    Hi!It wouldbe great if you would do a video with more glasses( wiyh liquids) on the tray + bottles, coffe cups etc. Since usually you do have more tiems on them.

    Yeah that’s cool with empty ones but if you got a tray of like 7-8 different drinks, ciders filled to the brim, bottles as well and carrying it through a busy pub through the car park, over thick and inconsistent gravel, into the beer garden. F that

      i work part time as a waiter and tbh when the tray is that full i carry with 2 hands, the classy look of the one hand carry is not enough to risk the embaressment of dropping 10 drinks on the floor, or worse on a table/guest.

  • @jen4162
    @jen4162 2 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    A lot of people say that you should always put the heaviest item in the centre for balance, and then remove the heaviest item first when unloading. If the heaviest item is at the back, then wouldnt most of the weight fall at the back? which way is easier?

    • @SadForLyf
      @SadForLyf 2 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      Heaviest item goes on "thumb". And if possible is the last thing you should remove from a tray

    For the newcomers, just drop the fear over spilling drinks, it's going to happen, cannot escape it, so just carry as much as possible. Sooner or later you'll find what suits you best and become amazing. Coming from a 4 month old server, was petrified the first day.

    • @leebarry6463
      @leebarry6463 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      then thats relatively easier becuase you dont have to ask which ones which and risk taking attention off the tray

  • @TM-cf9ek
    @TM-cf9ek 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Well that looks good in theory. In practice it's totally different. You will have on the same tray unstable high glasses (pints) of Amstel/Peroni (extremely unstable) plus a plethora of wine glasses and cocktail glasses. Placing a tray on a table is very unprofessional and banned in most respected restaurants, but allowed in pubs (anyway customers will complain). Unfortunately there's no trick or short learning curve. You must practice and practice (even at home) until you'll be a maestro in tray carrying.

    Are you sure putting the tray at the edge of the table is acceptable serving etiquette?

    • @ojtiv
      @ojtiv 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      i guess it prob depends on how many people are there, if you have space then you can use that space to put the tray down, but on the other hand if theres a table full of people then its probably a better idea to do it off the hand

    • @zahra9890
      @zahra9890 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      I think it depends on the situation and how formal your restaurant is. if you have a full tray with a lot of top weight, and/or it's hard to reach guests it might be more acceptable to put it at the edge

      No its not. A good waiter should be able to carry the tray with one hand and unload with the other. Maybe if you are a waiter at burger king or something you use the edge of the table
