I've had much worse experiences in my life than having no friends and I consider being in Slytherin a blessing because most who are in Slytherin understand me.

I got Slytherin, too, 2 months ago and I was just as shocked as you were. I kinda expected myself to be sorted into either Gryffindor or Ravenclaw. Well, mostly Gryffindor. But, no, I got Slytherin, instead! After a few minutes of research I realized that Slytherin made much more sense to me then the other houses. And, just like you said, I'm more than what meets the eye! :)
Yeah! At first I was really determined in taking the quiz as many times as possible because I didn't believe I was a Slytherin and thought I was a Hufflepuff lol Nope. To be honest, I used to identify strongly with Gryffindor when I was little because of the stigmas of the houses in the the books. But recently the older I am the more I find myself relating more strongly to Slytherin. Sure I have many traits from the other houses, but recently I have realized that I do value the Slytherin traits and ambition the most. The more research that I have done, the more I realized how fitting this house is for me, and that Slytherin is really much more than what was shown in the books alone. Super glad to be a fellow Slytherin ^_^

I've taken the test quite a few times. I was always torn between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I've gotten Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw numerous times, I've even gotten Slytherin a few times and I got Gryffindor once. I would have to agree with Pottermore that I am most like Ravenclaw but I would also have friends in all the houses. Just like in school where I was a nerd but I was somehow friends with everybody.

I got Slytherin four times, so I guess I’m a serpent. I was definitely surprised, as I thought I was a hardcore Hufflepuff. I think a lot of the Slytherin traits such as self-preservation, cunning, fraternity, desiring personal success, and focusing loyalties on a few people make a lot more sense to me. Marybelle Sagard, I was watching Harry Potter And the Chamber of Secrets recently cause well...I am a fan! And I couldn’t help but notice that at the end of the film the Basilisk appears to lose its abilities whenever it reaches close contact with boy Harry. This happens in the tunnel when the basilisk is blinded it chases Harry into the tunnel where Harry fools it by throwing a stone down the tunnel which The basilisk takes interest in losing interest in Harry mistakenly thinking the stone is...Harry? It’s a snake, couldn’t it detect Harry’s scent with its tongue? A number of times the Basilisk could murder Harry with ease but whenever it’s near Harry it seems to lose its intelligence. Let alone when it had Harry out of options on a cliff edge and it knocks itself bloody on a rock side trying to mame Harry. I get the feeling that the serpent is confused by Harry being a horcrux - sensing Voldemort within Harry? Before you troll me guys, please watch this scene at the end and you will immediately see what I’m talking about.
Tbh I dont understand why people hate draco , I loved draco from the start because I think he is just a child that was misunderstood and like you said he was tormented by voldemort also his. I've taken this quiz on 4 different occasions for the last few years, and despite sharing some qualities with the other houses I also got Slytherin each result which was is honestly no surprise. As a young kid when I first the Harry Potter books and watched the films, I always looked at myself as a "Gryffindor kid" as many of us probably did, but as I got older I identified more and more with Slytherin and Snape's character. I personally know what it's like to be treated as an outcast by your peers at school, and then growing up to show little compassion towards others than the ones who loved you back, which in Snape's case was Lilly Potter.
I love all the Houses an' can't stand it when they get stereotyped by the negative side of their traits; each trait is both positive & negative but how it's used tips the balance e.g. Voldemort definitely worked hard (a Hufflepuff trait) to achieve his great power but the things he worked towards are very, very horrible (Horcruxes & war) whereas a hard-working healer saves people.

I've took the Pottermore test 3 times and its said every time I'm hufflepuff!! I disagree with this because I'm nothing like hufflepuff it's just not me, I've asked friends and family and they have all said I'm slytherin and I think i am too so I identify as a slytherin and tbh I think it's best to identify yourself to Which hogwarts house since you know yourself best. Not that there's anything wrong with the quiz I just think I'm more slytherin :D

This is incorrect. Nymphadora Tonks was sorted into Hufflepuff, but her mother, Andromeda Tonks (maiden name Black), was a Slytherin. Along with her two Aunts Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy (The Black Family lineage). Speaking of the Black family, Sirius Black was sorted into Gryffindor. As mentioned in this video, Harry Potter's (Gryffindor) son, Albus Severus Potter, was sorted into Slytherin. The Patil sisters (Twins), Parvati and Padma were NOT in the same house! Parvati was sorted into Gryffindor, meanwhile Padma was sorted into Ravenclaw. In regards to the test, I haven't gotten any of my family members to take the test. However, my fiance is a Ravenclaw, but I'm a Slytherin. I'll have to test out the Family Members taking the test theory to be true, if I can get my own family members, to take the test.

