7:07 this is the good stuff. Stopping everything and viscerally reacting to... someone starting a carapace upgrade. Takes me back to day9 dailies of the ancient times.
Funny detail about the fast Carapace upgrade: it also has saved me multiple times from sneaky dt's annihilating my droneline as they don't 1 shot anymore and you get an actual warning message that you're attacked. So pretty good if you're bad and don't check the minimap too often! :p Also Day9 love the BW commentaries! Tastosis is absolutely great but the viewpoint from a zerg player for once is very refreshing
Glad to see you enjoying the game again, pointing out everything you know they are doing that we don't, embodying the battlefield story and firing up every cylinder of the StarCraft mental engine. So much of what you have always been is this *excitement* you explain to us about *why* every little thing that's happening matters as it occurs to your attention, your own interest as a StarCraft gamer watching StarCraft steering the cast. You teach us everything to appreciate about every game, and we feel your excitement for ourselves.🌟
Correction - a burrowed unit next to another burrowed&irradiated unit will not take irradiation damage - not entirely true that burrow status is irrelevant.
Been watching your Broodwar content since the legendary Chill vs Combat-X. Feeling some things I haven't felt in a long time watching these casts. Really happy to see you back in your origin story!
@@gdas4575 Good question. I imagine there are some scuffed versions somewhere on youtube. Unironically asking on one of the liquipedia forums or something might be a good start too! Day9 Has changed a lot since then (it's been like 20 years), but although he was more vulgar, it is still a hilarious cast and a great watch.
Dark swarm causes all ranged attacks to miss, but does not prevent splash damage or melee attacks. Meanwhile, burrowed units are immune to splash damage under most circumstances. Reavers can kill burrowed lurkers under dark swarm because they deal melee damage for whatever reason. You can also situationally deal splash damage to burrowed units by targeting units behind them, but this is rarely done on purpose.
If you like watching Snow, check out the videos of Snow playing Artosis. He's such a character, it's great. Every time I see him do shuttles or any sort of engagements, I can just hear his evil laugh.
God dammit I missed you You literally taught me everything I know about brood war Ok figuratively, Falcon Paladin taught me a lot too, but you're such a blessing to have around ❤
IIRC Burrowed units under dark swarm don't even take the splash damage from radial attacks? Like Archons and Siege Mode. Which makes them only splashable while they're running into position.
I played CS 1.6 competitively from 2002-2013 and calculated my playtime at around 40k hours (not including tourney watch time etc.) I guarantee you've done more than 30k hours in SC1/BW.
Man, please do starcraft content once in a while at least. You have a very unique style that the community enjoys. Even if its one video a month or something
Sean your BW content is great, though it would be a lot better if you commented without pausing the vod. Better 2 relatively shorter games with analysis spread over them, where the vods run continuously.
33:00 - "I can give expert commentary on BW." Literally the next sentence: "It doesn't matter for lurkers if they are burrowed under dark swarm or not."
You'll love him until you play him.
lmao, I can still hear his laughter and footclapping from that one ladder game he played against you
Show match surely?
Snow. On a Barcode. 1800MMR so you'll lose 60 goddamn points.
Cross spawns. 14 Nexus. Chat SCREAMING at you to ATTACK and TAKE A THIRD.
Perfect artosis comment
So good to see Day9 putting out broodwar content.
Hes already moved on to starcraft WoW now. Looks like we're done boys. See you all in 10 years
@@copyRtest1 He said it got so much attention back, he will give us from time to time Broodwar.
I forgot how much I love listening to Day9 talk about Broodwar. This is your calling man
For those that doesn't understand korean...
Near the end, the zerg player was asking snow what he did wrong and how he could have improved.

Ahhh two days in a row of Brood War! My sick day today was ASL to GSL to this! What an absolute blessing, best esport and best game of all time.

I still enjoy going back and watching that once in a while.
Thank you for reminding me to watch that!
Where can i find that?

I would watch Day9 cast Broodwar for eternity

Reavers damage is melee, because they actually does not do dmg. They send some baby archons that suicide on hit (melee)
Sean, love that you're back on Starcraft streaming! Keep it up :D

I’m crying I’m so happy
I need more SC1 videos like this. You are the best one I've seen with the best explanations.
I've always wanted to play these type of games but never had the time for it- but these
.. I love watching these for some reason ❤
My favorite part of this is that both players are our heroes.
Welcome back my dude
Yellow Zerg and Purple Protoss....that's confusing, as exemplified here 5:56
If the colors were opposite it'd be perfect
i was listening to your Audio Podcasts on Team Liquid before you went to youtube. man, the good old days.
glad to see you back in SC
I love this game so much and I don’t fuckin know what half the units are
TT1, 'quantity is a quality in itself'
Stalin: _entered the chat_
Wolfenstein, made by Raven published by iD Software. Now Microsoft owns both of them
God dammit I missed you
You literally taught me everything I know about brood war
Ok figuratively, Falcon Paladin taught me a lot too, but you're such a blessing to have around ❤
Wow thats great there's so many new Brood War players.
day j is back. BEAR SEMEN !
Thanks for doing SC1-week. It's really nice to see :)

im so glad for this thank you day9
i need more of this
I'd love to see Sean play a game or two himself.
Snow definitely a revolutionary player ❤
I'm getting PTSD flashbacks from OP reavers.
What the hell is going on, just day9 bw content day after day
I've been following you since you played Brood Wars. I just realized you might be Canadian.
:O
I played CS 1.6 competitively from 2002-2013 and calculated my playtime at around 40k hours (not including tourney watch time etc.) I guarantee you've done more than 30k hours in SC1/BW.
That's an average of 10 hours a day for 11 years.
petition to change "leg enhancements" to "zealot zoomies"
Whoa flashback overload
Listening to Sean talk is more entertaining than the game
Man, please do starcraft content once in a while at least. You have a very unique style that the community enjoys. Even if its one video a month or something
are you planning on also streaming Stormgate?
BROOOODWAARRRRR AAHHHHHHH

More brood war pls
where is everbody playing bw at? i thought iccup stopped bw support
on bnet servers
33:00 - "I can give expert commentary on BW." Literally the next sentence: "It doesn't matter for lurkers if they are burrowed under dark swarm or not."
Well for one, they can attack while burrowed
this is why context its important.
If he were a Terran player, he would know the terror of infinity siege tanks failing to kill a single lurker (but only after it burrows)
Why does it feel like the SC1 devs really hated zerg? Oh you're a horde bug faction? How does a control group of 12 units max, sound to you?
finally wokeness left and back to games
OhYou'reSeriousLetMeLaughEvenHarder.gif
@@Bomfunker91 who talks like that lmao
wat
Just let the video play man. Jesus christ. You don't need to pause every time you speak.
