Beautiful, generous, and confident, she spends countless hours practicing the piano every day. She plays the piano so freely on the stage. Her immortal hands create such beautiful music.

That performance has swing. Jazz rhythms. Classical pianists usually can't handle jazz.

Can’t think of one reason why Wang Would sight read anything in front of an audience with a symphony orchestra behind her. It’s a piece she hasn’t memorized yet.

The performance is superb. The piece is as well. First time I've heard Thomas's own music. Bernstein and Copland figure into this, but that's a good thing, especially since Thomas has the composing chops to bring it off.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Yuja sight read the whole piece or maybe only practiced for an hour to get to that level of mastery. Amazing.

@@deboerkanna1 Not quite. There is a floor switch connected by bluetooth to the iPad, you can see it at 1:09 under her left foot, and very clearly on the floor immediately to the left of the pedals at 4:27
Then I stand corrected. But it would be good if the ipad would keep up with her playing.
On that note Yuja also needs the do that on top of all the other things 🤪
Let us hope these self-appointed experts on her dresses dont show up this time in order to ruin this musical experience.

That depends entirely on how well the account holder / channel owner moderates their page and its content. For them, deleting those nonsensical and unfair comments against this extraordinary artist only takes a few seconds of their time.
