@@incutainment5284 Funday Monday was the best thing he ever did by a mile what a cool thing for the community. We love you Day9 thanks for more SC2 content. Loved the BG3 playthrough so much also.
Hey Day9! I just wanted to tell you, as someone who's been following you for many years, what an insane pleasure it is to see you comment Starcraft games again
I’ve recently gotten into WinterStarcraft casting SC2 because I felt that itch to watch again. I watched him cast this series and it’s crazy how someone like Winter, who is more up to date on current meta and general strategy, comes away and says this series was one of the best of all time and that game three was easily one of the greatest SC2 games ever. Enter Day9 who had to shake off some cobwebs to get back to his old SC hat on and he comes to the exact same conclusion. This series is one of the best in SC history and it’s awesome to see Day9 hopping back into the SC universe and grace us with his witty commentary and charm.
Day9 commentating SC2 is such a blast from the past. I loved Funday Monday. The stunned expression followed by ".....quicklyyyy!!" still makes me laugh.
This takes me back. I remember being a new dad and broke as hell. We could barely afford rent let alone internet around 2010. So the internet got shut off but someone had an open network with a single bar near my apt..... my son and I would watch the sc2 Day[9] daily as it was the only form of entertainment we could get at the time. My 3 year old son was so ENAMOURED by Day9 and his explanations of terran play. When he turned 4 he actually drew the classic "Terran power graph" at pre school. I cherished that picture. I lost it somewhere in between then and now being a divorced single dad. Seeing Day[9] casting tho, bring back all these memories. Thanks, Day9, for keep a struggling dad and his son entertained back in the day.
I think watching a lot of pros im like with years of hard work and dedication maybe I could achieve that. Watching Clem im like…not in a thousand lifetimes could I micro like that
A bit like chess isn't it? Added the continuous practice, at this point some gamers have been doing SC2 for over half their life. They don't walk as good as their mechanics in this game. In a way it is sad though. It is a fun game but I can't imagine so many hours everyday for over a decade on it and seeing the massive drop in viewership (thanks so much Blizzard pervs for not simply have pushed more extension, and tried instead to fry it with a pointless cheap skinning shop) not making them sick of it. Look at the old school boxer, that look when he plays, , Stefano who said he just doesn't enjoy this anymore after just a couple of years of prime time, if that. Day9. I didn't see this face for what, 5y. Can't recall when he went under water or whatever, is that the same man. He looked far younger than me then, his last shoot I could watch was when he was thrilled to finally complete his master degree in multimedia something, I wondered why some barely over 18 who already made a career in a field teachers don't even exist would pay 12k for a year getting told how to make PowerPoint and use visio. But anyway, now he looks like my dad. Maybe skmetbjg to do with the desillusion sc3 would really never come out. No offense if you read that dude. You still have the exact same energy and enthusiasm, keep at it
Back when I was made redundant in 2010, watching your live streams of SC2 through the week (Time zones don't exist when you're unemployed) always put a smile on my face - and I truly believed I could be a better gamer (I couldn't) The nostalgia of seeing you in SC2 takes me back to a place where I instantly want to do the Fusion Core dance.
Reminds me of the old Total Biscuit tournaments. They had that one map where there was a giant artillry gun you could fight over in the middle of the map REALLY mixes things up
I don't watch much Day9 anymore, mostly because I have less time than I used to for games. But i will forever watch Day9 SC2 content. Every time. It is pure classic and is so nostalgic for me after watching... I'm pretty sure... every damn Daily back in the day. Edit: 6 min in, and we're already into a romantic interaction metaphor for an SC2 strategic decision. That's my boy.
Geez. I didn't even play this and I need to take a walk around the block to calm my nerves. What an utterly insane match up this was. Good to see you back at it with SC(2) Day9.
