Pro tip: you only have to get 1 allay trapped and then dupe the rest right there.
I feel really stupid for not thinking of this, thanks for pointing that out man
U can dupe allays??????
@@Noah363_ Give them amethyst while music is playing, and they'll duplicate.
@@Noah363_ did you not watch the video?
@Armoredmaple122 there's a video??????
Minecrafters yet again continuing to push the boundaries of how many animal/human rights violations they can possibly have in a single farm. Good job!
They didn't sign the Geneva convention so they don't get it's protections

Dwarven fortress would be proud
fairy waterboarding to summon ceaseless torrents of the most disgusting creature alive to fuel your power addiction. nice.
Its just like Fate fr
So… waterboarding is meta now… 😨
“They’re constantly drowning but can never die” cool… i’m calling PETA
allays arent animals so its ok❤
For the love of god don’t call peta they would do way worse things
Peta? lol, lmao even
Enderman crying is funny for known reasons
When he cries, he takes damage
Crying literally kills Enderman
we got the quantum entangled dead and alive allays
schrodinger's allay... its both useless and useful at the same time
They're not both dead and alive.
They're alive, constantly drowning.. forever... With silverfish crawling out of their skin
Who's the real monster here
Pro tip if you don't care about lag: Vines stop entity cramming
regular vines, crimson vines, warped vines, all do it for anyone wondering. and if you use shears on the nether ones, they stop growing too so entities can't climb out of enclosure
ladders too?
@@ameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee yes
@@ameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ladders too but its not ideal since mobs can stand on them
Stopping entity cramming actually reduces lag, well, provided that you don't forget it running.
ah yes an xp farm build upon endless torture and forcefully infestation with silver fish of friendly little blue dudes, the most minecraft thing ever
they will live their entire life trapped, constantly suffering and unable to die with their guts falling out as silver fish until the end of time
greek mythology of prometheus but his liver is used to fuel an xp farm
INFINITE LIVER FARM 1.21.x NOT CLICKBAIT
mojang: that seems like an issue...
Why is that so real 😭
i think its pretty neat that you can do this, its emergent gameplay at its finest!
...but it also showcases the inherent flaws in minecrafts enchanting and xp systems lol :P hope they address the xp system at large in the next major update
Couldn't agree more, Enchanting update is imminent
the percentage is not 200%, it's 87%~88% percent for at least one silverfish to spawn 🤓🤓🤓
Dang now I gotta re-record the whole video
Nuh uh. 10% × 20 = 200%
Feel like enderman farms are still better but this is much more convenient since we can build this anywhere
the end bit about the enchanting system for some unknowable reason felt weirdly emotional to me and really compelling and i have no idea why
Oh no. It just hit me. This farm is how vexes are made. Imagine what happens after they are trapped for a long time, they become one with the silverfish, go insane, and learn how to phase right through what is trapping them.
I like this theory
sure looks fun. i'll add this to the list of other ways to optimize my enjoyment of the game into oblivion.
Hope this doesn't get patched before the new update rolls in so I can add it to my main world
As of right now the latest snapshot still hasn't patched this out, so I actually think that this farm might be here to stay. Knock on wood though
I don't think it would be considered as a bug, let's hope not
i hope it does tbh
Oh, I'm absolutely positive missing Mojang would see this and think nothing is morally wrong there...
Farm should be good to go forever
Bro sounds like Elon Musk
Why is TODAY the day i find out I was lied to? For literally years now I've believed that corner bookshelves don't do anything because they don't have an open face to the enchanting table. I used to build them with corners, Then I was told to stop doing that because it does nothing, And now I'm being told that it does actually work???
Gotta love the PETA farm, its not a good farm if it doesn't bring animal ethics to mind.
It's definitely not the best farm but its got its uses. Other than construction is pretty convenient.
it can be anywhere and only produces mobs when needed, though it does seem to make a lot of noise that would get the authorities charging you for mob cruelty.
It does seem to be limited with how fast the player can absorb exp. Never mind..
Surprisingly, after a short wiki search, the silver fish drops the same exp as an enderman. who would've known.
I wonder what farm designs others will make to optimize this farm is Mojang doesn't nerf it first.
least evil minecraft player
pretty good design i guess, it should be easy to add a crafting system for the potions and a 3 min timer with on/off switch to throw them on top.
That’s very nice of you😊
Ahh… Finally! A way for the Allay to be actually useful!
If mojang patches this it means that they really do just want it to be a useless addition.
I LOVE YOU LO-DAWG
Mwah
this is incredible, thank you m8!!!
