Oh. I like to remind people to keep in mind how old Harry is in each book and try to remember how kids act and think. Don't expect some of his reasoning or decisions to seem logical to an adult. Harry is a kid with an issue with trusting authority figures or adults in general because of the Dursleys..and Snape's bullying him doesn't help with that issue either.

Keep in mind that everything you're reading is from Harry's perspective so of course Draco and Snape are going to seem over the top.
Hermione is an overachiever. Believe me, as one myself I would have been tempted to do the same thing she did. We always crave more knowledge and we're always harder on ourselves than anyone else ever could be.
As to the movies..a lot is left out from the books and some of the changes on characters' personalities and deeds leave..a little to be desired. 1-3 are fairly excellent adaptations although I didn't care for some of the changes and info left out in this particular adaptation.
You usually only find out some things in the movies later then we found them out in the books. They don't usually bring things forward. You should be safe watching each movie after each book..well once you catch up that is. 😂
From 4 on there are a *lot* of changes. I love the movies as a separate thing from the books because some from here on out are really bad adaptations even if they're great movies on their own.

You’re right - I definitely kept viewing things as though from the narrators perspective rather than Harry’s. I also do think that how the books convey the story is good for a younger audience 😆 and thank you for clarification on the movies! I’m excited to get into watching those
