As a Tamil guy from India, I'm so surprised how the streets and shops of Jaffna look so much similar to any other town in Tamilnadu. Seems like a place across the border that feels much like home. Despite many invasions and struggles in the past, the people of Jaffna have been able to stick to their roots and identity of the Tamil culture. This makes me wanna visit there and explore much more about the place and its culture.❤️❤️❤️

AKka / Anna, I wanted to share some information about the Jaffna Public Library that might clarify things. This library was primarily focused on preserving Tamil culture, history, and literature. In fact, almost 99% of its collection consisted of Tamil books, manuscripts, and historical documents. It was a treasure trove of Tamil heritage and one of the most significant cultural losses for the Tamil-speaking world when it was burned in 1981.
There may have been a very small number of non-Tamil books, like Sinhala or English texts, included for academic purposes, but they were not the focus of the library. This library was not just a building-it represented generations of Tamil history and knowledge.
I hope this helps clarify! 😊

I am very delighted to see this video clip. People in the North are very hospitable to those from the south. Same thing is true other way as well. People in the south treat visitors from North and East as one of theirs. I heard a story that a Viharsthipathi in Matale gave free accommodation and food for about 158 school kids who had some unexpected hardships during their educational tour. There are of course some people with extreme ideas on both sides as expected that try to create some volatility. But it is heart warming to witness there is a huge section of lankan population wants to put aside all the differences, and find the common thing that unite as one. After all we all are Sri Lankans. Vanakkam, Jayawewa. Asallam alikum, jesu pihittai.

As a Tamil indian from Tamil Nadu, I would like to visit our tamil brethren places in sri lanka like jaffna, Batticoloa, amparai and meet the north and east tamils and hear their way of speaking tamil. I am very curious on their dialects. Also, would like to visit other beautiful parts of sri lanka like galle, colombo, nuware eliya etc. Meanwhile, the channel is good and very interesting.. congrats

I am from Colombo. Few years back i visited the lovely city Jaffna by air. I stayed at the city itself for 3 days. Withing the city i walked every day, to the Jaffna library, towards the hospital, to the market place next to the hospital, towards the Jaffna Fort etc etc. Most importantly the tour to the Sangupiddy Bride was AMAZING I just could not believe my eyes. It was my first visit and i hope to visit again!!!!

The original Jaffna Library was built and funded by Jaffna Tamil locals. It had 97,000 volumes of books and ancient Tamil manuscripts depicting their history on the island. The library was burnt down by UNP members, Sri Lankan Police and Sinhalese mobs. There were no Sinhalese books of any significance in the library.

    Excellent and professional documentation.
Fox resort is just 500 m from my home, during 1990 to 1995 LTTE camp and it continued since 1996 to 2010 as SL army camp, this actual owner was one of the two founder of Capital Maharaja group, in late 1970s South Indian superstar Rajanikanth's film shooted here and produced by Capital Maharaja.
In Srilanka early part Iyakar and Nagar, Nayinathivu for Nagar community.
Next time don't forget to Visit
1- Mathagal- sinhala people known as Dambugolapadnam - Hon Sangamita (Buddhism) enter to Srilanka .
    2- Neduntheevu- Delft Island
3-Kanthadroodai- Kathurukoda- one of the old business city with Buddhism remnants
    4-Nilavarai well ever dry well
    Etc etc