13, the scary disk
What if the enchanting system actually had more literal enchanting. Like you can pick which enchant you want, but you have to find it first in a chest somewhere. which could also mean that they can allow mending to be given by the table as you still have to find it first and is more humane than a villager farm.
Im pretty sure if you put like a vine in the kill chamber, they wont sufficate. You could do the same with the allays cuz im pretty sure vines can be waterlogged.
Unless they have removed that in the newest update

Wow I never thought about having the floor where you slash them be an enchanting table, gonna use that design lol
NEW LO_DAWG VIDEO MY BELOVED
They’re always drowning but can never die. Sounds like an accurate description of Hell.
more grinding to do in survival thank you
Can add a simple hopper clock to auto dispense the potions.
LO DAWG!
Doubles as enchanting room lol
This is amazing!
put a double chest filled with potions above the dropper, connect it with a hopper. also include a redstone clock to automatically refresh the potion effect
High end XP farms are capped by the rate the player can pick up XP. The rate a player can pick up XP is based on the size of the XP orbs a mob drops. Guardians and Blazes drop more XP, so their theoretical maximum XP rate is higher.
That said, this seems way easier to make than either a blaze or guardian farm, and more reliable than an enderman farm (only really an issue on multiplayer). Definitely a good farm for midgame.
For you bedrock users out there a powdered snow works instead of water just killing them.
Also bedrock doesnt have entity cramming so put as many as you want in there
And finally bedrock doesnt have sweeping edge, so make the drop as deep as possible so they are on lowest health, then once enough have accumulated, throw a harming potion
Hook this up to a potion auto crafter and put it on a 3 minute counter and you got yourself a fully automatic silverfish farm! Plus using vines to stop the entity cramming
this is vey clever and important but also Im pretty sure a good enderman farm produces xp faster than the player can pick up anyways
Thanks for the kind words, and yes it's true that Endermen farms already produce more xp than the player can absorb, so the speed at which the two farms level you up is the same. An important thing to note however is that this farm still produces more mobs than Ender enders, so even though the amount of time it takes to level you up is the same, the total amount of xp is greater in a shorter amount of time. With that being said, I was wrong when I said that this farm is better for xp than Guardian farms, at the time I didn't understand how xp absorption mechanics worked.
@@lo-dawg6644 I did notice that this could be set up pretty much anywhere though. the other options are only dimension / location specific, this is basically a potion powered mob farm, although a bit less humane
edit: I wonder if this could be replicated with regular zombies / snow golems (throwing snowballs) / witches (throwing potions or being hit and drinking regen). Like, maybe the potions could be used to boost the output of a mob grinder by having a bigger water pit style kill chamber where extra fish could spawn while they all get killed
@@Sucralose2 This farm works in the Nether, you just need to use a wither rose instead of water. The rates when using a wither rose are faster too because the damage events are more frequent, I didn't put it in the video though because I forgor. This potion is awesome and there are many other applications for it, like with snow golems and witches, but I haven't really seen or thought of any designs that beat the simplicity and convenience that the Allay torture chambers provide. The potential is there though, and as Minecraft continues to get updates throughout the years I'm sure we'll see more use cases for the effect
This is the future
the allay torture device
this is so peak omg 🙏🙏
I would love to see an enchanting update that makes it so I can actually choose my enchantments.
I seriously spent over 200 xp lvls getting a max sword, just because it would give me bane of arthropods 4 over and over and over.
I wouldn't mind spending over 200xp lvls getting a max sword, if it wasn't as infuriating and luck based. I love the idea of making max level enchantments harder to get, ONLY if it means getting rid of the goblin tinkerer style enchanting.
Making enchanting harder, AND keeping it rng based sounds so painful.
Enchanting, anvils, and just XP in general need a whole revamp istg.
I would also like more powerful items, but like REALLY late game. Because it adds more progression, also its just fun being stupidly overpowered really late game.
Maybe like a sharpness 6 book you can ONLY get from like the trial chambers or something? Maybe you can upgrade the enchanting table with the dragon egg, and that allows you to get better enchants? You can pretty easily dupe the dragon egg, or they could just make it so you get an egg per dragon. So you don't miss out on also having it as a cool item to show off.
7:30 hah! sadly that's not how that works, although I'll admit to confused by probabilities all the time. But a 200% chance of anything is nonsensical. Rather, the accurate statement here would be that an average of 2 silverfish should spawn with each damage tick.
actually you're wrong, it doesn't matter if you can infinitely scale the farm because the bottle neck here is how fast can you pickup xp, enderman farms already produce more exp than you can pickup. it also depends on the size of xp orbs the mobs drop, pillagers and guardians drop larger xp orbs than enderman or blaze, but if you want to go all out, ravenger drop the largest xp orbs. what's cool about this farm is it can easily replace any spawner farm in the game, as it's so simple to make and you can build it anywhere you want.
