Hi guys, I know Arne loves Dolly Parton. I don’t know if you know dolly and her sister just released a cookbook. I’m in America and she’s been on all the shows promoting her book. Just letting you know. I love when the two of you cook. Those are great videos. You two are great.
I love your shirts!! And your lake view and i’d like to tell you that when things get rough, you guys are so pleasant and so much fun to listen to. You’ve just got a knack for it and I’m a knitter and a sewist so I do appreciate all of those tips and seeing things but just in general, you’re just really wonderful to listen to. Thank you so much.
Here's an odd coincidence -- just a day or so ago I was thinking how grateful I was to both of you in 2020 when I first started watching and you explained what a UFO is and didn't seem upset in the least about having them. I had more than a few of my own lying around, and still do. Now I realize I just need a suitcase! Looking forward to seeing your winter sewing 😊
I couldn’t help but think when you showed the pretty big piece of embroidery that you plan to cut up to make more hexi blocks that you could keep it whole and build your top with that piece of embroidery in the center and use all your beautiful hexi blocks around it. Just an idea. Lovely work!
Love the dark coloured log cabin quilt you started. You need to keep that one going. So striking. Or it could be split to 4 cushions to decorate a lounge. Definitely make something with that and show us. 👌
I'm a knitter, but I took up quilting recently and I am OBSESSED! The combinations of color and pattern are ringing all the right bells for me. Thanks for showing your Quilty WIPs. :)
Quilting has a huge organization of homemade quilt makers. They show them in cathedrals on the back of pews for purchase. The work is incredible. It is actual art honestly. I look forward to seeing your quilts finished. Don't make me wait too long. I would like to see them before I die. Just kidding. 😂 Love to you both.❤
Ha Ha boys. You got me thinking if I have unfinished quilt projects, and I have four ongoing. I’m waiting for my room renovation to continue. Yours look lovely. Arne, I like your priorities, dolls clothes get ‘the cream of the crop’. That’s how I chose my fabrics too.
Gosh, so many beautiful fabrics and designs. Your heads must be full of lovely ideas always. Now I want to make a shashiko pillow top but white with blue stitching. Hmmmmmmm......
@@ARNECARLOS after you finish at least one of these 3 quilts, (😆) look into a hanky quilt. I've been saving hankies and thrifting them for a few years as a back burner quilt. The one that inspired me was intricately hand-quilted (as it was mostly very light colors) and hung as a huge wall hanging. Just beautiful!
Arne and Carlos I do love all your quilts. Looking forward to seeing the finished items. You have encouraged me to start a quilt and I look at thrift stores differently now, even for second hand craft books. Keep up the good work. Lots of love.
So much fun! I actually have a quilt that my Grandmother brought with her from Norway which had been made from her girlhood clothes. Love your shirt Arne. You guys are so very inspiring! Mange Tak!
Have you heard of the sunshine and shadows quilts? They make great uses of darks and lights. My MIL (God ❤ her soul) made them, and they were gorgeous. One technique she used to determine between light and dark colors was viewing the material thru her phone camera in black and white to see which material was darker or lighter than another. It is a great technique to use with yarns, too, that are close in color. I'm just sharing some tips since yall give great tips, too. Love you guys, and sharing your life journeys makes my day!❤
Lovely hexagons they will make beautiful quilts for you both. I use a plain material between each hexagon sets and it's nice. Thanks for your lovely video. Sian from North Wales 😊
Arne and Carlos, I Loved the video! Im in the US, and your Norway home environment is so Lovely! You inspired me with your English Paper Piecing! I wasnt sure how I was going to layout a pattern, but now I know...Flowers!! 😃👍👍. I always Love your content, whether its crafting, or cooking, or shopping/thrifting, or travel, or even just talking! Thank you guys! I love to spend a bit of my day with you. ❤❤
Your quilts are going to be smashing! I wish I could get that far with mine….they only get to the point where I can make a pillow cover out of them. I would love to see how the summer quilt looks put together with pale green hexagons around and between each main piece to visually separate them….it might show them off better. You can get the idea just by laying them out on the colored fabric with the proper spacing around each piece and trying different colors. They will be lovely no matter how you do it!
I love your projects! All quilters have works in progress and it’s always fun to start a new project and buy new or old fabrics! I really enjoy your videos and wishing you many hours of enjoyable stitching♥️
❤Yes! Quilting embroidery takes so much time, but who can resist! I could embroider all day. 😊 I very much like log cabin, and similarly rail fence. I made a small rail fence quilt that turned out well. ❄️It’s going to be a quilty winter! ❤
All the hexigon’s blocks are stunning. The crazy quilt I love the where the fabric come from. If you don’t find any more like fabrics you could make it a car quilt size. . ❤❤ I love all of your quilt projects cannot wait to see the progress on them.. ❤
