Love seeing this process, it was always puzzling to me how some people thought of adding random shapes or weird effects... It really seems to make sense but without an idea of the process you would never know really how the end result came to be. Thanks for this!
thanks for the good tips. i always find myself lost whenever im about to start a new project and i totally get it that you need to let the idea brew rather than trying to force it, its like trying to bake a cake but in 5 minutes instead of 30, the math might work but in reality you will burn the cake. a problem that happens to alot of designers such as myself who work for small studios whom give out lots of project but not the time to think about em.
I've been in that situation. It's akin to working in a factory, churning out mograph product. The work can be serviceable but it's hard to dig into briefs on a conceptual level
One of the only problems with your channel is that you didn't start it sooner, so there isn't a massive playlist yet of awesome content for me to binge while I procrastinate on the projects I'm supposed to be working on. Interesting, informative, and engaging. Great work man.
So much gold in here! Talk about engaging AND useful. The pacing, how you present the information, and the content come together in a way that I got to the end without even thinking about clicking away. AND I learned something useful. SUBSCRIBED!
Pleasure! Just checked out your channel Emily. Your remote controlled The Thing spider head might be the best thing I've ever seen. A heartbreaking work of staggering genius 😂
@@TheVideoShopLondon ☺️☺️☺️ thank you SO much! (I started learning AE a year ago at School of Motion, so love seeing other people’s amazing animations ! I’m learning Cinema 4D at the moment, it’s so cool!)
hi i was wondering if like for a month or two i could pay you to show me how to master this type of style, like i've tried on my own to figure it out but im never happy with the outcome. i look at some pinterest pins for inspiration and try to animate it in ae but i get frustrated because it never looks good. i feel like with the help of a pro like you it would be much easier
You can find my email on this page: www.youtube.com/@TheVideoShopLondon/about so feel free to contact me that way. However I'd probably try to dissuade you from spending money as the whole point of my channel is to help people learn for free : )
9:10 fucking relatable. For simple video editing i use premiere, If i know im gonna blow the vid with effects and stuff at any point in time for any duration, then the whole editing is done solely in AE
Enjoyed this one! Really liked the slice/dice stairway to the house animation: creative, simple, powerful, ominous. Also liked how your eye is drawn to and recognizes overarching shapes (lines, circles). The face transplant animation was a good idea, too: snappy and it directed the eye well. Finally, regarding Brew: totally agree. I try to have at least three projects overlapping. Work on A, let it brew while I work on B. It develops individual style (you’re thinking about the prev project a little, while working on the current, giving them some cohesion); and you increase the likelihood of happy accidents. Cheers!
Thanks Emonee. Well, I've recommended your channel to *my* students! Love your work. You just need a shot of me in one of your vids then we can make this a youtube Culkin / Gosling t-shirt 😆
I'm so glad I fount this video and channel, I have a video motion exam and the one thing I couldn't figure out - even when I asked the professor - is this you're saying + the project I'm making is a movie opening credit, I feel blessed by the universe right now

sir, you are the person doing things for the community not for money! i love your work!
Ahh you're far too kind but glad you find it helpful : )

Great work man.
So what you're saying is shut my channel down, make 100 videos then come back all guns blazing? Gotcha!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Will try my damndest to keep up the standard
THANK YOU! This video was super helpful, and so amazing you have shared your project files too. Looking fwd to watching more of your videos!

My friends and family call me 'Sketchy' 🤣. Another brilliant tutorial and process breakdown 👏
Really like the work you’ve done here, as well as the process and insights 👌
Thanks geezer. Hope I didn't spoil the ending for you
You deserve more followers on here
I keep telling youtube that. Will they listen? WILL THEY HECK. Thank you though sir
0:20 exposed me greatly
Ha! We've all done it
when I saw the t-shirt I already knew I gonna put like for this video))
Haha thank you. I've been waiting over a year for someone to notice my geeky film t-shirts
For the sake of keeping things digital, Mirro is a great place to create a mind map rather than keeping it on physical paper. :)
Nice tip thanks Emilio! I'll have to give that a go. DOWN WITH PHYSICAL PAPER
@@TheVideoShopLondon as opposed to non physical paper, you know we gotta keep that around.
Brilliant!
Thank you thank you
انت أستاذ ❤ شكرًا جزيلًا

You talked so fast that I had to watch it at 0.75 times the normal speed.
This is an older tutorial. I've tried to slow down when I talk for more recent ones!
Yes, as an older viewer , I agree. You’re very smart, so I can appreciate that if I hear all the words.
I can barely hear what you’re saying
Hopefully the subtitles help
crack! 🥰
Just say no, kids

The three overlapping projects thing is a good idea. Totally going to steal that
I recommended this video for my students and I didn't even realize I was on the bonus tip! HA! Love it so much

Hello , Hope you are doing well
I am thinking of learning Motion design can you suggest some courses for beginners
Weeeeell .... I'm contractually obliged to mention the course I teach, you can find it here: www.thevideoshoplondon.com/Teaching
Good stuff. It is always tempting to start throwing keyframes in there before the idea is fully developed.
One day I will learn. But not today.
believe me hands down you are the best
That is far, far too kind ... but I'll take it
This was very inspiring. Thank you!
Thanks!

You're telling me kidnapping Ariel Costa isn't an option????
bummer
Not saying it isn't an option, just that you didn't get the idea from me ...
