This is EXACTLY the kinda casting I'm lookin for, I like to watch both SC/SC2 and mostly that will be Zerg games What I've been missing from most casters is the in depth knowledge dumps, I do understand they might not want to repeat the same info every single game they cast, but for me as someone who watches more SC then I play it, this is gold!
Ok that "theorycraft" origin story is actually so wild to me. I've used the term and heard it used for years and it always made intuitive sense because one was "crafting a theory". I would have never guessed that it had its origins in reference to Star-CRAFT and it just also happened to make intuitive linguistic sense in the English language as a side bonus.
I actually delayed watching this more than other videos because I wanted to really watch it and not just have it running in the background. I was hoping that he wouldn't make any quick decisions based on viewer numbers in case this was true for other people as well.
Terran walking out on the map with 2 marines when zergs (at least at my level 6 years ago) would routinely make 6 lings really shows the sort of difference between top pros and scrubs. 2 marines would get crushed and put the terran behind at my level, but the zerg was already putting themselves behind by overdefending by cutting 2 drones to make those extra lings. Small edges like that probably look so strange to people unfamiliar with this game. I like to imagine how bad banelings would be if they dealt friendly fire damage. It makes sense that they would, they're just exploding sacks of acid that can kill enemy banelings.
Love to see this! I've gotten into ASL since Day9 stopped covering SC, I'm so excited to hear his takes. It gives me, like...nostalgia for a thing I never actually experienced.
My friends from school and i (35yo colombian) play starcraft twice a week from colombia, canada, Australia and soon spain. We all have watched your lets learn starcraft playlist. Ill guarantee you a daily like, comment and public share of your daily videos. Fight fire with fire 🔥🔥🔥
Sean FRICKEN Plott! Man I have been subbed to you for like 9+ years and I actually saw your channel on my list recently and almost removed you (sorry) and now like a gosu you’re doing SC content again! 2 of my fave memories: you playing Portal, and you playing Last of Us trying to shoot a deer with bow and arrow, using a nature documentary voice and totally whiffing the arrow. I laughed OUT LOUD at work when that happened 😂😂😂 love you guy, thanks for keeping it real.
Dood! 1st time I'm actually understanding the icon of the range upgrade of the marines. For 20 years I've thought this is a wrench putting something in a tube or whatever. So the intended motion was top-left to bottom right. Only now I see it's actually a gun shooting from bottom right to top left of the icon! Things you learn every day...
Glad to see you enjoying the game again, pointing out everything you know they are doing that we don't, embodying the battlefield story and firing up every cylinder of the StarCraft mental engine. So much of what you have always been is this excitement you explain to us about why every little thing that's happening matters as it occurs to your attention, your own interest as a StarCraft gamer watching StarCraft steering the cast. You teach us everything to appreciate about every game, and we feel your excitement for ourselves.🌟
Only Day9 can make it so enjoyable to watch 40mins of video to progress 10min into a match, where only half that time was even talking about the current game
If you want to jump to the Broodwar ladder, that "Crazy Zerg" build requires very little micro and will take you far. Just defend your third expansion, and don't let your opponent take his third. You don't need to hit his natural.
The story about how words change over time resonants so hard with me. People who never used the words just coming into a community and co-oping the thing and then all the younger players start using the new implementation of the word and all of a sudden you're some crazy old person trying to explain how they are using a word THEY came up with wrong. Oooof, being old on the internet is hard work these days. Also I've hated the baneling since the beginning of SC2. It never feels good to just throw gas away for AoE imo and they create a bunch of interactions that I don't think are good for SC2 in general. Too much AoE in that game.
Aww baby really does love your keyboard. What i reccomend is getting an old keyboard that smells like you, one that you used, put it somewhere for them to sit.
Interesting hearing u dun like Banelings. Personally I dun like Queens in SC2. They are crazy good and so in pretty much every matchup you're expected to mass them. I also hate Infestors, basically a miracle if you ever get a 2nd fungal off with any Infestor. Every Infesetor you ever build is basically worth 1 fungal. I wonder if you could adapt Defiler spells to the Infestor 😆
"i don't like banelings" I gasped and immediately swept up my baneling plush into a hug, how dare you also holy shit Brood War in tyool 2024 is wild, I gotta start watching this regularly
I could have sworn SK terran originated with team SK Telecom. All I can find are old forums of people arguing the 2 origin stories. Anybody have a source proving where it came from?
See Day9 do Starcraft content -> Immediately watch it and like it so he does more.
Dude same.
i liked this like so he can do more
This guy gets it 👍
Love Day9 goofing about the players names
This. Exactly this.

Man, this content brings me back. It's like visiting an old friend.
The 21 min game concentrated down to 51 min.
classic day9
a bit too short imo
Thanks again Day9, this is like getting under a warm blanket. So cozy.