love the idea of the bigger pattern to keep in the hexagons, very clever you are! loving all your quilts you could also make smaller quilts, throws table runners, cushion covers, etc such lovely pieces! you two are so adorable & very calming & inpiring thanx for sharing
Happy Sunday! I loved seeing all of your quilting projects. My mother made many beautiful quilts and love the memories they hold. Have a wonderful week! Hugs for Freja! ❤❤🤗😘
Loved seeing all of your quilty projects. The four log cabin blocks are gorgeous. Don't stop, carry on with it, especially the hand embroidery. Arne, you are the perfect creative crazy patcher. If it doesn't work, adapt it, add other shapes, make it work. Carlos, I saw the look when Arne said you must go thrift shopping to find vintage fabric for the crazy patch made with 'wall insulation' fabric. Please take us along for the search.
Your winter in Norway is longer than mine in northern Ohio, USA, and you are going to need every day of it to finish what you want to do. Love your hexies. The quilts are going to be marvelous.
I have always thought it would be nice to preserve favorite old clothes by putting pieces of them in a quilt, but after watching my mom carry around to multiple homes a log cabin quilt that her mother had started and my mother was always going to finish, I decided that was a rabbit hole I should maybe avoid 🙄 Eventually my mother hired someone to finish my grandmother’s quilt and it’s beautiful! I’m sure all three (four?) of yours will be also ❤
I love all the quilting projects but mostly I find it refreshing that Arne in particular has no guilt about not finishing something. I too have loads of UFOs but I would feel better if I finished some of them. Your crazy quilt is particularly interesting with its heritage fabric. I would sew the 4 patches together and make a pillow, so those fabrics have a life by themselves.
What a nice surprise. I am sitting here sewing my heroes together to make a quilt. My vision is for it to look like a bed of scattered flowers. Take care.
OK, let’s pick the Christmas Hexagon to go at it and get it done by Christmas. I love the crazy pull a trunk and what is in here??? I have a feeling you two are not alone in the quilting world of many quilts under the needle, with a new one on the way……. Oh the JOY of being creative. 🎉
I made a silk crazy quilt using principally neckties donated by the men in my extended family. Some have quite a vintage look. It’s huge - California king size.
Wow, so many on-going quilts, they all look amazing, although my favourite so far is the Christmas one ❤ guys, hurry up to finish it we only have 129days left😂😂😂 As usuall you have cheered me up. Thanks and have a great week ❤ Greetings from Spain😊
So lovely to watch you sorting out your hexagons etc in such a beautiful setting! I love the “threat” to go to a thrift store again. lol. I wish thrift stores in Canada would be as great. It’s fun to share in your ideas about your quilts!
I love quilts so very nice. Anything you two do I love watching. Love your quilts. Can’t wait to see the done. You both are so fun to watch. Love and peace to you both.😊
The heck with the quilts today! I want to jump into the lake!!! The quilts can wait! All kidding aside... the quilt will be amazing, love vintage! Hurry up with the Christmas quilt! Omgoodness...Dolly! She needs a special quilt! Can you bottle up your creativity? I need a good long drink!
I'm busy working on my UFO quilts. I have about seven quilts "almost done" . I have finished two, about five more to do.. so glad to see I'm not the only one.
Hello Arne and Carlos... I just want to say that I just adore the two of you. The quilts are coming along great.... I learned a lot from Norway from you . I must make a trip to Norway... But first I need my hip replacement. I am knitting the Christmas sweaters ornaments early as I watch you on you tube. I also love your thrifting... Be safe and take care. The Christmas quilt is lovely! Why not add a cream or white around your EPP flower motif to spread them about and really make them pop? Or even a green would be ever so cosy. ❤
Love your quilt projects, especially the crazy quilt blocks you showed first. This is a lovely project! Keep stitching and I look forward to watching your progress.
For the Crazy Quilt, I would sew the squares together to form a big square and place them in the centre of a plain background, so when it is on a bed it will be the focus surrounded by a frame. The plain colour could be white, cream or one of the colours in the Crazy Square.

It's so much fun going through piles of fabric. And suddenly new ideas appear 💡
I feel like quilts are like that -- they take so long, and there are so many good ideas, that you always end up with a dozen half-finished quilts. :)
Love the dark coloured log cabin quilt you started. You need to keep that one going. So striking. Or it could be split to 4 cushions to decorate a lounge. Definitely make something with that and show us. 👌

I love a crazy quilt. They are very forgiving. Ive been working on one for a while too. Your home looks so peaceful and ya'll are so talented.

I think you should use the Strawberry Thief fabric for napkins or a table runner for your dining room.
Love all these choices.
Thank you for the suggestion.
