I really appreciate that you approached this topic without claiming to have it all figured out. it was really refreshing to hear from another woman about where she is in her journey of learning to obey through modesty. I feel encouraged to continue putting energy toward dressing modestly even though sometimes it’s hard work and doesn’t feel like it’s worth the effort. Thanks, Anna! 😊

I'm really enjoying your videos! I feel like you are saying a lot of the same things I would say if I did a TH-cam channel. I have had the privilege of helping some newly saved women learn how to dress modestly. I enjoyed taking them shopping and helping them find some nice clothes they can wear to church. It is such a blessing to help others in their journey when they want to learn, and I am learning things from them, too. I love how you humbly share your heart and how the Holy Spirit is leading you. I am on this journey too and have noticed that as I grow, the Holy Spirit is convicting me in many of the same ways He is convicting you. I love how He changes our hearts, and I sure do need it! I'm so thankful for women like you who are sharing how God saved them and how He is gently leading them to Biblical obedience! It's a beautiful thing!

Thank you for this yet again Anna! When people realize that The Lord has everyone on a different journey and we need to support our Sisters In Christ no matter what area of our lives HE is working on us in. I am also on this journey as a 54 yr old woman, saved in 08/2020 and my whole life has been changed, including all my clothing. I have never felt like a woman and feminine before and would NEVER wear dresses. Now it is such a conviction of mine that God has put in my heart, I have fun going out looking for dresses that will please God, my Husband and that I feel like The Lord was with me and we both are happy with the style that is God honoring.

Dear Anna, you are such a sweetheart. I love your openness to learning and growing. I grew up in the wild and crazy 60's and 70's. I was like you, all about strutting my stuff. When I got saved at 25, I floundered for a few years. When I finally settled in as a wife and mom, I wanted to be God's gal all the way. I'm 70 this year and I'm still learning SOOOO much. My personal convictions are pretty high now in clothing, (of course they better be at my age, I certainly don't want to make someone ill, ha, ha) meaning, tops that don't show stuff when I bend over, no hint of cleavage, back, upper thighs or belly. I remember watching your wardrobe video and feeling a bit uncomfortable. Not wanting to hurt your feelings I just prayed about it. I think it would be very interesting if we took a pole from men as to how much flesh revealed is difficult for them not to have lustful thoughts. If even one is triggered, perhaps it would be something to think about. I love your videos; you are such an encouragement. Blessings and hugs!

I turned 70 in late January. Still learning also, and didn't care too much about modesty in high school. But my Christian mother was right all along(as usual), and when I took God much more seriously in my 20's my tastes in clothes and makeup just seemed to change automatically. God changed me, I believe.

Years ago "Every Man's Battle" a book on how men/boys react to immodest clothing women were wearing. My younger friend & I confirmed those thoughts with our husbands. So my friend & I did Mother-daughter talks in churches. They were well accepted. We were also invited to a University Bible study group. We were shocked that young men would be there also but we pushed through. A few men talked to us after about their struggles. I'll never forget one said, "Wow. You nailed it." All that to say by having large or small gatherings will bring in people who want to hear. No judgment ❤

Thanks for sharing this. Was halfway through buying clothings. And i come to realise that, you humble me even more with the content. Was buying thin straps Christmas dress. And then after hearing, i changed my mind. Glad that the seller was not angry at me. But still, the convictions were strong. I didn't feel comfortable with showing my shoulders and back anymore 😂 i used to do that. And it attracted a lot of unnecessary lustful desires from a guy i was dating. That led to heartbreaks. Got convicted and reminded again. So thank you!

Anna, please pray for me. This has been an area of great struggle and confusion for me. For awhile, i was wearing more modest clothing, dresses and skirts. And gradually I've drifted back to my old ways of dressing. I feel like the enemy keeps telling me, "Nobody really cares, you can dress how you want", or "You're not being yourself if you dress modestly, you're trying to be someone else". I dont get much advice from my husbamd either, so that doesnt help. So, please, pray, i hear God's voice and follow Him in this area. Thanks so much for sharing this. It's incredibly helpful. ❤

I think modesty is such an act love, not only for men, but also for other women. most of us struggle with comparison, and dressing modestly is a way to give up that aspect of “competition”. I can think of few better ways to show yourself and others respect than by dressing modestly.

    • @JmJendtimes
      @JmJendtimes 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Yes, this is so true. I am have suffered from comparing myself to others most of my life, and found it especially difficult being on holiday with so much flesh being flaunted and feeling not good enough. If everyone dressed modestly, it would open up so many more conversations and maybe friendships, as you feel you can connect and speak to others women without it being a competition or being faced with bits of flesh as you try and speak!!!! It's so easy to dress modestly. The young girls today are being so badly misled to believe their worth is in how much flesh they can show. It's very sad.