I relate to that free spirit/ rule bending thing (I'm a Ravenclaw btw) but i only bend the rules if i don't agree with them. And i am INSANELY faithful in what i believe not swaying unless the argument is COMPLETELY relevant.
I understand the anxiousness. Ive been sorted to Ravenclaw twice, once on the old site and again into the current one. I would say Id rather be a Hufflepuff. I think Hufflepuffs are more accomplished and that's what I value more, like a job well done. Im not into research or experiments. I mean I like to learn,yes, but to "apply" what I know and not to get school awards or something. Im not even grade conscious. But I trust Pottermore, if its where I'm placed, so be it. At least I got Beatrix's wand, which boosted my confidence, and a Falcon as my Patronus. So I think i belong to Ravenclaw.

i took the test for the first time trying to get into Ravenclaw, and i get into Slytherin, then i took the test honestly and again i was in Slytherin, funny thing, i didn't thought being in Slytherin was a bad thing, i mean i was unique, among all the people i know they wanted to be in Gryffindor, or in Ravenclaw, but me, being a Slytherin make me for sure, believe that among all of them I'm very special, and green as a color suit me very well. 💚

Also, fun fact: the only Purebloods in the HP series come from a collection of families known as the "Sacred Twenty-Eight: Abbott, Avery, Black, Bulstrode, Burke, Carrow, Crouch, Fawley, Flint, Gaunt, Greengrass, Lestrange, Longbottom, Macmillan, Malfoy, Nott, Ollivander, Parkinson, Prewett, Rosier, Rowle, Selwyn, Shacklebolt, Shafiq, Slughorn, Travers, Weasley, and Yaxley. For some odd reason, the Potters aren't included on this list because Henry Potter had strong pro-Muggle beliefs when he was alive. Strangely enough, the Weasleys are also very pro-Muggle and take a regular interest in the Muggle world but they're still on the list. Honestly, speaking from a logical standpoint, you'd probably be a Muggleborn. Harry Potter is a half-blood because his mother was a Muggleborn and his father was a Pureblood. Severus Snape and Tom Riddle Jr. were also half-bloods.

This is why I think Slytherin is great (aka, In Defense of Slytherin). The sorting hat states that those sorted into Slytherin are destined for greatness. But what exactly defines greatness and how is it achieved? I think the answer lies in something J.R. Rowling said in an interview: Slytherin house was created to balance out the other three houses (i.e. she needed some sort of everyday villain for Harry). When I read that, the word “balance” really stuck out to me and I started thinking “what if, in order to be great, Slytherins were a balance of all of the other houses?” By using Slytherin’s characterizing traits of ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness Slytherins become highly adaptable to any situation. Using their adaptability they are able to take on the traits of the other houses to benefit their need. Think about it, many people say that Gryffindors and Slytherins are very similar houses but Slytherins do not stick their neck out as much as Gryffindors do. Many would also agree that Slytherins are the most similar to the Hufflepuffs, except that Slytherins are loyal to a smaller group of people - usually their friends and family ("perhaps in Slytherin you'll make your real friends"). In addition, Slytherins are often creative and visionary much like the Ravenclaws, more so than any other house, however they like to learn specifically for their benefit not necessarily for their love of knowledge. By using their adaptability, Slytherins are able to master the qualities of the other houses and, when putting all four houses together, can become truly great. Some examples: Snape is a great blend of all four houses. 1) Gryffindor - He was clearly brave. Harry even stated that he was one of the bravest men he’s ever known. 2) Hufflepuff - He was clearly loyal. His love for Lily never faltered and he was consistently loyal to Dumbledore even when Voldemort returned. 3) Ravenclaw - He clearly has high intelligence as he’s a professor of Potions and Dumbledore is constantly asking him for help. 4) Slytherin - He has ambition (to become a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor even though he never gets it. He also is highly adaptable as he’s able to continuously get out of sticky situations with Voldemort. Scorpius Malfoy- 1) Slytherin - He’s charming and resourceful. Whenever they’re in trouble he’s able to find a way out. 2) Ravenclaw - he likes learning new things. He’s a geek. He’s love reading and spending time in the library. 3) Hufflepuff - he is very loyal to Albus. He doesn’t seem to hate anyone, even when others don’t like him. 4) Gryffindor - Over the course of Cursed Child, Scorpius becomes braver and braver, even surprising himself with what he does. Hermione - You’re probably thinking “what?!”, but I actually think Hermione would be an amazing Slytherin. She’s definitely brave (braver than most give her credit for) but does not always jump right into things. She’s thinks things through logically and is always learning new spells to help her succeed (her Ravenclaw side). She is a fiercely loyal friend and loves all people and house-elves (her Hufflepuff side). And she’s definitely cunning and resourceful as we’ve seen her get the trio out of situations time and time again (her Slytherin side). Not to mention she’s ambitious (Minister of Magic!). I think Hermione would fit right in in the house of the serpent. There are other characters that display many, if not all, of the other houses’ traits, but I believe that Slytherins are able to do it best. Their adaptability gives them an advantage to not only pick up the traits very quickly but also master them, thereby making each of them well rounded wizards and truly great.
I always knew I was a Ravenclaw. Even the sorting hat in Harry Potter: The Exhibition said so. My Patronus is an Occamy, I'm happy with my results unlike many others.

