The muscle contractions can be a response to stress, depression, head injury, or anxiety. They may occur at any age, but are most common in adults and older teens. 👍

I've had chronic migraine and tension headache for 3 years now. Nothing seemed to work. No painkillers, no anti-depressants. I gave this a shot and honestly, I am shooked. It has helped relieve so much tension in my neck. I don't remember the last time i felt this relaxed. I'm gonna do these exercises everyday. I'm 18 and I start college next week and I thought i wouldn't have been able to perform as well given the headaches. But this has given me some hope. Maybe there's a way to be good again. I thought I was a migraine suffer because I get headaches weekly and they stick around for two days, but I've followed your advice in here and it shifted it just like you said - in 5 mins, and that was without medication. I cannot thank you enough. I have been to the doctors for two years so many times in tears over headaches, had a brain scan - and NOT ONE doctor has ever mentioned it could be tension from posture. you tried buckwheat shell pillow? i have been using that for the past 10 years, since i started using that, my tension headaches reduced from 4 times per week to 5 times per year.

    • @joannehughes6082
      @joannehughes6082 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@lycaondoug hi - I did all four together, really concentrating on feeling the stetch, slowly getting into the stretch and pulling it so that I couldnt extend that muscle any further. I found it hard doing tge stretches because my neck was so tense and rickerty, especially the pillowcase one, but I stayed in the stretch, really focused on streching and relieving the tension, to the point it hurt, but it felt good because I knew I was really stretching for tgat tension to escape. I think the combination of extending the neck muscles (which my poor posture had overloaded) and stretching out the back posture muscle is what has worked.
Im also trying to be more careful now of my posture as I walk, sit, work at the computer. Im probably on doing this 50% of the time though.
Ive still not had a headache so this has been a miracle cure for me. I must have had so much built up tension.
      how have you found them?

Hey man, I just watched your video on pinched nerves in the neck, did your exercises, and they already show their first effects.
      I got 2 questions however.
      1. My doc and physio therapist are sure (without imaging technologies) that a blocked vertebrae is the cause of the pinched nerve. My question: Can this really be possible? Because I am still very much scared it could be a herniated disc or so, as my arms and legs tingle, hurt, sometimes feel somewhat numb and weak and my vertebrae area hurts.
      2. Question: If it really is a pinched nerve and it is "just" a vertebrae blockage... How long can this take until the nerve fully regenerates and stops fricking beating the s*** out of me and my psych?
Edit: The area which hurts is in the thorax part of the spine by the way.

I’ve been plagued with headaches & migraines since I was a child and never really knew what caused them, assumed it was genetic.
During the pandemic I’ve been on my PC so much and the headaches started increasing; I found myself in pain most days, sometimes even vomiting.
One time during a bad 5 day migraine, my husband massaged the back of my head and the pain went away! I started suspecting then that it was tension headaches.
I started working on correcting my posture after a neck injury, many of those exercises are similar to this video.
After weightlifting yesterday got another bad migraine with aura. I can’t tell you how much the pain lessened after doing the exercises in this video. Thank you thank you so so much 😭

@@Jasmine-of7sq the headaches just went away for me. Now I’m just dealing with derealization from time to time. It comes and goes. It’ll one day be gone completely. There are times when I feel normal. It’s been like 2 months and a half. Maybe the headaches are coming from ur neck. U should try inversion table therapy. It helped mine. Maybe medication to…. not that I’ve tried it but Maybe it could help u.

Hey Jared. Been having bad tension headaches and jaw clenching every day, feeling like my head was in a vice. At first I thought the headaches were just from jaw clenching but after a bit of education (including this video) I found that both are likely caused by prolonged sitting, poor posture, stress, shallow breathing and muscle tightness in other parts of the body. Day two of doing these exercises and so far they seem to be working. In fact I felt the onset of a headache after sitting for four hours today and thwarted it with these stretches. Sincere gratitude!
Few questions about the chin tuck. When doing them I feel an intense stretch from the tips of my shoulders down to my forearm, is that normal? Also feel the urge to slightly arch my back off the floor while tucking, that ok or try to keep back flat against the floor? Last question: the tucks somewhat obstruct breathing, hold breath or try to breathe through them?

Hello, my name is Andrew. I'm a 19 year old college student. I have been battling daily headaches and muscle tension for over a year. I have tried everything from brain scans to allergy testing to chiropractor. I'm currently trying Atlas Orthogonal. I've had maybe 4 adjustments done and haven't received any relief. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions please let me know. Thank you so much.

Did these stretches help you? I'm having a similar problem but I haven't done any tests. My headaches are usually the worst right after waking up, then it persists throughout the day. Is it the same for you?
Also, do you sit at a computer a lot? How is your posture?

I've done similar exercises like these to strengthen my neck muscles, and wound up WITH a headache afterwards. Also, I often wake up with headaches...do you have any advice on sleep positions or pillows to avoid this type of muscle-tension headache? Thank you for all your informative videos!

I often find that if people push these TOO HARD it can result in increased pain afterwards. My advice would be back off everything and keep all the stretches as comfortable as possible. Consistency over intensity every single time. As far as the sleeping thing - you bet I can help! Check these out and let me know if they help: th-cam.com/video/xZfIn_OHADI/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/-Qxmc4E7IwA/w-d-xo.html
