra boost in salary but just good to know.

Important to add that female teachers on spousal visa will only get basic salary, no allowance for accommodation, flights or health insurance if these are provided by husband's employer.

I can't imagine a person with Western standards managing on less than 14,,000 AED a month there and a housing allowance of at least 50,000AED a month. So expensive, You wouldn't be able to enjoy what Dubai has to offer and it soooo hot so I mean there has to be some pleasure other than sitting on a hot balcony every day and eating fast food

I always had the idea that teaching in Dubai was highly paid. The starting point you mentioned of 2,000 Stirling a month equates to around 3,455 Australian dollars. This seems incredibly low. I teach in a remote Aboriginal community in Western Australia and I am earning over 5,400 AUD after tax and I don’t pay for my housing, electricity or water. I can’t understand why more people don’t look at teaching over here - we are desperate for teachers.
