Wonderful!! So informative content about the place. Scenary and music are always so affecting. Loved the way you begin (with morning light) and end (with sunset) the video. Thanks for making this fabulous video.
I have my first trip to Sri Lanka planned for next month, especially to explore the northern part. It was hard to find any travelogue of Indians to Jaffna. Finally, I stumbled upon your Sri Lanka series this week and finding it really interesting. I'm actually taking notes about the places I shouldn't miss🙂 Thanks for the awesome series!
Really awesome, Jaffna, the home of the Tamil traditional homelands, recovering from 30 years of brutal war, it looks like there is peace, and some prosperity, but the people are still scared by the conflict, may be the next generation of Tamilians will enjoy the peace as memories fade. And the Sinhala-Buddhist hegemony is ever present, true harmony is still far away, but time could heal that too. Views are epic.
Thanks Anton. There's certainly peace there but it'll certainly take more time to heal...I hope peace stays in the region and all the good things will then hopefully follow..
6:30 Lord Buddha came here to resolve a conflict between 2 influencial brothers of Naga Tribe. Before prince Vijaya's arrival Sri Lanka was dominated by Naga, Yaksa, Raksa and Deva tribal groups. King Ravana believed to be a warrior king of Yaksa tribe who dominated all the other tribes as well. As the legend goes all those tribes could claim ruling power anytime if they overpower the current ruling tribe, because all the tribes were equal in status.
Nice video, thanks! For information, the island is called Nainativu Island not Nagadeepa. Nainativu is the original Tamil name, Nagadeepa is just the sinhalazation of that name.
That's a constant challenge. Most others want me to vlog only in Hindi but I do a mix as that's how I speak in life as well. I will add subtitles soon for all the videos.