Sean uploading SC content: "I wonder how long it'll take old viewers to see these uploads."
OGs: "We never left"
I actually delayed watching this more than other videos because I wanted to really watch it and not just have it running in the background. I was hoping that he wouldn't make any quick decisions based on viewer numbers in case this was true for other people as well.
@@Novacification I had Hearthstone in the background while doing other shit and did exactly the same when I got to the Starcraft videos :D

I wish day9 would cast one starcraft game a month. Even a little trickle would make me so happy i watched the learn starcraft games 7 times each.

I love it when Day9TV✔ looks into the camera and says the iconic phrase: "It's time to brood." and then broods all over the place.
Man I forgot just how fun Broodwar is to watch
16:11 dude for real- dealing with Goon pressure on my bunker in TvP was hell when I was learning this game.

I really do miss the shout casting of SC2 that was a decade ago. And I’m loving the SC1 casting. . . . He could shout more.
21 minute game, 51 minute video. You know there's some good Day9 in this.
Wow. The etymology of "theorycrafting" blew my mind.

Brings me back to college days listening to husky starcraft
I always assumed SK stood for South Korea, hence South Korean Terran being what the most established and common top unit comp was in Korea.
16:10 it seems to be easier for me to lose in SCBW than for my opponent though :)
Only Day9 can make it so enjoyable to watch 40mins of video to progress 10min into a match, where only half that time was even talking about the current game
@0:12 "What map is this?"
I think we all know the answer to that one ... is it possibly sylphid?
I don’t know why this one didn’t show up in my subscription feed but I’m glad it popped up in my recommended
Day9 guest hosting an ASL finals would be amazing, just manifesting here
I'm back for some nostalgia. Inject it into my goddamned eyes.
Day 9's tanget about how history changes over time is 200 iq
i love how happy and excited you are to stream some SC
Day9 has 45 mins of incredible commentary for a 15 min match and this is why I watch his videos LOL
Making a company called Jobber Inc. now... XD
33:31 Speed is almost finished building a marine.
40:13 The marine finishes.
God this makes me so happy to see you do this again. Would love to see you commentate one of Artosis' games, just for giggles.
Loving the SC content. Great to have you back!
BROOOOOODWAAARRRRRRRRRRR
DatzTeacher is SamSung KHAN's ArtUser/ByungSoo :P

Just commenting to push the algorithm in support of Day9 doing SC again
I'm hoping for a Tastosis collab soon...
Did... Did you just ban your cat? 9:02
39:00 cat ears
I'm officially mind blown to learn where theorycrafting came from, wtf!!!
oh my sleeping drone is backkkk baby
Classic ZvT, it is go time!
Jobber Inc. lmao
Instant nastalgia hearing and seeing you cast SC again!
yes to day9 broodwar analysis
Love the brood war content.
i thought it was the terrans in the pro gaming team SK that prefered this way of playing with bio/sv.
"Excuse me"
*Angry cat noises*
STARCRAFT WILL NEVER DIE!!
Broodwar casting is baaack!!
not sure if day9 is having the mandela effect with sk terran, though i’ve never bothered looking up the etymology myself
Day9 is the Dan Carlin of Star Craft
I feel like i need a hypercut with no pauses, this feels very hard for me to watch with the breaks
I like to think that Seans silences people in chat not because they're bad people, but because what they said was out of character.

this zerg really fell apart at the end wow. Took their cheese too far, cut one corner too many
dont get me excited for the possibility of meta infested terrans lol
SC:BW
Aww baby really does love your keyboard.

Brood war!
It would be cool to see day 9 play halo wars 1 or 2, 2s my favorite rts
Subbing in hopes to see more BW!
help!! what year is this?
Calls zoomers superior "Jargoneers" while just creating the greatest word in history.
More StarCraft content, please! 😀
"i don't like banelings" I gasped and immediately swept up my baneling plush into a hug, how dare you
also holy shit Brood War in tyool 2024 is wild, I gotta start watching this regularly
Did the game end or something?
I could have sworn SK terran originated with team SK Telecom. All I can find are old forums of people arguing the 2 origin stories. Anybody have a source proving where it came from?
the issue is that fantasy usually went mech instead of sk terran
For christ sake don't pause while explaining
If i had 1 dollar for each time you pause the video I could buy blizzard
I really like the commentary but constantly pausing the replay might make the viewers lose interest.
it has been Day9 style for ages its his thing :D Day9 was actually the first one to ever get a subscribe button on twitch :D
Day9 is such a Karen
You paused and analyzed 60% of this game. I don't even think you know how to play. Artosis would agree with me
Is this a troll comment? I genuinely can't tell if you're serious.