Amen to this being a journey! I grew up a Christian but I placed so much worth in my appearance and my ability to gain interest through what I wore. In the last two years the Lord has convicted me on some things but mostly it's just been a gradual, natural change. I literally woke up one day and looked at the clothes I'm now wearing and thought "Wow the Lord did a work in me" and I didn't notice the process. I only wear leggings at night at home when I'm 100% sure there's no one going to knock on the door 😅 but even the neck lines on my clothing have slowly risen higher and now I'm much more comfortable in high necked clothes which wasn't something I ever really felt convicted about

Vanity is a stumbling block for most of us (including myself) because it focuses on self-admiration and outward appearance, often leading to pride and self-centeredness. When someone is preoccupied with their looks or seeks validation from others, it can distract from spiritual growth and humility.
Choosing a dress with a higher neckline maintains modesty and avoid the pitfalls of vanity by focusing more on inner qualities rather than external appearance.

I really like how you say that modesty is a journey.
I follow on TH-cam a woman who made me discover modesty and it changed a lot of things for me.
She was asked by a member of the church to give clear instructions so she did: knees and shoulders covered, no cleavage.
When going to church, arms covered to the elbow.
And a woman should dress with skirts and dresses, no pants or jeans.
Fortunately we can look modest and feminine and pretty at the same time.

Oh! On the topic of convictions/listening to others, the only major opinion (aside from yours and the Lord's) is your husband's! If he's a Christian too, then seeking his guidance and input on fashion choices can really help. My husband is really the one who refined my modesty journey because he (being an ex atheist) was very aware of which outfits would make men really objectifying what I was showing them

I cannot imagine dressing how I once did. I wish I could go back and huge my younger self who thought she was most beautiful showing skin and wearing revealing clothing. Now all I care about it is my husband and the Lord knowing what my body looks like and respecting both my God and husband in this way. It has brought me a sense of peace and closeness to the God❤️

May I add something respectfully? Many churches and religions with either clothing requirements or modesty requirements can be extreme. I have noticed in many cases that some hide in this modesty. Many people don't take care of their bodies and are obese or poor hygiene or live in shame of their bodies. Living under modesty and cover without taking care of themselves in these areas and many spouses suffer because of it. It's a type of false pride hypocrisy and self-righteous indignation. A martyr. Some are in religious sexual shame and that is horrible for not just the individual but their spouse and children as some women leverage sex that way while shaming their husbands. These are forms of abuse. Some churches even have underwear requirements that are monitored. Modesty is important for many reasons but we also must find a healthy BALANCE. I also add MANY jealous women in the church shame beautiful women who dress attractive and desire them to be unattractive and this is also a fact. A study recently was done where older women who were hairdressers encouraged beautiful younger attractive women to cut their hair off and do very short haircuts. It was for ONE REASON ONLY to make those BEAUTIFUL women less appealing SO the unattractive women feel better about themselves. The layers of deceit the devil uses are very multifaceted and one must really be aware especially in the church as "your enemies will be among your own household". Beautiful woman, your spouse is very blessed. Peace and prayers.

That Greek word means "long & flowing," so I've heard that means people in general, men & women, should wear long & flowing clothing. However, I haven't decided to implement that in my life. I personally believe that The Holy Spirit is suppose to convict us. By us reaching out to someone and bringing up their flaws can be offensive and we can become stumbling block to that person even if it's with good intentions. We can give advice if and when asked. Other than that, let's pray for them that The Holy Spirit convicts to the point that they can't be calm when wearing certain clothing or even acting a certain way. We all have our weaknesses and flaws. I do believe that there are ways to bring up the subject of modesty without having to offend any of our sisters in Christ. For example: women's retreats or conference...etc. I enjoy you channel. Thanks for sharing.

I actually feel more confident and beautiful in conservative clothing then I ever did in immodest clothing. I wonder if I felt uncomfortable and self conscious in my 20s simply because of my clothing.

Hi Anna. Here's how God showed me about modesty and I teach my girls the same thing. Men are physical. If what we wear is going to turn the head of a man yo look at us inappropriately then it's not modest. The more skin we reveal the more a man will look. That's my conviction God gave me. I just wanted to share that with you. But you did show me something today. I can voice my convictions to my girls and have them pray God shows them what modesty is. They have to go on their own convictions. Thank you for pointing that out. Have a great day! And I'm looking forward to your next video.

