I was really struggling with the hand whip finish, even after watching numerous videos. I set aside the rest of the evening to watch your video, and practice. Done in five minutes. Hand whip finishing like I’ve done it since birth. “This is so simple…”. 👍 Best instruction ever.
I've been fly tying or trying to for near 20yr and never once done a proper knot I tried the whip tool ages ago but couldn't use it - as long as it holds long enought to varnish or glue it it's fine 😂
@@benseddon9677 had to look that up - My wrists do work (I think), but I was focused on slowing down and exaggerating the motions, while staying in frame with 200 lb. braid. They can be a stiff sometimes due to forearm tightness from working out, and from 14 years of baseball and football lol. Who am I kidding - I have fat immobile wrists 🤷🏻♂️
@@nextlevelangling Uj is a universal joint it's a joint that swivels at crazy angles because your wrist must be crazy flexible to mimic a whip finisher. Anyway great vid. I have the tool but I looked this up as I'm thinking of making a vid of catching a trout using nothing but household items including making an ugly ass fly from a sowing kit and wool. Might have to use my teeth as the vise though 😂.
@@benseddon9677 I think I have below average wrist flexibility and it’s not too difficult. It’s more fingers than wrist once you get the hang of it. Let me know when the video goes up - that’s right up my alley
I hope you all are enjoying the new series! I will be coming out with jig and fly tying tutorials soon! 🤙