Wow, this really takes me back. I've been a fan of yours since the good 'ol Funday Mondays. I feel like even though SC2 has less players than before, the quality and variety in the games is at its peak, even more than when LOTV first came out. It makes me so happy to hear you analyze them. Thanks for casting!
My dream is seeing Day9 coaching Artosis on terran on sc1, just the two polar opposites sides of life, black and white, life and death, the fundamental diccotomy of existence, in a nice macro game
what amazes me is that i''ve watched live that brood war pvt Sean mentions it, and comeback to watch the vod from sc2 day to see if that meta is translating to sc2 too. Nice one Sean, since 2013 making me love watching you.
Blizzard sucks, and yet it brings me such joy seeing you cast SC2. It reminds me of TotalBiscuit, The Cynical Brit playing Terran and getting energized about rushes, ghosts, motherships, and nydus networks -- it was a joy to see SC2 in its prime with all of y'alls lovely faces
Day9, I dunno if you look at TH-cam comments, but I just have to let you know that I had that Power Rangers movie on VHS as a kid and watched it like at least 23 times, and your Ivan Ooze joke awakened long dormant memories for me.
I have never played Starcraft and shar a love-hate relationship with RTS in general. I just don't have to IQ, let alone the APM, to actually play the genre in any competitive capacity. BUt damn I LOVE the genre. I got to watch Day9 in his golden hearthstone era, and I kept watching because every single piece of content he makes is gold. This right here feels like home
I stopped playing starcraft since lotv (got high master in wol & hots) but i still love watching sc2 casts. Still watchong harstem and artosis casts regularly. Thank you for your cast. I guess im not the only one leaving sc2 but still watching gsl codeS etc because of thr nostalia. Its totally ok to cast this game without having all this deep understanding and knowledge of the game in the current state. Im super glad to have a cast with a more general view of the game ❤ love you since day9 daily and always keept on watching even past the sc2 days. Keep on going. Would love to have more sc2 cast with you ❤
Coming back to StarCraft 2 after watching Day9's recent Brood War videos reminds me so much why Brood War is so much more fun to watch. I think Day hit the nail on the head with how in Brood War pros spread their army out into smaller groups and in StarCraft 2 it revolves much more around these death balls that can end the game instantly. This is exactly the type of game where it wouldn't be close to over in Brood War and Terran could have had a come back, but this game ends so anti climatically. I remember early on in StarCraft 2 the best matchups by far were TvTs because they revolved much more around map control rather than throwing your big death ball at the enemies big death ball. Because of that the matchup felt closer to Brood War play. Judging by this game, there is certainly more raiding and map control these days, but armies disappear so quickly due to the nature of much stronger SC2 hard counters, much tighter unit packing, and more forgiving pathfinding the deciding battle was over so quickly and was so anti climactic.
As a Sc2 fan, I can agree fights last to short in sc2 but for the rest... the few sc1 matches i watched seemed much less about multiprong attacks and harass then modern day sc2. Simply put for me sc2 seems much more exciting, fighting on multiple fronts, the mythical death ball fights are a thing of distant history. Can you recommend a few of the best series of sc1 so i can compare?
You really didn't have to point out that was 14 years ago. OOF!!! Definitely cut the classes I was paying for in undergrad so I could watch all of Day9's SC2 classes and ladder haha!!
Great games, love how the strats change over the years, and clem defence first resource conserving is a great offensive strategy in a world of limited resources.

ive been getting back into SC2 lately. I really appretiate it now after a few years away playing broodwar.. Both games are fantastic in their own way. I think SC2 will age like a fine wine.

THIS is the very first time you said why. I mean we knew you always put a lot on your plate. But everyone likes you more than Loko and Winter. We would have supported 1 education video per week and maybe the rest just hanging out. That would have been fine. And that probably didn’t work for you back then because you wanted to give us the max. The best of you. The most you could give. And that’s great but not at the cost of losing you completely from the StarCraft 2 community. Glad to see you back. We hope you are back. Please be back. Life is short we need you back.