Anna my mother in law told me that when she was in church her preacher told her to not wear short sleeves I just could not believe it. He said a woman is supposed to cover her arms needless to say I completely disagree if you are in church wear whatever. I mean of course I feel that you shouldn’t have a short mini skirt on in church but seriously it’s better than it of us who isn’t going at all. I believe in God whole heartedly but I watch about Jesus and I learn alot but I don’t go to church. I feel they judge a lot. I don’t have tattoos but I know my mother in law was convinced being a Christian herself that all three of my children were doomed to hell because they have tattoos. But honestly we went to a Penecostal church about 10 years ago and my daughter had no tattoos then but there was a guy who was coming around when the choir was singing and putting his hand like up on your shoulders, and asking if you needed prayer and the second he touched my daughter she was filled with the Holy Ghost and began speaking in tongues. It was so beautiful. My husband is really against my children getting them also but I really feel that if you love one another do your best and love God you will make it into the Kingdom of heaven. I loved all your dresses and I love listening to you and you are so beautiful inside and out❤

Because this topic sparks much controversy, I just have to add this small portion of an article by Mary A. Kassian called; Does God Care What I Wear? "Our clothing is supposed to tell the truth about the gospel. It shows the world that Jesus covers our shame and makes us decent. Our clothes cover our nakedness as the clothing of Christ covers our sin Rev. 3:18 Clothing is not meant to be about us, it's meant to display deep and profound truths about God and the gospel of Jesus Christ. Spiritual adornment is the reality, physical adornment is the symbol of that reality. A woman whose heart has been made beautiful through holiness will delight to dress in a way that pleases her Lord." Now, that is something to ponder.

I'm in a holiday resort right now, and the amount of flesh on show is really quite astounding. I see women showing their whole flesh in skimpy bikinis whilst their young sons are with them, daughters wearing next to nothing and their Dad's being ok with it. Even my husband gets fed up of it, he is trying to avert his eyes constantly! And then you see the Muslim ladies who dress modestly so well, and yet it's so sad to me they are following a false god 😢 It's such a jumbled up world we live on! Blessings to you all 🌻

11:51 you state in your video that "He doesn't need you." Its much more than Him allowing you to be used, but that He wants to use you and He wants your all. He wants you intimately. He wants to utilize you and He will make a move in your life as long as you keep abiding in His presence and spreading His truth with His authority. You are one of the few Christian TH-camrs i know that have a firm faith, a sound doctrine, and a humble gentle heart.

I am supposing that there are only two main things that I would comment upon that are an inherent part of your overall journey as opposed to just a singular part such as modesty.
The Lord does have need of you and the simple fact that you felt guided to change the topic of your video at the last minute is evidence of that. The difference is perhaps our limited human understanding of what the word "need" means as it regards the Lord of all. You are most likely not the only woman who made a video about modesty today for instance, but they have other people within reach and you have your subscribers. I realize that sounds a bit lame as an example, but it is nevertheless true. And many others who haven't as yet seen your channel may do so even if only glancing at the title which in turn plants a seed of thought.
Secondly, many women do dress in different ways in order to feel beautiful and sexy and appreciated but yes, judgments on a personal level can be touch and go sometimes being worse than saying nothing and end up as the very stumbling block for males and females alike. You are very attractive and beautiful but much more so because of your now chosen walk toward and with the Lord and not because of superficial things--not to minimize the topic of modesty but rather to draw the focus back to the spirit which is always of utmost importance. So the part wherein you mentioned not knowing where somebody else is in their journey and thus to exercise patience and restraint is a note of priority.

@@AnnaDysett, it is amazing to see how God has humbled your heart. He will finish the good work he started in you. I grew up dressing how I wanted to until God touched me, and I gave my life to Christ at a church where women dress with skirts and dresses. The Holy Spirit started working in me in the area of dressing. After 15 years I noticed that some women are super careful in their dressing than others. I feel like we should just continue in prayer. Your modesty journey should not feel like a burden, we should do it out of respect towards others and obedience to God. May the Good Lord continue guiding you, blessings!

Anna, I just wanted to reply to your comment here to say that though I do agree with the comment about the top half of your dresses, PLEASE do not say that how far you have come in modestly isn’t enough. I want to remind you that the Lord works on all of us individually in HIS time. Remember He looks at our heart. Our Father KNOWS that you have the purest intentions and mean by no part to reveal too much in your chest area. I can count many times in my own journey that I have genuinely thought something was modest, to later find that as I have grown in the Lord it wasn’t. BUT, I did not for a moment think i was displeasing the Lord at that time, because I knew that He saw my love and effort for Him. Please be assured that our Lord sees your heart for Him, and accepts your modesty journey as an act of worship. Remember this is a walk with Christ, not a sprint!! Remember we will never be perfect until we are with Jesus, all we can do is try, try, try. You are a beautiful Godly woman, and this is not just through your dress but through the Spirit in you. Father sees your heart and loves your effort. Keep going sis. Love your videos ❤️❤️❤️
