The fact that this universal can be fixed by literally just making a REALLY REALLY REALLY thick wall is hilarious to me. At some point, the walls thickness has to beat the entity limit, probably.
3 or 4 thousand block thick walls probably could foil this universal, but that's so wildly impractical your best bet would be security by obscurity at that point
Probably won’t be, if someone manages to make a drip stone skipper over 50k+ blocks (although loading it would probably take an entire hour) would easily make every single prison useless, since there is no way a person will spend that much time and effort making it, let alone in survival

I don't know much about prisons. I'm assuming what's happening is the prisoner is forced to sleep in a bed that respawns them in case they die and the sandskipper allows them to instead respawn at world spawn. If that's the case, wouldn't building the prison around the default spawn area prevent escaping with this exact method?
i’m like 60% sure it doesn’t work cuz of how worldspawn works, although you could probably detect when a player spawns, and just drop them into the prison. Even if it did work though, you’d also be trapping everyone who dies.
late reply but the problem with this is that anyone who joins the server is trapped inside the prison, so its more of a server whitelist than a true prison
The bed is used to reset the spawn point as almost all prisons use beds to prevent players from escaping by dying. Bringing a bed and then breaking it resets the spawn point and then deletes it, so the game believes there is no longer a valid spawn point and thus respawns the player at world spawn. The problem with building a prison around world spaen though is that now every player who joins the server or dies without a bed is now stuck in the prison
the idea of sand being shot as an entity forward was discovered long before, but good idea on bringing it into light on how it can be used in actual gameplay