I agree! For me it’s Slytherin. I got Ravenclaw on Pottermore but I feel like I’m so much more of a Slytherin. I also feel drawn to it more than any other house

I am a Hufflepuff and yes, it is true. In fact, they supported Cedric Diggory. And a few of them might even protect a few Hufflepuff who made an effort to befriend them

I've taken the test quite a few times. I was always torn between Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I've gotten Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw numerous times, I've even gotten Slytherin a few times and I got Gryffindor once. I would have to agree with Pottermore that I am most like Ravenclaw but I would also have friends in all the houses. Just like in school where I was a nerd but I was somehow friends with everybody.

I got Slytherin four times, so I guess I’m a serpent. I was definitely surprised, as I thought I was a hardcore Hufflepuff. I think a lot of the Slytherin traits such as self-preservation, cunning, fraternity, desiring personal success, and focusing loyalties on a few people make a lot more sense to me. I’m definitely a free spirit and very stubborn. I’m also very much a perfectionist towards myself. Slytherin pride!! 💚

Marybelle Sagard, I was watching Harry Potter And the Chamber of Secrets recently cause well...I am a fan! And I couldn’t help but notice that at the end of the film the Basilisk appears to lose its abilities whenever it reaches close contact with boy Harry.
This happens in the tunnel when the basilisk is blinded it chases Harry into the tunnel where Harry fools it by throwing a stone down the tunnel which The basilisk takes interest in losing interest in Harry mistakenly thinking the stone is...Harry? It’s a snake, couldn’t it detect Harry’s scent with its tongue?
A number of times the Basilisk could murder Harry with ease but whenever it’s near Harry it seems to lose its intelligence.
Let alone when it had Harry out of options on a cliff edge and it knocks itself bloody on a rock side trying to mame Harry.
I get the feeling that the serpent is confused by Harry being a horcrux - sensing Voldemort within Harry?

I've taken this quiz on 4 different occasions for the last few years, and despite sharing some qualities with the other houses I also got Slytherin each result which was is honestly no surprise. As a young kid when I first the Harry Potter books and watched the films, I always looked at myself as a "Gryffindor kid" as many of us probably did, but as I got older I identified more and more with Slytherin and Snape's character. I personally know what it's like to be treated as an outcast by your peers at school, and then growing up to show little compassion towards others than the ones who loved you back, which in Snape's case was Lilly Potter.

I love all the Houses an' can't stand it when they get stereotyped by the negative side of their traits; each trait is both positive & negative but how it's used tips the balance e.g. Voldemort definitely worked hard (a Hufflepuff trait) to achieve his great power but the things he worked towards are very, very horrible (Horcruxes & war) whereas a hard-working healer saves people.
I just found this video because I was just sorted into Slytherin so it is a lot of help for me to understand more about Slytherin and support it.

I've took the Pottermore test 3 times and its said every time I'm hufflepuff!! I disagree with this because I'm nothing like hufflepuff it's just not me, I've asked friends and family and they have all said I'm slytherin and I think i am too so I identify as a slytherin and tbh I think it's best to identify yourself to Which hogwarts house since you know yourself best. Not that there's anything wrong with the quiz I just think I'm more slytherin :D

This is incorrect. Nymphadora Tonks was sorted into Hufflepuff, but her mother, Andromeda Tonks (maiden name Black), was a Slytherin. Along with her two Aunts Bellatrix Lestrange and Narcissa Malfoy (The Black Family lineage). Speaking of the Black family, Sirius Black was sorted into Gryffindor. As mentioned in this video, Harry Potter's (Gryffindor) son, Albus Severus Potter, was sorted into Slytherin. The Patil sisters (Twins), Parvati and Padma were NOT in the same house! Parvati was sorted into Gryffindor, meanwhile Padma was sorted into Ravenclaw. In regards to the test, I haven't gotten any of my family members to take the test. However, my fiance is a Ravenclaw, but I'm a Slytherin. I'll have to test out the Family Members taking the test theory to be true, if I can get my own family members, to take the test.