10:41 "you have to go up every 3 minutes to push the button" sooo... whos gonna tell him that hopper clocks exist?
this farm is extremely broken and I kinda love it (I love a good exploit x] ) bc its gonna make early/mid game xp super easy since the only 3 hurdles you have, that being finding/capturing/duping allays, having access to enough blaze rods and a smooth stone farm but most if not all of these could be farmed or even completely automated in on big colossal farm within just a few chunks
also It seems this farm might only be viable(OP) on java since allays on bedrock drown faster and will end up dying if anyones got any ideas for getting around that lmk (also holy shit does this thing lag hard on bedrock DO NOT put more then like 5 allays in at once)
On Bedrock you can use a magma block to hurt the Allays
I REALLY hope this doesn’t get patched
good video fr fr :3
Finally a use for allays
put a ladder in the dropping place for entity cramming
cant you put a vine or a ladder in the allay chamber to ignore entity cramming?
Neat concept...
You could up it by one, by making the farm mobile 😂
goated tutorial
and video
Someone should connect an automated cobble farm to a super smelter with a fuel farm connected to it and have an auto brewer to automatically make a new potion
Cool farm. Doesn’t beat cubicmetre’s god particle farm though (to be fair it literally can’t beat it though)
schrodinger's allay
Welll technically cubicmetre made the fastest possible xp farm. Every other xp farm will always be slower or match it.
Finally a comment that points this out
It doesn't scale infinitely though. Existing farms already run into the limit of the max amount of xp orbs a player can absorb in a given amount of time. Guardian farms are better than prettymuch all of them because they drop bigger orbs allowing the player to absorb xp faster.
Efficient silverfish farms are now in vanilla wow
there are many max orb rate farms, and silverfish and medium/small slimes do not give large xp orbs. endermen and guardians are good for a reason.
Guardian farms are definitely better actually, my bad.
Silverfish do drop the same amount of xp as endermen though
hey what if you apply the hoosing effect on the silverfishs so they spawn a hell of slimes when you kill them for even more xp ?
Yeah you can totally do that if you're willing to make the potions for it, oozing is crazy though because it basically turns every mob farm in the game into a slime farm
we r so back
Make it with Redstone
Wouldn’t it be possible to place a ladder in the allay chamber to avoid entity cramming and allow for even more allays? That would theoretically make the farm even faster, right?
Yes you can also do that instead of making additional Allay chambers
3:09 Oh I forgot that Allays were able to asexually reproduce alone...
So, you haven't seen update suppressed furnaces?
This is nice and all, but how will it affect Lebron's legacy?
I like your voice lo dawg
Can't you just easily setup a button that activates the farm and then sends a redstone pulse through a hopper clock for 3 minutes and automate it? (Given you have a sufficient supply of potions)
I hadn't thought of that, it's a great idea. Thanks for sharing that dude
🤫dont tell Mojang
lo-dwag can you read me a bedtime story
Once upon a time there was an ugly barnacle
@@lo-dawg6644 this reference earned my sub. also the farm is cool i guess
why not build one near an end portal spawner as well?
You would need 1860 Allys to reach lvl 30 in one second
honestly I love the engineering but the fact is infinitely scalable seems like a problem, for lag and balance, my suggestion to nerf it would be they just add some form of limit to how many mobs splash potions can affect, either just a strict limit of x amount of mobs, or they could make it so after x amount the effect time starts to go down, which effectively results in a limit but less strict
Now what about the Ender Dragon XP farm?
If the world gets too lagy the allay can die. Do to the fact theyget all the damage after te lag spike.
why don't you use a trident and a clock so you don't need to push the button
ianxfour guardian farm is more than enough xp and u get prismarine.
why not duplicate the allays inside the box?
6:36 what about snow layers?
I just tested it. Snow layers also work. But you have less room to see and hit them.
What happens if the silverfish spawn inside the block with alleys, wont that run a risk of entity crammung killing all our torture victims?
No actually, they immediately get bounced out due to the cramming, and because they can fit through half block spaces unlike Allays
@@lo-dawg6644 i see thank you
this probably has better xp production on bedrock edition due to the lack of entity cramming.
vines do the same thing on java :D
Also trident killing too
@@user-kb9wd3zn9h but can vines be waterlogged?
