What a lovely person you are and so generous with your talent and time and I’m very grateful that you gave us the time you have, 35 minutes is fine and if it took longer I’d stay the distance coz it’s so excellent, thanks heaps from Aussie 👍🎉

This is the exact tutorial I have been looking for! Thank you for this. I would love if you could share about how you are mixing the colors. I always struggle with that, and I always struggle to make enough when I mix them. This was a beautiful painting! You are so talented ✨

Oh my gosh it’s so hood to have you back! I love your “style” for videos….they are fun, relaxed, encouraging and real….I am self a self taught artist and I have watched tons of videos on techniques and different mediums to try….thank you for bringing joy to painting, especially water scenes! Something I love painting too…. The visual learning has always worked best to learn for me…. You are rocking these teaching videos! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼💕💕💕

You do a really good job explaining it and that is what I was looking for... People show how to paint waves but then I try and it just looks like a big mess because I don't know exactly where the shadows or highlights are supposed to be and it's not where you would always expect. But you explained it very well here and it made things more clear for me FOR SURE ❤ I ALWAYS LIKE TO KNOW WHY... And what people are thinking when they are doing something that I don't know how to do because I'm obviously not going about it the right way and then once I can think that way I can do it!

This is the first video, of yours, that I have seen. I loved it. I will tell you Exactly why. I love that I can see reference as you paint. I love that you explain and talk But don't stop painting. My ADHD can hyper focus And Just Say No, when 'teachers" Just talk, Too long. I Love that when you talk, it feels tutorial.Too many love the sound of their voice, try to entertain, or talk in some weird soothing/patronizing/condescending, trying to be all cute. Not cute, not entertained. You seem like you are being you, not fake. Many newbies, like me, are using cheaper paints/ canvas, take longer, and everything dries way before we can blend. I also have trouble with paint drying on the palette. I do take longer. I have a wet palette, use liquitex, at times, and still have drying. Starting to think about oils but the smell, the cost, the clean up.... I am interrupted very often during painting as well. Old and have to pee at least 10 times! And, my dogs are about the same. Our brushes are often not the greatest. It is Very hot and miss. Any thoughts about Any of that for us newbies would be a great help. I can't even mix paint well on the palette without, basically, spreading it out, painting the palette, and nothing left for the canvas. I have gotten Very accurate with my "canvas frisbee" game! Thanks for your hard work. Obviously, greatly appreciated!! ❤️

What a great little painting and video 😎. I absolutely love this style of video and hope you consider making more; the more detailed instruction/thoughts/reasoning, etc are delightful as is listening to you & watching you work. When you were talking about how a painting is never finished & we the artists have to end it reminded me of a da Vinci quote I imagine your familiar with: “Art is never finished, only abandoned”. No truer words in my opinion & experience. I hope you & yours are having a peaceful & cozy holiday season, however you celebrate (or not).

Hi Emily, I know this was a couple of years ago, but I just saw this whilst scrolling.
This was a great tutorial, I mostly, lol, grasped the whole concept of layering and painting different tones of the same or similar hues.
It really is amazing to see it come to form and become 3d with just a subtle change in hues 😃
Really fascinating how all those lil touches of paint became one thing...water lol 😅
    Unreal thanku so much

I wish there would have been more instruction in this video honestly. It felt more like 'just copy me and hope for the best! Teehee!' That's fine but then the video was so sped up it was difficult to see everything you were doing. After a certain point, I couldn't follow anymore. In the future, please instruct more and be more consice. Or at the very least slow down your painting process so it's easier to follow
