I’m glad you’re still reading them. Book 4 is my favorite in the series. It breaks a lot of patterns in the first 3 books.

Loved the book and also had some of the same criticisms when it came to expanding on the final changes we see in Katsa and Po in the end of Graceling. Then I sat with those feelings a while, without the closure I had anticipated after the plotline climax. And you know something? I wound up loving the detached nature of things left unanswered to us, because it mirrored their mutual desire to meet the unknown world head-on.

I too want to read the divergent series. I think I have nearly all the books. But as far as a 5 star read I just finished 1984 by Orwell. It was great. Also check out the Rose Code by Kate Quinn maybe that will get ya out of the "mid" slump category. 😊🥰 Both of those were 5 stars for me ⭐ 🌟 ✨

I've bounced off Sanderson several times. I just can't seem to connect with the characters. I feel like I'm missing out, but I just can't get into his stories.

Never read Harry Potter before. Now I will !

Oh. I like to remind people to keep in mind how old Harry is in each book and try to remember how kids act and think. Don't expect some of his reasoning or decisions to seem logical to an adult. Harry is a kid with an issue with trusting authority figures or adults in general because of the Dursleys..and Snape's bullying him doesn't help with that issue either.

Keep in mind that everything you're reading is from Harry's perspective so of course Draco and Snape are going to seem over the top. Hermione is an overachiever. Believe me, as one myself I would have been tempted to do the same thing she did. We always crave more knowledge and we're always harder on ourselves than anyone else ever could be. As to the movies..a lot is left out from the books and some of the changes on characters' personalities and deeds leave..a little to be desired. 1-3 are fairly excellent adaptations although I didn't care for some of the changes and info left out in this particular adaptation. You usually only find out some things in the movies later then we found them out in the books. They don't usually bring things forward. You should be safe watching each movie after each book..well once you catch up that is. 😂 From 4 on there are a *lot* of changes. I love the movies as a separate thing from the books because some from here on out are really bad adaptations even if they're great movies on their own.

28 year old first time potter reader here. Dyslexic reader too. And I’ve loved the books. I started the series in February and I’m already over half way through the order of the Phoenix. It’s one of the greatest stories ever told.

I've recently rewatched the film series and was watching some TH-cam interviews with Jo Rowling when TH-cam suggested your video. I'll never get used to Americans calling it Sorcerers Stone 😂 Philosopher's Stone, as it's known outside America I read in 2001/2002 when I was 11 years old. Somehow (I was not academic at school) I won some award at the end of year school presentation in which the prize was a book voucher, so we went to the book store and I can't actually remember why but that was one of the books I bought with the voucher. I only read the one book and I only read it once - fast forward maybe 8-10 years, a new friend I'd made was raving about how good the books were, so I decided to buy the series on iBooks and read them from start to finish in my morning tea and lunch breaks at work. So I must have been 18-20 when I started reading them properly, not much earlier than you, so I was a late comer to the books too. I agree with most of your thoughts in this video, by now you've probably read the series, but I don't want to spoil the series if you haven't but a lot of your questions toward the end of the video are answered in the last three books.

Harry is usually the one finding them because he is following the voice in the walls not by random accident

Graceling is one of my favorite YA fantasy books!!! I read it a longgg time ago, (like 10 years ago!) but I loved it at the time. So glad you liked it. Defffinitely gets better as it goes on. And Po is top tier as fictional dudes go (and what happens at the end with him 😫). If you liked it, you should read Bitterblue. I did not love Fire, but Bitterblue is wonderful.

I haven’t read anything by Emily Henry yet but I’ve heard really good things about People We Meet on Vacation. This also sounds like it could be a fun read!!!