Is the enderman in the thumbnail crying water?
its so painful it starts crying and that is painful too so it cries even more
Very hmmmmmmmmm
7:37 🤨
Is this farm bedrock friendly?
Yes, but the design is different and less intuitive. Also you need to use a magma block instead of drowning them
Jesus fucking Christ. stuck in a one block chamber packed with hundreds of them, all endlessly drowning, yet unable to die, and constantly vomiting silverfish. I'm not using this farm simply for moral reasons. this shit is disturbing, allays don't deserve this kind of treatment man. this is not even a farm at this point, this is a straight up torture device lmao
Silverfish farm made from stone bricks 💀💀💀
Yeah... whoops
U could do design with zombie or something else rather than allay by using snow gollems instead of drowning damage
also 7:40 🤓 actually it's 87% that at least one silverfish will spawn if there is 20 allays and since 10% of 20 is 2 infested effect will trigger 2 times per hit, assuming that it's 50% chance to spawn 2 and 50% to spawn 1 it's about 1,5 on average per effect triggered so u get about 3 silverfish each time ur allays get hit
Are the maths right saying that it's a 200 % chance? I mean even if every creature take their chances at 20%, they can all fail (bad luck) anyway. So maybe it's more and more close to 100%, but not 200%
Don't really know about statistics/probability but maybe it should be closer to 20%+10%+5%+2.5%...=40% rather than 20% + 20%...=200%
is not enchanting, is villager trading 11:15
101 sub =]
Wouldn't this work as a mobswitch too? 😅
I haven't tested this but lemme see
Holy boosh it works
Nevermind the silverfish can actually despawn
Does he ever show how much do he actually gets? He uses the farm in creative and there’s nothing in the description on time from lvl 0 to 30
I should haven been more clear on the exact rates, that was an error on my end. Thanks for pointing it out
This farm is not the best... easier to build, sure... but it is not 100% afk, has no drops, also is slow, really slow
the guardian xp farm is miles better though...
but way harder to make
@@SandiaOfficial i'd argue finding allays and gathering 20 of em is just a tiny bit easier, which is defintely not enough for the immense xp and loot output from the guardian grinder (which is also self-sustaining unlike the allay xp farm which requires user input in the form of splash potions)
It depends on how many Allay chambers you're willing to make
@@lo-dawg6644 I guess that's fair, though I don't think the amount of allay chambers sufficient to even compete with guardian grinders would be practical due to the constant demand for splash potions.
@@Chromeno Yeah refreshing the splash potions is definitely annoying. Automatable, but still a big hassle. Guardian farms are also a pain in the ass to make though, so I can't really decide which one is more challenging of an endeavor
I dont know what you mean when you say this farm is more efficient than endermen farms. They both provide the same amount of xp, and there are also faster mob farms like guardian farms. This probably isn't even the fastest xp farm to build, because you need to find an allay which can take a while, breed it a bunch of times, and get all the resources for infestation potions which will take some time. The benefit of not needing room in the mob cap to spawn is real though, and I actually think thats where this farm shines. If a server's mob cap is full, the only xp farms that you could use would be like furnace xp farms, overworld portal piglin farms, and spawner farms (and maybe more that i missed) all of which are either tons of work or very slow. So I'm happy they added this farm, because I think the time spent getting potions and allays makes the xp output of the farm balanced, and the farm doesn't take away from other farms, because other xp farms are still needed because they're faster.
The speed and efficiency of this farm is completely up to the player, which is what makes it unique. If you want, you can build a skyscraper full of 15 Allay chambers with 20 inside of each, and produce enough Silverfish to crash the game instantly. And as crazy as all that sounds, I think the cost of potions does an okay job of balancing that out. The amount of Silverfish breaks the max hostile mob count with ease, where Endermen and Guardian farms can't
@@lo-dawg6644 that isnt how experience works though. theres a limit to how much xp a player can absorb per second, so having more silverfish doesnt actually lead to more xp.
@@DashPum4 I'm confused, wouldn't that mean that it would just take longer to gain experience, but still result in more xp overall?
@@lo-dawg6644 generally people dont care about how much xp there is, they care about how much xp they can use. guardian farms will let you collect much more xp than a silverfish farm. Even though you could hypothetically scale this farm up to get more total xp than a guardian farm, unless you have like 20 players all using the same farm, theres no reason to scale it up past a certain point. so technically yes, more xp overall, but its useless xp. that extra xp will just cause extra lag, which is why some xp farms burn excess xp that cant be collected by the player.