Ive been sorted to Ravenclaw twice, once on the old site and again into the current one. I would say Id rather be a Hufflepuff. I think Hufflepuffs are more accomplished and that's what I value more, like a job well done. Im not into research or experiments.

i took the test for the first time trying to get into Ravenclaw, and i get into Slytherin, then i took the test honestly and again i was in Slytherin, funny thing, i didn't thought being in Slytherin was a bad thing, i mean i was unique, among all the people i know they wanted to be in Gryffindor, or in Ravenclaw, but me, being a Slytherin make me for sure, believe that among all of them I'm very special, and green as a color suit me very well. 💚

Also, fun fact: the only Purebloods in the HP series come from a collection of families known as the "Sacred Twenty-Eight: Abbott, Avery, Black, Bulstrode, Burke, Carrow, Crouch, Fawley, Flint, Gaunt, Greengrass, Lestrange, Longbottom, Macmillan, Malfoy, Nott, Ollivander, Parkinson, Prewett, Rosier, Rowle, Selwyn, Shacklebolt, Shafiq, Slughorn, Travers, Weasley, and Yaxley.
For some odd reason, the Potters aren't included on this list because Henry Potter had strong pro-Muggle beliefs when he was alive. Strangely enough, the Weasleys are also very pro-Muggle and take a regular interest in the Muggle world but they're still on the list.
Honestly, speaking from a logical standpoint, you'd probably be a Muggleborn. Harry Potter is a half-blood because his mother was a Muggleborn and his father was a Pureblood. Severus Snape and Tom Riddle Jr. were also half-bloods.

This is why I think Slytherin is great (aka, In Defense of Slytherin).
The sorting hat states that those sorted into Slytherin are destined for greatness. But what exactly defines greatness and how is it achieved? I think the answer lies in something J.R. Rowling said in an interview: Slytherin house was created to balance out the other three houses (i.e. she needed some sort of everyday villain for Harry). When I read that, the word “balance” really stuck out to me and I started thinking “what if, in order to be great, Slytherins were a balance of all of the other houses?” By using Slytherin’s characterizing traits of ambition, cunning, and resourcefulness Slytherins become highly adaptable to any situation. Using their adaptability they are able to take on the traits of the other houses to benefit their need. Think about it, many people say that Gryffindors and Slytherins are very similar houses but Slytherins do not stick their neck out as much as Gryffindors do. Many would also agree that Slytherins are the most similar to the Hufflepuffs, except that Slytherins are loyal to a smaller group of people - usually their friends and family ("perhaps in Slytherin you'll make your real friends"). In addition, Slytherins are often creative and visionary much like the Ravenclaws, more so than any other house, however they like to learn specifically for their benefit not necessarily for their love of knowledge. By using their adaptability, Slytherins are able to master the qualities of the other houses and, when putting all four houses together, can become truly great.
Some examples:
Snape is a great blend of all four houses. 1) Gryffindor - He was clearly brave. Harry even stated that he was one of the bravest men he’s ever known. 2) Hufflepuff - He was clearly loyal. His love for Lily never faltered and he was consistently loyal to Dumbledore even when Voldemort returned. 3) Ravenclaw - He clearly has high intelligence as he’s a professor of Potions and Dumbledore is constantly asking him for help. 4) Slytherin - He has ambition (to become a Defense Against the Dark Arts professor even though he never gets it. He also is highly adaptable as he’s able to continuously get out of sticky situations with Voldemort.
Scorpius Malfoy- 1) Slytherin - He’s charming and resourceful. Whenever they’re in trouble he’s able to find a way out. 2) Ravenclaw - he likes learning new things. He’s a geek. He’s love reading and spending time in the library. 3) Hufflepuff - he is very loyal to Albus. He doesn’t seem to hate anyone, even when others don’t like him. 4) Gryffindor - Over the course of Cursed Child, Scorpius becomes braver and braver, even surprising himself with what he does.
Hermione - You’re probably thinking “what?!”, but I actually think Hermione would be an amazing Slytherin. She’s definitely brave (braver than most give her credit for) but does not always jump right into things. She’s thinks things through logically and is always learning new spells to help her succeed (her Ravenclaw side). She is a fiercely loyal friend and loves all people and house-elves (her Hufflepuff side). And she’s definitely cunning and resourceful as we’ve seen her get the trio out of situations time and time again (her Slytherin side). Not to mention she’s ambitious (Minister of Magic!). I think Hermione would fit right in in the house of the serpent.
There are other characters that display many, if not all, of the other houses’ traits, but I believe that Slytherins are able to do it best. Their adaptability gives them an advantage to not only pick up the traits very quickly but also master them, thereby making each of them well rounded wizards and truly great.

I always knew I was a Ravenclaw. Even the sorting hat in Harry Potter: The Exhibition said so. My Patronus is an Occamy, I'm happy with my results unlike many others.
